The Princess Kidnapping System Made Me OP-Chapter 66: From The Heavens
Chapter 66: From The Heavens
"Wise!" Freya screamed, standing at the edge of the ship as she watched Wise get launched into the sky.
He had been hit by the spiked tentacles with so much force that they could feel the tremor of the impact from where they stood.
Daphne had launched her shadow, but at this distance, the shadow was not strong enough to stop the beast.
Now, Daphne was staring at the scene, wide eyed with her teeth gritted, while Esme’s hand was tightened on the railings, as she looked on with a worried look on her face.
Only Aofie seemed unconcerned; instead, she watched the fight as though she were at the arena.
Now that Wise was out of the way, the Kraken fixed its eyes on their ship, and then it let out a guttural sound oddly similar to laughter.
The sea guard captain was still out of it, curled up into a ball at the other end of the ship while his subordinates seemed far too terrified to face the beast.
Daphne was already summoning the shadows to rise from the sides of the ship, and Freya had a feeling she was about to do something as risky as jumping into the water.
But just before Daphne could do so, they saw a flash in the sky.
***
"Transform."
Wise’s body suddenly expanded many times over. His soft human skin darkened, tuning blue and hardened like rocks, his hair disappeared and his head morphed, his teeth turning long and sharp.
Breathtaking wings tore through his back, and a long tail protruded from his spine, spanning several meters.
Wise flapped his wings, ascending higher into the air until he could feel the sun’s heat with more intensity.
He felt.. alive.
The sun reflected against his scales, the rocky covering glistening like sapphires, and his eyes gained a faint glow as he basked in its embrace.
And the dove headfirst—
The clouds blew past him, their moist composition dampening his skin as he tore through them.
He sucked in a deep breath, his lungs brimming with oxygen and then he caused a spark deep within his lungs.
The flames bubbled like a chemical reaction, sparkling and igniting within his lungs.
And yet, Wise kept it there...
He compressed the heat, increasing its intensity up until the point that even he could feel the intensity of the fire.
With one ear piercing howl, Wise unleashed the gust of flames, sending it charging in the direction of the Kraken.
[DRACONIC BREATH!]
Bubbling blue flames tore through the clouds with a destructive intensity.
The very air was burnt, the clouds parted, and the world heated as they came crashing down against the kraken, causing a thunderous explosion.
BOOOM!!
The waters trembled, the ocean becoming unstable as the Kraken staggered, teetering to the side.
The fire licked its body, curling around the skull and latching onto its skin like hellish flames.
SCREEECH!!
The Kraken screamed in pain, its tentacles moving unably at its sides.
But Wise was not done.
He boosted the speed of his descent with a massive flap of his wings, and then he transformed back— speeding towards the Kraken’s skull like an arrow.
Just as he was approaching the beast, Wise engulfed his hands with his blue flames. The fire exploded in intensity, becoming so large that it was as though he held a fragment of the sun in his grip.
He pulled his fist back...
Blood was gushing from his body due to his injuries, his body felt sore, and his head foggy, but Wise shrugged it off.
All for this final hit!
Combining the speed of his descent with the bubbling flames, Wise delivered a blow capable of cleaving the heavens.
[SKYYYYYY PIERCERRRRR!!!!]
WHOOOM!
As Wise’s fist made contact with the skull, a shock wave exploded circularly, along with a wave of heat that crashed into the ship.
The skull exploded, bits of it melting underneath the intensity of the heat, water turned into steam and steam vapourised into nothing.
The entire half of the skull was obliterated by both consecutive strikes.
The water became misty, a blanket of fog moving from the point of impact to the entire ship, making it difficult for those onboard to see through the fog.
There was a deafening silence, the aftermath of such catalytic destruction.
"What was that attack? Is he a famous adventurer?" A man asked, his mouth hanging open in awe.
"No, that power... he must be a hero and nothing else!"
"A hero? He must be an Eastern Fire mage. I’ve heard of them, one mage could slay a hundred demons without breaking a sweat!"
"That Kraken is toast, I guess we are having squid for dinner!" One of the sea guards said, a large smile on his face.
The passengers were already beginning to cheer when a particularly ominous looking girl cautioned them.
"Keep quiet, all of you!" Daphne said, silencing the passengers.
She stared into the steam, her eyes locked on even the slightest movement.
"What is it Daph?" Esme asked, watching the steam as well.
Daphne’s breath caught in her throat. "Do you hear that?
Everyone stopped, some even stopped breathing as they tried to figure out what the girl was hearing.
"I don’t hear a thin—"
"Shhhh!" Someone cautioned.
Their ocean was not entirely silent, there was a gentle humming sound coming from everywhere around them.
It was like the sound of a howling wind with a small added bubbling effect of rushing water.
"I hear it..." One of the sea guards said as he began to walk toward the side of the ship.
"I think... its coming from over—"
The man froze, his legs trembling as he stared ahead of him.
Right at the edge of the ship, charging down at them was a tentacle the size of a whale, with bloodied sharp spikes.
"K-K-KRAKEN!!"
**
Daphne kept her focus on the water, squinting her eyes to observe it closely. That was when she saw something...
A bright blue glow that was surrounding the entire ship. The water began to tremble as though bubbling, and the ship was rattling as well.
Something was coming...
At the same time, she heard a
scream from the other side of the ship.
The Kraken was very much alive.
