The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 314: The plea of the Queen - II
It was impossible to control my tears but I tried to do the best I could to control them. But eventually, a few of them slipped from my eyes and they were now red, much to the dismay of Anna, the head of the household staff.
"You need to control yourself," she hissed in anger. "What will you do when they all will be hanged?"
Hanged? Why did you have to mention it again and again? What is saying once not enough for her?
I had to do something about it. I could not just sit idly.
"Where is the king?" As far as I knew, Tristan would already be at the grounds of the execution. Ready to carry it out the moment everyone arrived.
"In his quarters, I think. Would you like me to confirm?" Was it me or was Anna being unceremoniously sarcastic with me this morning?
"No," I thought that Tristan could only be in his apartment at the moment. "I want to go to him first."
Anna stopped and I mimicked her actions. She turned to me and I told her eyes, "what are you planning at?"
I did not like the way she talked to Me. Never have I ever been talked down by anyone who was not my elder, or someone with more power than I did. Never had I certainly been talked down to by a servant.
"Nothing," I said, trying to keep my heart beat level because that was how Tristan understood what was wrong and right with me. Something Sir Walter had explained to me.
"No,it is not nothing," Anna said, not buying what I had just told her. "You are planning something. You definitely are and I will not stand for it. Traitors need to be punished."
Traitors deserve to be punished. And I was all for it. But what about the people that were suffering already and we were just desperately looking for a way out?
Even though I was against the meaning staff, I was not against the idea completely to tell them where they were and where I was and here I was a lady. Someone with some title as opposed to someone like a housekeeper.
I stepped closer to the vampiress before levelling her with my stare. "I want to go to Tristan before I go down and face the execution. Now, are you going to take me there or do I have to go on my own?"
At first, Anna stared at me and then I noticed an action. Her neck started to twitch and she started to borrow her head lightly even though she appeared to be fighting it.
"I-I Will take you," she said in one breath before turning around and walking away from me leaving me to follow her.
Shaking my head and having enough of it already, I followed behind at a lazy pace.
I knew where his quarters were. So I was in no hurry.
Nokul was someone I found in front of his doors and the moment I was just ten steps away from the doors where he stood, he nodded and opened the doors for me still keeping his eyes on my feet.
My heart thudded across my chest as if I was running for my life, maybe I was but for someone else’s.
He closed the door behind me and I waited patiently right in front of the doors with my back turned towards them.
I did not sit down in the seating area nor did I move to cross the seating area to his bedroom.
I do not know how many minutes I kept on standing because I was not invited inside. He did not appear as well and after a while my legs started to ache.
"Genevive,"
My head snapped into the direction of the Voice and I found Tristan leaning on the door of his bedroom. "What can I help you with?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
I blinked and strengthened my resolve for what I was about to do.
Licking my lips, I started, "I don’t want you to go ahead with the execution and if you choose to do what I want, I will do something you want from me in return."
He titled his head and watched as I was something to be observed carefully. "And what is it that you can give to me but I cannot already seek for myself?"
"Anything."
"Anything?" He said slowly, in a question as if testing the words on his lips. "Does anything consider everything in it?"
"Yes." I nodded. It did.
Tristan stayed silent for a few minutes. "Why?" He asked. "why are you offering me to do anything to you, to ask anything of you for people that do not matter?"
"Those people will be forgotten before the next day begins. Their lives do not matter." He looked at me with a heated gaze, "at least not as much yours."
I sighed loudly. "My mother once told me that every life matters. If not to us, that matters to someone else."
"Does it?" He murmured And Began to work towards me, lazily with no haste as if he had all the time in the world and we were not waiting for an execution.
I nodded.
"then I suppose it matters with how many lives I’m going to take today."
"Yes, it does." I agreed.
He nodded again, finally coming to stand in front of me, stopping just two steps away.
"If you care about them so much, then give me everything, Genevive." His eyes didn’t even deter from mine, " everything."
"E-everything?" I stammered and he nodded.
"Yes, everything."
When I did not say anything, Tristan took a step closer making me take a step back.
"I mean it, Genevive. I want everything. I want to own you and the only way this execution will stop, is when you will give me everything you have."
My back touched the door, making me turn around and look at it, and before I knew it, Tristan was right in front of me.
"So tell me," he lips curled up into a smirk, "how important are these people?"
