The chamber was silent, save for the sound of their uneven breaths. Mushu's embrace was strong, protective, and unyielding. Sisu's heart still ached, but the burden of silence had lifted.

Two brothers, bound by blood and torn by forbidden love, now stood on the edge of a new battlefield — not of war, but of emotion. One carried love unreturned, the other carried compassion heavy as steel.

And in the stillness of Peonies Castle, both whispered into the darkness — one a plea, the other a vow.

Sisu: "I love you."

Mushu: "I'll protect you. Always."

The Days After the Confession: Sisu's Relief and Torment

The days following Sisu's confession were heavy with unspoken tension. The truth had been released, raw and trembling, yet it lingered in the air like incense — sweet, suffocating, impossible to ignore.

Sisu felt lighter, as though a great weight had been lifted from his chest. He no longer carried the crushing silence of his secret. Yet relief was tangled with torment. Mushu's compassion had soothed him, but the knowledge that his love could never be returned gnawed at him.

At meals, Sisu's eyes lingered on Mushu with a fragile hope, only to drop quickly when Mushu met his gaze.

During training, every gentle correction of his stance sent his heart racing, but now he knew Mushu's touch was only protective, not romantic.

At night, he lay awake, whispering into the pillow: "At least he knows. At least he didn't despise me."

Mushu's Struggle with Boundaries

Mushu, meanwhile, carried the burden of compassion. He had vowed not to shame Sisu, not to break him. But every gesture of kindness seemed to feed Sisu's longing.

He placed food on Sisu's plate but hesitated, wondering if the gesture might give false hope.

He offered water at night, but his hand trembled, fearing it might be misread.

He kept his distance during training, yet guilt gnawed at him when Sisu's eyes dimmed at the absence of touch.

Mushu's mind was a battlefield: 'How do I protect him without feeding his torment? How do I stand beside him without misleading him?'

Pharsa's Labor – The Halt of Everything

Just as the storm between the brothers threatened to deepen, the castle was thrown into chaos. Pharsa was going into labor.

The corridors were filled with hurried footsteps, hushed voices, and the scent of boiling herbs. Outside the birthing chamber, Chatty paced back and forth, Cannonball the Enfield perched nervously on his neck.

Chatty's chatterbox mouth couldn't stop, spilling words faster than the men around him could endure.

Chatty in rapid-fire:

"What if it's twins? Not triplets?

Do you think they'll have my nose?

Cannonball, do you think they'll cry out loud?

Oh heavens, what if they don't like me?

What if they call me Chatty instead of Papa?

Do you think I should buy them matching shoes?

Mushu, you've fought wars — tell me, is fatherhood harder than battle? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Four Eyes, don't glare at me, I'm nervous!

Fatty, stop sighing, you're making me more nervous!

Cannonball, don't peck me, I'm already dying here!"

Four Eyes, Fatty, Mushu, Rockie, Goldie, and Shun all pressed their hands to their ears, faces twisted in agony.

Fatty groaning:

"If he doesn't shut up, I'll faint before Pharsa does."

Ren and Lily, sitting nearby with the twins, burst into laughter at the sight of the men's crunch faces, their shoulders shaking as they tried to stifle giggles.

The Announcement

The door finally creaked open. Ling Li stepped out, her aura calm and commanding, her lips curved into a rare smile.

Ling Li, clear and resonant, announced,

"Murphy, congratulations — it's three boys!"

The hall erupted.

"Wow!"

"Congratulations!"

"This calls for a celebration!"

Chatty the Proud Peacock

Chatty froze, his mouth hanging open. Cannonball squawked triumphantly on his shoulder. Then, like a peacock unfurling its feathers, Chatty puffed out his chest, his eyes gleaming with pride.

Chatty's voice booming, dramatic.

"Three boys! Did you hear that?

Three! The heavens have blessed me thrice over!

Mushu, you fought wars, but I have won the most significant battle — fatherhood!

Fatty, you mocked me, but now I am the father of three warriors!

Four Eyes, stop glaring, you'll scare my sons!

Rockie, Goldie, Shun — bow before the proud father of triplets!"

He strutted across the corridor, arms spread wide, as if presenting himself to the world. His voice carried like a trumpet, echoing through the castle.

Chatty, laughing, teary-eyed:

"They will be strong, they will be brave, they will carry my name!

Cannonball, you're an uncle now!

Ren, Lily, tell the twins they have three cousins to protect them!

Oh heavens, I am blessed beyond measure!"

The men groaned, clutching their ears again, but beneath their exasperation, smiles tugged at their lips. Even Mushu's stoic mask cracked into a faint grin.

Even Cannonball folded his poor, tiny ears.

The joy of new life momentarily halted the storm of Mushu and Sisu's emotions. The castle rang with laughter, groans, and Chatty's endless proclamations of pride.

Pharsa rested inside, her strength radiant. Chatty strutted outside like a peacock, his voice booming, his heart swelling with love for his three sons.

And in that moment, Peonies Castle was filled not with torment, but with celebration — family, laughter, and the promise of a new generation.

Chatty the Proud Peacock – Naming His Sons

Outside Pharsa's chamber, the corridor still buzzed with joy. Cannonball the Enfield perched on Chatty's neck, feathers puffed proudly as if he shared in his master's triumph. Yet Chatty paced in circles, his chest puffed out and his booming voice louder than ever.

Chatty's mind raced. His mouth kept pace, even outstripping anyone's patience.

Chatty, excitedly rambles,

"Three boys! I need names worthy of warriors! Thunderbolt, Lightning, Storm? Too dramatic. Maybe Dumpling, Bun, Noodle — cute, right? No, maybe Cannonball Jr., Cannonball II, and III! Imagine the chaos!"

Four Eyes groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose and shooting Chatty a glare, exasperation flashing in his furrowed brow.

"If you name them after food, I'll personally rename them. I mean it." Four Eyes declared.

Fatty slapped his forehead, shaking his head in disbelief as he let out a long sigh. "Thunderbolt? Storm? They're children, not a weather forecast!"

Family Members Join In

The others couldn't resist joining the fray.

Rockie, grinning, said, "Name them Boulder, Pebble, and Stone. Strong, solid, unshakable!"

"No, no. Treasure, Jewel, and Gem. They'll shine like gold!" Goldie protested with a smirk.

Shun seriously suggested, "Discipline, Honor, and Duty. Names that remind them of their path."

Ren, laughing with Lily, interjected, "How about Giggle, Wiggle, and Snuggle? They'll match their father's chaos perfectly!"

The twins squealed with laughter, clapping their hands at the silly suggestions.
