The Reborn Aristocrat's Daughter-Chapter 207 Invisibility Spell (2)_1
Chapter 207: Chapter 207 Invisibility Spell (2)_1
Situ Xin stood there holding Baibai, not moving forward or speaking. She simply looked at the three people opposite her with different expressions on their faces, generously giving them a broad smile.
Stirred by Secretary Xiao Li’s comment, Old Deng came back to his senses. "No need," Old Deng looked at Situ Xin, "Xiao Xin, why are you here?" Old Deng felt a headache coming on at the sight of her.
"Yes, Miss, why are you here?" Xiao Song, the security guard’s manner of addressing her as "Miss" was an order from Old Deng. Everyone used to call Situ Xin "Miss Situ," but after Old Deng took her as his god-daughter, he ordered everyone in the residence to call her "Little Miss" from then on.
As soon as Secretary Xiao Li heard Old Deng and Xiao Song referring to Situ Xin, he realized who the stunning young lady standing before them was. It was the darling of the Situ Family and Loo Family, his old chief’s god-daughter, who had been heard of but never seen in recent years. Now Xiao Li was wondering why Situ Xin was there, but he chose to keep quiet.
"Grandpa Deng, you ask why I’m here? Hmph, grandpa and grandfather have been keeping it a secret from me, thinking their security arrangements were excellent. Little do they know, I found out a long time ago," Situ Xin said with a charming smile, walking up to Old Deng with Baibai, grasping his arm with one hand.
"You little rascal, didn’t Grandpa Deng tell you last time? Grandpa isn’t going out to have fun, it’s serious business, and it can be dangerous," Old Deng just couldn’t get angry whenever Situ Xin acted coquettishly.
After hearing what Old Deng said, Situ Xin didn’t respond verbally, but thought to herself, "If you were just going out to play, I wouldn’t bother going."
"Girl, does your grandpa, your grandfather know you’re out this time?" Old Deng calmed down and then realized that Situ Xin must have sneaked out without her family’s knowledge.
"Yes, but I left them a note," Situ Xin replied.
Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo left for the airport after Old Deng boarded the plane, but before they reached home, they received a call from Old Madam Situ. She told them that Situ Xin had left a note saying she had gone to Xiangjiang with Old Deng.
As soon as Old Master Situ hung up the phone, he said to the driver, "Turn around, back to the airport."
"What’s happened, Situ?" Old Master Loo, who hadn’t heard the contents of the phone call, only saw Old Master Situ’s complexion change drastically after he hung up and asked, not knowing what had unfolded.
"Baby left a note saying she went to Xiangjiang with Old Deng." Old Master Situ was filled with worry – the dangers of this trip to Xiangjiang were crystal clear to them all.
"What? Baby went with Old Deng? How did she find out about it despite our careful secrecy? Who knows if we can still retrieve Baby from Old Deng in time?" While saying this, Old Master Loo told the driver to speed up, "Xiao Zhao, drive faster."
Situ Xin had no idea her departure had worried everyone from the Situ Family and Loo Family. She sat comfortably on the sofa, eating fruit she took out from her small bag.
Old Deng shook his head helplessly at the sight of the contented Situ Xin: "When we land, I will call your grandpa and grandfather about your schedule in Xiangjiang, but afterwards it’s up to them," Old Deng told Situ Xin and then instructed his security guard Xiao Song, "Go call Situ Che and Loo Jie over here."
Old Deng, being worried about Situ Xin, decided to have Situ Che and Loo Jie protect her once they got off the plane.
Situ Xin didn’t care about Old Deng’s plans at all; she was determined to stick around.
When Situ Che and Loo Jie were summoned by Old Deng’s security guard, the two exchanged glances, both at a loss as to why Old Deng wanted them. They were not talkative sorts, and despite their curiosity, they did not ask any questions, simply following quietly behind the security guard.
"Reporting, sir, Situ Che and Loo Jie have arrived," the security guard Xiao Song saluted and reported to Old Deng.
"Mhm," Old Deng responded succinctly.
When Situ Che and Loo Jie walked in and saw Situ Xin sitting on the sofa enjoying her fruit, they were both stunned. Loo Jie turned to Situ Che and said, "Che, am I seeing things? Is that Baby over there?"
"You’re not seeing things; that’s Baby. Even her Baibai is lying beside her," Situ Che recovered from the shock before Loo Jie.
"Brother Che, Brother Jie," greeted Situ Xin cheerfully.
"Baby, how come you’re here?" Loo Jie was unsettled. These past few days, their secrecy at home had been impeccable.
"If you can be here, why can’t I be here?" Situ Xin cheekily said, and while speaking, she made a face at Loo Jie.
If it weren’t for Situ Che feeling out of place, he would’ve surely pulled Situ Xin aside to give her a proper lesson.
"Ahem, Situ Che, Loo Jie, I’ve called you here to ask you to protect Little Xin once we land," Old Deng, feeling utterly ignored, had to cough to bring the attention back to himself.
"Grandpa Deng, no need for that! I’ll just stay close to you later, won’t I?" Situ Xin rebutted quickly before Situ Che or Loo Jie could respond, laughing at the idea – she was the one meant to protect others, not be protected.
But Old Deng had a different idea in his heart; being by his side was the most dangerous place for Situ Xin. "No, you’re going to part ways with me later." And without waiting for Situ Xin to reply, he spoke to Situ Che and Loo Jie, "After you two get off the plane with Little Xin, give a call to your grandfathers. I suppose the folk from both your families are worried about this young lady right now." While speaking, Old Deng couldn’t help but glower at Situ Xin.
However, those stern looks had little effect on Situ Xin, who continued to enjoy her fruit unaffectedly.
Situ Xin didn’t argue with Old Deng; she had her own plans in mind.
