The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases-Chapter 494 - 296: Get Lost
The Blue Dragon Brule was jolted awake by the intense cold.
He had originally been punished by being submerged in a pig cage for inciting trouble in the forge and beating a White Dragon labor saboteur.
But such a punishment, which might be torture for other creatures, was merely a minor reprimand for a dragon.
Due to the low latitude of the Kutaro Desert, the seawater was warm. Brule, soaking at the bottom of the sea, had even begun dreaming blissfully of cavorting with a large-horned female Red Dragon.
Suddenly, he discovered that the beautiful Red Dragon before him had bizarrely transformed into an idiotic White Dragon!
A sneeze that produced a jet of Frost Dragon’s Breath sent a shiver through his cloaca.
He was instantly awakened by an overwhelming rage.
Brule was immediately startled to find the entire sea surface frozen solid.
For a moment, he thought Mofei’s group of White Dragons, finally beaten into sense by him, were on a collective strike by the sea, perhaps looking to cause him trouble.
But soon he sensed a strange yet unsettlingly familiar aura!
It was the aura of the dragons’ enemy—Giants!
Not just one or two, but an entire tribe!
Such a number of Giants spelled doom for any Dragon Territory!
The ceaseless rumbling tremors and the muffled battle cries, as if filtered through a membrane, made the muscles in his hindquarters tighten.
But weren’t Giants nearly extinct? The last of them had been driven to the harsh, icy lands north of the Supreme Glacier. Instinctively, Brule wanted to flee this dangerous place immediately. After all, his contract with David was merely a standard mercenary agreement; it wasn’t worth dying for that insatiably greedy and detestable Evil Dragon. Yet, the thought of his Blue Dragon nestmates, likely defending Montero Ore Town to the death because of that stubborn old Patrice’s will...
"Aargh! This is so frustrating!" Though he grumbled, his body faithfully obeyed his inner conviction. Lightning erupted from his mouth, exploding outward into the sea.
The ice covering the coastal waters instantly spiderwebbed with cracks radiating outward.
WHOOSH! A mixed-breed Blue Dragon, his scales almost purple, burst from beneath the ice.
But just as Brule leaped onto the shore, preparing to launch himself into the air, he found himself face-to-face with a group of High Elf Mages in moonlit robes. They appeared to be preparing a spell.
Apparently, neither side had expected a dragon to suddenly emerge from behind enemy lines on the edge of the fiercely raging battlefield.
Although Brule couldn’t discern the spell they were preparing, he was certain these long-eared folk weren’t up to any good.
Thus, Brule, finding himself surrounded, made the most correct and effective choice.
As the Elves simultaneously drew their bows, nocked arrows, and raised their Magic Wands to cast spells at him, the purple-scaled mixed-breed Blue Dragon craned his neck and bellowed towards Tokamak Fortress,
"Patrice, you old coot!!!"
Patrice, fighting in the midst of the battlefield, instantly heard his mixed-breed son’s cry for help. Through Brule’s location, he keenly sensed the High Elves preparing to magically support the Frost Giants.
[Anti-Magic Field]!
Patrice’s pupils constricted. He could no longer worry about whether Tokamak Fortress’s energy supply could keep up.
If he allowed this group of Frost Giants to advance into the fortress under the [Anti-Magic Field], he wasn’t sure if David Uthos could replicate the ’miracle’ that had previously restored the entire ruined fortress in an instant.
Without hesitation, he too unleashed a Dragon’s Roar skyward,
"ROAR!!!"
A pillar of lightning, like the blast from a sci-fi warship’s main cannon, shot into the sky.
The low-hanging dark clouds instantly writhed with countless serpentine bolts of lightning.
In the next moment, with the two Blue Dragons as the focal points, hundreds of lightning bolts rained down from the sky.
In moments, the lightning strikes had scoured most of the desert coastline battlefield, culminating in a deafening thunderclap and a blinding pale light around Brule’s position.
Yet, after unleashing such a torrent of Mana Energy, even a veteran legendary Blue Dragon like Patrice appeared somewhat drained. He watched as more Frost Titans, wielding stone spears, swarmed towards him. Using Magic Messaging, he commanded Brule,
"Brule, son of the Olivalyres clan, return to the roost! Tokamak Fortress needs your strength!"
The coastline, still crackling with residual lightning, fell silent for a moment.
"Understood."
Accompanied by a resolute yet somewhat proud response, the purple-scaled dragon, riddled with arrows like a porcupine, broke through the Elves’ encirclement. With an expression of pain yet determination, he shook off the charred vines from his body and soared into the sky!
But by then, his wings were shattered. He ascended relying solely on the explosive force of an ’inverse breath,’ a technique he mimicked from David Uthos.
He spread his tattered wings, preparing to glide over the perilous battlefield.
But it was clear that after his earlier shout, which had drawn the focused attention of both Elves and Frost Titans, he wouldn’t be allowed to escape so easily.
"Sodomagog! Stop him!" the Giants and Elves commanded almost simultaneously.
The Elves had been secretly gathering intelligence. Although they were still unsure how David Uthos managed it, they knew their enemy sought that legendary power by harnessing the lightning abilities of these Blue Dragons.
Consequently, the Blue Dragons were a primary target of their surprise attack.
