The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases-Chapter 548 - 339: Am I That Kind of Dragon!?
As Tania gained insight into this enigmatic puzzle of universal unity, the prayers with their varied inscriptions, carved by the Priests of Bahamut across Dragon Island, suddenly appeared different in her view as she gazed down upon the land.
Her gaze seemed to penetrate the shackles of time and space, and each Dragon script symbol transformed into an invisible window.
Beneath each of these windows, she saw her brother, David Uthos, either fighting in Ferodiel or attempting to reverse the decline in his own world.
And these individual dragons, seemingly trapped on their respective isolated islands, were like myriad colorful scales.
Eventually, they converged, forming a colossal, slumbering dragon.
"This is it! Wait for me, Brother David! Tania is coming!"
While the Metal Dragon Priests looked on, stunned or incredulous, Tania rose abruptly from the Throne of the North Wind.
Spreading her wings, Tania flew past the heads of the dragons, over the dazzling scenery of Dragon Island, and beneath the excited, hopeful gaze of Silver Dragon Princess Alicia.
Finally, with a touch as light as a dragonfly skimming water, she landed in the deep pool beneath Dragon Island's waterfall. Her arrival was like adding the finishing eyes to a dragon painting.
The surface of the deep pool rippled.
The next moment, the Dragon script beneath the claws of all the Priests on the island violently shattered as if coming to life, surging towards the deep pool below the mountain.
The change was so sudden and intense that it seemed as if all the Mana Energy of Dragon Island was caught up in the tempestuous, rising storm.
And Tania, at the eye of the storm, having unlocked one of the mysteries revealing the true nature of the Multiverse, fell into a peculiar state.
"Don't go over there!"
Silver Dragon Princess Alicia promptly stopped the dragons who, concerned for Tania's safety, were attempting to step forward. Then, both relieved and emotional, she added,
"Tania—no, She—has simply proven Her divinity and ignited the divine fire.
"She is about to... ascend to godhood."
"Ah?" Beside her, the assembled dragons, including Gold Dragon Priest Erickson and Silver Dragon Guard Dackels, were all dumbfounded.
"Since when has... ascension become so 'easy'..." Silver Dragon Guard Dackels muttered, his voice tinged with envy.
First, there was the proven ascension of Pafila, once known as the Crimson Calamity. Then came David Uthos's almost record-breaking ascension as a young dragon. Now, Tania, no less remarkable, had ascended directly merely by solving a puzzle. It was simply one outrageous feat after another.
Any one of them, taken alone, would have been an overwhelming presence in an era.
Yet, by some twist of fate, they had all converged under the same sky.
This was the great fortune of the Dragon Race.
Gold Dragon Erickson, standing nearby, clarified,
"No, it just seems simpler for this particular brood of dragons, that's all."
"..." Silver Dragon Guard Dackels smacked his lips.
When he had hatched, Pafila was already a renowned legend.
And he had witnessed Tania's success almost entirely, from beginning to end.
He recalled her almost masochistic, relentless effort, day and night. Considering the generally indolent nature of great dragons, it was astounding. Probably, few even among the short-lived, ever-striving humans could match such dedication.
As for David Uthos, Dackels had seen him too.
In the thousands of years since Dragon Island's establishment, David was the first Red Dragon to brazenly force his way onto the island and successfully achieve his goal.
That unique courage and nonchalant air alone were qualities Dackels admitted he could never learn in a lifetime.
It truly was enough to make other dragons unable to even feel jealous.
While the dragons of Dragon Island watched with a myriad of complex emotions, Tania, radiating an invisible force as though incandescent, slowly lifted Her head and finally reopened Her eyes.
And from this day forward, the heavens themselves could no longer veil Her eyes.
"I see you,
"Brother David..." Tania smiled, Her expression one of firm confidence and resolve.
She would no longer be a burden Her brother had to constantly protect.
With this thought, Tania spread Her wings.
And then, She soared to the heavens.
Like a column of light piercing straight to the zenith.
And all the animated Dragon scripts of Dragon Island, like countless, colorful Dragon Scales scattered in a storm, clung to Tania's form as She ascended, rushing towards the sky with Her.
「At the same time, in the depths of the final Ferodiel.」
David, sensing this, looked towards the silent 'Moravi,' spread his claws, and said with a smile,
"You see? She did it."
The outcome was already determined. No more needless words were exchanged. Silence descended upon the scene.
An incalculable amount of time passed.
'Moravi,' its eyes hollow, tilted its head and offered David a smile laden with obscure meaning.
David's pupils constricted as he instantly grasped its intent.
"Don't—!" he started to say, but 'Moravi' had already clenched the invisible Hand of Despair.
In its grasp, David was silently crushed into nothingness.
Yet David had already accomplished universal unity at the microscopic level of weak forces. In a sense, he had already undergone a transformation, becoming a kind of high-dimensional, immortal existence. This aligned with the Taoist concept of 'all things returning to the One; the natural law.'
'Moravi' crushing this David before it was like crumbling a single scale from a Time Dragon—as insignificant as a grain of sand.
And as another 'scale' drifted into place, the David who had been shattered was instantly reborn, emerging like a butterfly from its cocoon.
