Chapter 1419 New Weapon

In comparison to the weapons Rowan could now create, the Sin Weapons did not seem to be that spectacular, their abilities while not easy to duplicate were not all that powerful in the grand scheme of things and he should be able to obtain better abilities using any of his spells, but there was something about these weapons that called to the brutal nature that he had within him.

Regaining his soul had brought Rowan back to the times when he was a mortal and he could feel his heart nearly beating out of his chest from fear, anger, resolve, and other myriad emotions, both negative and positive, and he knew that in those emotions there was power. A sort of power that he had disregarded for long but was slowly being resurrected inside of him. After spending what seemed like an eternity as a machine with a goal that could only be achieved at the pinnacle of his existence, now he was simply enjoying living every day as he saw fit.

The anticipation of a battle against a strong foe was exciting again, and instead of just plotting every single move that would be made in advance, he was anticipating making those moves and seeing what surprises were in store for him. The previous him hated surprises, and now he was more open to finding them in unexpected places and situations.

However, Rowan was still pragmatic, he was going to be fighting a Memory of an Old One, and from his experience with Shisu, the Ascendant of Pain. The Sin Weapons that were patterned after negative emotions seemed to have a greater suppression effect on Memories, unlike normal weapons.

These weapons fed on emotions, and using it against a Memory would rapidly degrade the integrity of that Memory, making it easier for Rowan to go for the final killing blow. He had planned to begin hunting the eighth-dimensional immortals he had freed when he reached the sixth or even the seventh dimension, but the present situation had forced his hand, and he would have to begin his campaign in the next few moments that were rapidly approaching.

Envy and Pride materialized in his right palm, they took the singular form of a gigantic axe, whose shaft resembled the handle of a guitar, a faint astral wind blew across him at this time, and yet strings of Pride played an echo of the last song he had made at his final battle while inside the universe. This was the last time he had used these weapons, and in their own way, they were showing him that they had not forgotten that battle, and every moment they had been wielded by him was a gift.

These two Sin Weapons had been fused in the past, and their powers had merged and evolved. Rowan observed the weapon closely as if looking for any defect; he was a Weapon Master, and even the most minute of irregularities would have been detected by him… these Weapons passed with flying color, which was strange when they were still not worthy to be ranked among higher dimensional weapons. However, they were rapidly growing to that level.

At this point, Rowan would rate them to be at the peak of Apocalypse Grade Weapons. He was sure that this merger with the latest Sin Weapon he had acquired might push them further, making them in the realm of Dominion Grade Weapons, a step below Proto-Source level weapons.

On his left ring finger, a massive reddish-gold ring appeared- Wrath, the face of the ring was of a snarling beast that resembled a lion. This Sin Weapon that he obtained from Shisu had been used in his last battle by his final Reflection, but when he began challenging Old Ones, Singularities, and Fragments of Primordials, Wrath became a weapon that had less use for him in a battle of this scale, if he has used it, then a single slash from the halberd of time used by Gothra'Inul would have destroyed this weapon in its entirety, leaving the chance for its resurrection to be slim, if not impossible.

It did not help that he would have been using a single Sin Weapon in that battle when he had long noticed that these weapons were made to work together and were never intended for them to be used separately, and this truth was displayed when the appearance of Wrath in his left hand triggered a resonance between all three weapons and Rowan was surrounded by a tri-colored halo as the three Sin Weapons flew out of his grasp and they began combining.

This process was extremely magical requiring no input from him, but the benefits with every new Sin Weapon he acquired were tangible.

However, Rowan acknowledged that this combination process was also something that was never meant to happen. Originally, the Sin Weapons were supposed to consume the other and strengthen their base power, each weapon being antagonistic to the other because they were being wielded by different individuals. At least this was what every other user except for Rowan had been able to achieve with these weapons. They could not combine them, only feed them to the particular Sin Weapon they possessed.

He had not forced this combination at the start, it was simply a decision made by Envy and Pride when they discovered that if either of them consumed each other, the power that they would have after this process was completed would be lesser than if they combined. If that had happened, Rowan would have never used these weapons in his final battle in the universe.

If it was any other immortal that held these two weapons, neither would have taken the step to pursue a combination because such a thing would be a waste because no single immortal would be able to excavate all the potential of these weapons and for as long as they could remember, they had always been shrinking their powers to fit the capabilities of their wielders.

In the case of Rowan, they faced a different dilemma, they were too weak to enter his eyes.

How could these proud weapons be willing to be so easily cast aside, so they both chose to combine and this process was about to repeat itself with the addition of Wrath.

They were not consuming this Sin Weapon, instead, they were combining with it.

With his growing understanding of the root of these weapons, he inferred that they must have been much more powerful in the past, but every time they were destroyed, they would return in the future but with far less power than they originally had. If he followed that stream of thought it meant that there must be an immortal who possessed a Sin Weapon of unimaginable power, and if he continued this process of merging instead of consumption, he might enter the radar of this immortal in the future. That would certainly be… interesting.

®

The combination happened extremely quickly and Rowan could glean most of the processes of this merger, and it was quite fascinating. He made sure that he remembered all the steps that were taken by the weapons during this process because it was a window into their history. Rowan was a forger of weapons, and even with his expertise, he still acknowledged that these weapons were extremely special and that there was still much to learn from them.

Unlike Bleeding Edge, which was a complete Primordial Weapon, the Sin Weapons had been scattered, broken down repeatedly in the past to lesser versions of themselves, and now they needed to be placed together before their entire might could be revealed and satisfy the interest of Rowan, he could not find a better tool for learning higher forging methods than with these weapons.

He could understand this process with relative ease for a weapon that he suspected might be at the Primordial Rank at its peak. ®

The simplest method for Rowan to describe what was happening during the merger of the three Sin Weapons was intense dialogue. Envy and Pride had reached a delicate balance, each serving the other and boosting their overall performance to greater heights. The inclusion of Wrath into their dynamic would throw the carefully crafted balance into disarray, and it was being grilled rigorously by the two weapons as a new state of balance was being created, and the three Sin Weapons began to grow closer physically and spiritually.

Their intense dialogue created sparks in the air, and it was not long before Rowan realized that the sparks were something extremely remarkable; he was seeing the birth of Will in a manner that he had never observed before.

At this point, he had observed many immortals reaching the state of Will, but they were always the singular effort of an individual, and Rowan had no idea that a common Will could be born due to the combination of uncommon elements.

Envy, Pride, and Wrath were three separate sentient weapons, whose mannerisms and characteristics were extremely far apart, and Rowan believed that if not for his supreme strength that made him capable of forcing these weapons to cooperate, then it would have been impossible for them to merge, and now, he was witnessing a birth of an unknown Will by bringing another extreme factor into this merger.

This discovery at this stage stunned him due to its implications, as there were many avenues that this discovery might have just opened to him and he needed to urgently go back to the drawing board and begin figuring out what he needed to do with this new information.

Even as he was contemplating this new discovery, the merger was finalized, and a new weapon holding a new Will was born, which automatically pushed the combined Sin Weapons past the Dominion Level that he had first inferred to be a Proto-Source level weapon!

There was a dull rumble that shook the surrounding space for countless miles until they impacted the edge of this dead universe that Rowan was residing, and they would have continued spreading out for an unknown distance but a great suppressive force arose that dragged back all the potential into the merged weapons that were now floating in front of Rowan.
