The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 327: Sleeping beauty - I*
The room was devoid of his presence here. I could feel him in every inch of the room. It was his and it felt like it. After the small conversation, it took me a lot of strength to get up and out of the room.
The execution was meant to be carried out at dawn which by the looks of the sky, was going to come sooner than I would have liked. Something made it fairly certain that I was going to witness it.
I did try to talk to his aunt, but I received the same answer from her as well.
There was nothing I could do that would change the mind of anyone. In fact, she went as far as to say that ’I had already sacrificed what I had and I no longer had anything left’.
"Would you like to eat something?" Anna asked. "It is equivalent to noon. Shall I call for lunch?"
"Do they not have lunch together?"
"They do." She answered, "but at the moment they are busy with the preparations of the execution and the upcoming marriage of the king."
Marriage of the king.
And the execution.
"How unconventional and Ominous it is to use the words marriage and execution together in a sentence." I murmured, thinking of how my mother would react if she heard someone say her. She would cleanse their mouth with holy water.
The thought of my mother made me realise how far I had come. After losing her, I had looked up to Queen Annatasia as someone who could aid me in becoming a future queen and someone who could replace the longing I felt for a mother in my life.
That had gone disastrously bad.
Now I had no one to look up to. My sister was far away and I no longer had her ambition to drive me to my goals nor did I have little Catherine, whom I could go to great lengths to protect.
I had no one.
"What is it you think of gravely?" Anna, march to my surprise, Lowered herself next to my seat on the ground and a curious expression took to her face.
I frowned. I did not like the fact that she was interrupting my thoughts since I finally had some peace to think about it clearly. "Why do you want to know?"
"Maybe I might be able to help.."
"Or certainly tell everyone else about it, especially the king." I pointedly corrected her. "I am very well aware of where your loyalties lie and whom. It would not be very smart of me to tell you what I am thinking about."
"You are going to be my queen one day. My loyalty is going to come to you first and I would like to build the bond in between us, your grace."
"Bond?" Was the bond in between two Beloveds not enough?
"Yes," Anna confirmed. "Amongst the many differences that humans and we have, the bond is one of them. Not only is it felt between lovers, people feel it among themselves when they create it. The bloodline of the king created all of us, which is why we feel a sense of loyalty to him. So when you become his beloved officially, we fill the loyalty to you and bond is further extended." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
That made complete sense. The bond that they felt to Tristan would be extended to me as well. Anna wanted to get a head start to that bond.
"Why should you bond with me first? Dorothy should be the one who should feel it towards me first." I narrowed my eyes on her. "You have Been judgemental towards me from the very beginning. What was it that you did not like about me?"
Anna gulped. The discomfort she felt from my question was visible on her face but I did not back town. I had been meaning to ask her since I had been in the kingdom of the north.
"Well?" I snapped. "Hurry up."
"I And many others did not appreciate the fact that you left our king. We thought that you would complete the bond.." she looked away, "but you left. That is highly frowned upon."
"I see." Not really. I did not see it.
The time to dawn was approaching and I could not stand it any longer. I had to do something because there was no way that I could witness something like that.
Anna would never bring me something to help me sleep willingly. Even if I told her it was for a nap, she would never give me any kind of medication.
But...
"Anna," I sighed and shifted uncomfortable before continuing, "can you brew some bugsberry leaves? I would like to have the tea made out of it without milk."
"Oh," she got up immediately, "I am not sure if the kitchen have it—"
"They would." I knew they would. "Go."
She must have used the speed that was given to her as a vampire because it within minutes, I had tea in front of me and it was still hot.
The smell was the same. So, it was bugsberry and it tasted the same as well.
"Are you unwell?" anna scowled. "It smells like an herb."
"It is a herb." I confirmed. " it helps you in sleeping. In fact, it can make you fall asleep instantly."
I glanced at the bottom of the cup. Only a few sips left. "See, by the end of the cup, I would be falling asleep."
"What?!" Anna shouted at the top of her lungs. "What? Why would you require tea to fall asleep?! You were supposed to be witnessing the execution!"
I smiled at her. She was dancing around in the room and my eyes struggled to see her clearly. They were dropping and I knew that the tea was showing its effects.
"Good night, Anna." I Whispered before lying down on the sofa, "I shall see you soon." Or never.
