The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases-Chapter 375 - 238: My Head Is on Fire
Under the thunderstorm, David didn’t rush to show off before the female dragons like the other hormone-driven Blue Dragons. Instead, he was the first to ’freeload’ the Blue Dragon’s lightning breath.
This was one of Jealousy’s flaws—all show and no substance.
Just as David was considering whether to find a way to cover for his sister Tania, he felt a surge of Magic Power hidden beneath the storm. Then, under the avid gaze of the assembled dragons, he saw Tania ’spit’ out a perfectly ordinary lightning breath, eliciting excited cheers from the female dragons.
David suddenly fell silent.
Right... Tania was an Element Master, after all. Using Elemental Magic to disguise a Blue Dragon’s lightning breath was a piece of cake. And the voices of these female dragons right now were making him quite uncomfortable.
Usually, they were rough and burly, looking even more muscular than the male Blue Dragons. Now, however, each of them had adopted a shrill, affected voice.
It was like watching burly northeastern men instantly transform into Lolita maids. They cheered for the male dragons they fancied, especially when they saw Tania. Her graceful dance moves, clearly inherited from her Silver Dragon father’s talent, had them swaying their hindquarters with wild abandon.
David couldn’t shake the feeling that this mate-choosing bonfire evening was turning into Tania’s grand solo-dragon idol gala.
He had initially thought that if things continued this way, these female dragons, stirred up by Tania, would eventually come to blows.
Yet, he watched as Tania, this ’counterfeit Blue Dragon hunk,’ who seemingly already had an object of her affection, gracefully landed—amidst the mournful cries of the other female dragons—before a somewhat incredulous and suddenly shy Lefilia. Tania extended her tail, as if in invitation.
According to Blue Dragon customs, if the other party also extended their tail to entwine with hers, and they flew into the sky to dance together while bathed in lightning, it pretty much meant they were a couple.
"Damn it, Tania! Are you serious?" A shocked David quickly contacted his ’deeply-in-character’ little sister via Magic Communication.
"What do you think? If a magnificent dragon such as myself were left single, wouldn’t that be strange? Wouldn’t those old timers at the court grow suspicious?"
David was speechless. It sounded so plausible that he couldn’t refute it. He couldn’t very well admit to having an unspeakable issue with infertility, could he?
Such an issue, common among humans, was unimaginable for dragons, who could defy reproductive barriers and breed with nearly anything across the world—unless there was some physical impairment.
"I, Tania, am making a huge sacrifice for Brother David’s grand infiltration plan this time! If you ascend to your Legendary Destiny one day, Brother, don’t forget to bring little Tania along to share in the glory and riches! Teehee!"
As she spoke, Tania, having already successfully entwined tails with Lefilia, didn’t forget to wink cheekily at David.
David finally understood! You’re the one who wanted to have fun in the first place! If you get yourself burned later, don’t come crying to me to pick up the pieces. The temper of a mother Tyrannosaurus is not something an ordinary dragon can endure!
While David, perplexed, perched atop the Dragon Nest enjoying roasted fish and watching the dragons dance, Kailor returned looking rather dejected. He had danced energetically for half the day without attracting a single female dragon to join him.
This lovelorn dragon plopped down near David, panting, and asked curiously, "Boss, why haven’t you joined in yet? If you wait any longer, all the female dragons will have their eyes on others."
David swished his tail and smacked his lips, replying nonchalantly, "What’s the rush? Don’t you know that the strongest always make the biggest splash by appearing last, as the grand finale?"
But in reality, he was racking his brain, wondering how to muddle through this whole affair. After all, he really wasn’t ready to become a father in this world. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
And dragons were notorious for their fertility, especially in certain environments—like Red Dragons in lava pools, or, as now, Blue Dragons under a thunderstorm.
Blue Dragons, having bathed in lightning and absorbed sufficient elemental essence, were even more prone to conceiving during their mating season. This was why Blue Dragon hatchlings always emerged in batches.
Apart from that one wild encounter with three others, whenever he was with Nifadora, they always... finished externally.
Even though he was a Red Dragon, with no inherent responsibility for offspring, his soul from another world and his Silver Dragon lineage made it impossible for him to be a mere Scum Dragon, driven purely by desire.
If he ever managed to reclaim his territory, Katjana, he might consider raising a few clutches of dragon hatchlings himself, just for fun, like his mother Pafila did back in the day. By then, old dad Attilicia should have ascended to his Legendary Destiny as well. Rather than letting him roam the world like a lothario Bard, it would be better to drag him back to help with the dragon kids. Mother Pafila would surely be delighted to see such a harmonious family scene.
But just then, aside from the already love-struck Tania, Patricio—whom David had thoroughly thrashed when he seized the Dragon Nest—managed to capture the attention of three female dragons with his display. He soared into the sky, subtly hinting they might have a chance with him.
And it was this budding achievement, still far from certain, that made this young Blue Dragon—who had once been a leader himself—look smugly towards David, a hint of provocation in his eyes.
It was as if he were saying, "I might not be able to beat you for now, but I’m not inferior in other aspects!"
