The Reborn Aristocrat's Daughter-Chapter 244: Spiritual Spring (3)_1
Chapter 244: Chapter 244: Spiritual Spring (3)_1
Situ Muli watched from the side, feeling envious. He was also very anxious, not knowing how Situ Xin would arrange for him.
After his excitement had passed, Liu Yuxiang remembered Situ Muli. He quickly put his things away and asked Situ Xin, "Master, what are you planning to do with Mu Li? Will you let him stay at the Dragon Society, or?"
Situ Muli, hearing Liu Yuxiang bring him up to Situ Xin, clenched his hands tightly out of nervousness. He waited for Situ Xin’s answer.
"Mu Li, he’ll leave with me in a moment. Right, I’ll arrange for Mu Li to stay by my side and assist me with various matters," Situ Xin paused before continuing, "From now on, Mu Li will be my personal assistant. If I am ever too busy, I’ll have Mu Li get in touch with you all."
Hearing that Situ Xin wanted him by her side, Situ Muli finally felt at ease. He also felt a surge of joy in his heart, grateful that Situ Xin hadn’t abandoned him.
Situ Xin, with Situ Muli in tow, left the Dragon Society by car, along with Situ Che and Loo Jie, heading straight home.
Both Situ Che and Loo Jie were puzzled about what was so special about Situ Muli that made Situ Xin treat him differently. They wondered why she would bring him home, and even have him by her side to assist her with her work.
Therefore, throughout the journey, both Situ Che and Loo Jie kept glancing at Situ Muli, both overtly and covertly.
However, their behavior, discreet as it was, went unnoticed by Situ Muli, but not by Situ Xin, who saw everything.
And in her heart, she understood their curiosity.
In fact, there was nothing particularly special about Situ Muli. If anything, it was his past experiences that slightly resembled those of Situ Xin in her previous life. This made Situ Xin feel a sense of kinship and desire to help him out.
The fundamental reason why Situ Xin kept Situ Muli by her side as her support was rather simple – she was lazy. And since Situ Muli was capable and Situ Xin was certain he would not betray her, she confidently trusted him to be by her side and take care of her affairs.
They had just arrived at their front door when both Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo were already waiting at the entrance, eager to greet Situ Xin.
As soon as they saw Situ Xin getting out of the car, they hurriedly welcomed her, exclaiming, "Baby, you’re finally back."
"After a tiring day, huh?" After both Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo fussed over Situ Xin for a while, they finally noticed Situ Muli following behind her.
"Eh? Who’s he?" Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo turned their questioning gaze towards their grandson, completely unaware that this unexpected guest had anything to do with their precious granddaughter.
"Grandpa, Grandpa Situ, don’t look at us, you should ask Baby about this," Loo Jie couldn’t handle the old masters’ gaze and quickly declared.
Hearing Loo Jie’s words, both Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo turned their attention sharply towards Situ Xin. "Baby, what exactly is going on here?" Old Master Situ, ever impatient and especially flustered when it came to Situ Xin’s affairs, asked.
"He’s the personal assistant I found for myself," Situ Xin said, as she walked between Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo, taking their arms and cooing, "Grandpa, Granddad, just look, I’m still a middle schooler, I don’t have the time or energy to deal with all the matters of The Dark Division. You wouldn’t want me to get tired, right? So, I found someone reliable to be my personal assistant, to help me out with things on a regular basis."
Usually, when Situ Xin pouted, Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo would immediately give in. But today, they weren’t so easily persuaded.
After hearing Situ Xin’s explanation, both old masters remained silent, instead pulling Situ Xin into the house.
Once inside, Old Master Loo finally spoke up, "Baby, we agree with you finding someone to help with The Dark Division’s affairs, but your sudden choice of person leaves us a little uneasy."
Instantly, Situ Xin knew what her grandpa and granddad were worried about. She quickly said, "Oh, don’t worry about that, Grandpa, Granddad. Mu Li was sent by my master because he was worried I had too many things to handle and would get worn out. You can completely trust him. Before, there wasn’t a role for him to fill, so I just let him stay at the Dragon Society. But now, with The Dark Division’s matters, I thought of him." freewebnøvel.com
Upon hearing that Mu Li was sent by Situ Xin’s master, the expressions on both old masters’ faces softened slightly, and seeing their reaction, Situ Xin also let out a sigh of relief.
She knew that mentioning her elusive master would always work wonders. And Situ Xin was also relieved she hadn’t disclosed Situ Muli’s true identity.
She could predict that if she had revealed that Mu Li was formerly part of an underground organization and had planned to target Old Deng while in Xiangjiang, the old masters would’ve likely sent him to a military court as the best possible outcome.
"Oh? So you’re the one who gave him his name?" Old Master Loo suddenly paid attention to Situ Muli’s name.
"Yes, my master said that since he’ll be by my side, I should be the one to name him." Situ Xin now lied effortlessly, not even batting an eyelid.
"Well, since he was given to you by your master, you arrange for him to stay with us in the house," Old Master Situ seemed to relent.
Situ Muli, who had been tense and sweating since stepping out of the car, let out a light sigh of relief when he heard the words of Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo, thinking to himself, "That was close."
For a moment, he had feared that the old masters wouldn’t agree to let him stay.
When Loo Yaxin and the others came back from work that evening and saw a new face at home, they all looked puzzled.
However, after Old Master Situ’s explanation during dinner, everyone suddenly understood. Knowing that Situ Muli was sent especially to alleviate Situ Xin’s worries, they all began to show kindness towards Situ Muli.
This made Situ Muli feel unexpectedly honored. He hadn’t expected Situ Xin’s family to accept him so quickly.
