The Primordial Record-Chapter 1422 Cloudy And The Unwanted Passenger (final)
Chapter 1422 Cloudy And The Unwanted Passenger (final)
What was clasped between the links of his chains was an Old One, even if it was only a Memory, but Rowan's strength and weapon could not be denied. His physique was already so powerful reality could not hold him, and only the unknown power of Eos that sealed all his strength into a vessel that could resist the fragility of reality allowed him to walk among immortals, what was the strength of a mere Memory against such a mighty.
He hurled on the chains, his Wills and those of the chains grasping the Memory of Drakul firmly, and then when he saw that his purchase was firm, he rocketed backward, pulling the screaming Old One out of the body of the Cloud Whale, who had been on the verge of taking over the body of the Cloud Whale.
Even though he was as delicate as possible, the body of the Cloud Whale was nearly shredded to pieces from forcefully tearing away Drakul from his conquest and Rowan quickly sent a burst of healing creation energy into the body of Cloudy.
With a gesture with his left hand, a pillar of blueish-white light slammed on the Memory of Drakul who had not yet recovered from the shock of being dragged out of his prey and he was blown by the power of Astrolabe into another dimension countless light years away from this place, Rowan glanced at the Cloud Whale to confirm that he was stable before the same light covered him and he vanished, reappearing a few miles from the snarling Memory.
This dimension had already been sealed by his dimensional soul and he was roaming outside of it, refortifying the seals to ensure that the Memory of Drakul was laid to rest without any unknown factor disturbing the battle, of course it meant that his dimensional body was trapped here with the Old One, but this was a bet that he was willing to take.
Rowan had observed this creature from the eyes of his children, and so what they saw was naturally far less than what he could see, which was a good thing because he suspected that if they saw the entirety of Drakul, then madness and death were a kind fate for them.

Many parts of this creature were decipherable to him, but he could not yet understand them; however, his make-up was still far simpler than a being like a Primordial Eye whose fragments had been taken apart by him. It was only a matter of time and resources, and he would understand what made Drakul tick, yet Rowan felt that he would be disappointed by that answer, this ancient Vampire was only valuable to him because of the wealth of soul energy and the memories that he would gain, his powers or abilities were almost next to worthless in his sight.
As he peered deeper into Drakul, he soon noticed that this Memory was breaking down, and this process was increasingly getting faster.
Tiny pieces of his Memory were falling away towards what Rowan would consider to be the core of Drakul's being, and his overall power was constantly dropping, but it did not mean that he was dying or was becoming less dangerous; in fact, it was the opposite: Drakul was becoming stronger because he was transforming his Memory into a Soul.
Rowan was watching the process by which an Old One reacquired their powers, and it would seem that before he dragged out the Memory of Drakul from the body of Cloudy, the Old One had been able to feast on the unique powers of the Cloud Whale, thereby accelerating his process of reawakening.
As much as watching this process was enlightening to Rowan, he still wanted to kill Drakul before he recovered more of his powers, and even though Drakul gaining a soul would make him susceptible to Rowan's dominion over souls, that would also mean the Will of Drakul would be awakened, and soon his flesh, he was not willing to fight an Old One on this terms, even if he would still be extremely weak, without essence or Aether to power his abilities.
It was tempting to fully watch this process, but Rowan could not risk it. The voice of Drakul drew him from his introspection,
"What are you?!..." The Memory of Drakul asked with avid curiosity, "Why is reality around you… incomplete?" The Old One seemed to have forgotten his irritation and anger from being drawn out of the body of the Cloud Whale as his gaze over Rowan's blurry form grew fiery. Drakul could not sense much threat from Rowan, in fact, he could not sense anything at all, but there were signs around a higher dimensional entity that could not be hidden, and Rowan did not have it, however, this piqued his curiosity even more because he had sensed the power that dragged him out of the flesh of that Cloud Whale and it was nothing short of remarkable.
Drakul thought that Rowan should not be an immortal but a sentient weapon, it was a crazy leap in logic, but everything seemed to fit. A lower-dimensional immortal could not look upon the Memory of an Old One without being corrupted by them, and Drakul could sense no give in the mind of the soul of this person in front of him.
Despite what Drakul may be thinking, Rowan thought that it was strange that he was technically looking at a Memory of someone who was once alive yet still retained all of his senses, making it almost indistinguishable from a real person.
Looking at the space around him as was pointed out by the Old One, Rowan frowned and the blurriness surrounding him smoothened out before they vanished, and even Eva would not be able to find any flaws in his surroundings.
He had not been able to fully deceive reality around him because he lacked energy, but now with the energy of the Supreme Circle constantly filling his body with all the power that he wanted, it was a simple thing to complete the process, enhancing the power of his Will of Truth, which was the main backbone of this process.
Rowan spread his hands wide and spoke to the Old One, "Tell me, Drakul, do you see any imperfections around me?" The Old One suddenly stepped backward as if he had been punched in the face, the words of Rowan seemingly having much more weight than they should have,
"Imperfections? You can reshape the fundamental forces behind this reality around us? Are you a Prime Candidate? If that is the case I apologize for my indiscretion, and I will take my leave."
Rowan appeared a bit amused, "No need for all of that theatrics Drakul, I'm not a Prime Candidate or whatever you call them, and no you will not be leaving here with your life, I just want to know if the reality around my body is perfect, but I guess if you will not tell me…"
The space around them suddenly quaked as massive chains in the billions poured down like rain on the startled Memory of Drakul, all carrying enough weight to crush a thousand universes and filled with a destructive Will that could destabilize even the Memory of an Old One,
"... I will be taking my answers from your soul."
A cry of anger and rage erupted from below the endless mass of chains that had surrounded the Memory of Drakul and were rotating widely, placing the Old One into a grinder that was straight from hell.
Rowan held out his left hand, and despite not yet activating his bloodlines, the power of creation filled it and a massive bow was created out of nothing, and in his right hand the power of destruction gathered and three great arrows were made, and he set them against the string of this bow and he slowly pulled backward.
Mighty rumbles emerged from within the spin ball of chains that shook the surrounding space, but Rowan's experimentation with his power over space was not restricted to simply deceiving it, he had learned to strengthen it as well, and if Drakul thought he would be escaping by shattering space, then it was in for a nasty surprise.
However, the power of an Old One was unfathomable, he was rapidly losing his Memories but the strength of his soul was beginning to blaze like a red star as unknown words of power that were both archaic and intensely foul were spewed from his mouth and a large hole was blasted in the ball of spinning chains. Rowan's first arrow tore space asunder as it pierced through this hole, slamming into the forehead of Drakul, the other two entered both of his eyes; the Memory did not have time to be surprised before the arrow imploded.
"Seal!" Rowan roared and the hole blasted by Drakul was closed up once more as the chain kept spinning, grinding the Old One to nothing.
Rowan raised his right hand once more and another three arrows made from destruction were materialized.
