The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 104
"Is something wrong?"
Lost in thought, Tae-seo jolted at the sound of Yoon Seok-hoon’s voice. Only then did he remember he was sitting with his parents. He quickly shook his head.
“It’s nothing serious.”
Even after that answer, Yoon Seok-hoon continued to stare at him, concern clouding his gaze. Sitting close by, Kim Mi-kyung reached out to gently stroke Tae-seo’s cheek.
“You look even more out of it since you came back.”
Feeling a bit awkward, Tae-seo rubbed his cheek where her hand had been. He’d gone out saying he was going to see Se-heon, but came back looking dazed—that probably seemed strange to them.
“I was just worried. He looked really busy.”
Tae-seo let out a weak smile. Seeing the roughness of Se-heon’s skin and the shadows around his eyes had left him more unsettled than he expected. It wasn’t even that things were going badly—just that he was overwhelmed. And yet, it kept gnawing at him.
That’s why he’d ended up staying up all night watching Se-heon sleep.
“Times like this... I just wish Blessing would be born already. That way I could focus on taking care of him without feeling so helpless.”
Even if he couldn’t help with work, he could at least stick by him, make sure he ate. But being pregnant made that impossible. If he followed him around, he’d only make Se-heon worry.
Sensing what was going through their son’s head, Kim Mi-kyung nodded gently in time with Tae-seo’s sigh.
“It’ll get better, little by little.”
Her soft voice helped ease the knot in Tae-seo’s chest. Ever since he started spending more time with his parents, conversations like this had become more common. He’d go out of his way to visit, share tea or meals—not anything grand, but enough.
Se-heon already fussed over his meals so much that Tae-seo was steadily gaining weight, and his parents’ affection was no less intense.
Choosing to live as Yoon Tae-seo had, in every way, been the right decision.
“Loving parents, the person I love, and a child we love together—Blessing.”
“I really am glad I told you both everything.”
Nothing had been resolved, but at least he’d regained enough peace to smile again. As Tae-seo’s expression lightened, Kim Mi-kyung gently shifted the conversation.
“I’ve actually been dealing with something new myself lately. Want to hear it?”
“You, Mom?”
“That’s right.”
Instead of answering directly, Kim Mi-kyung looked over at Yoon Seok-hoon. He took a sip of tea and gave a small nod. Watching the silent signals pass between them, Tae-seo tilted his head in confusion.
What were they about to say?
“We were originally going to wait until you graduated college to tell you.”
Kim Mi-kyung looked him straight in the eye as she continued.
“We’re going to hand the hotel over to you.”
The suddenness of it made Tae-seo instinctively glance around the office. Despite having a headquarters elsewhere, his parents had insisted on having a workspace inside the hotel—because they wanted to keep a close eye on things themselves.
The way they regularly made rounds, personally inspecting the hotel, made it obvious how much they loved it. And now they were saying they’d pass that same hotel down to him? His chest grew heavy for no clear reason.
“You’re our only child. Of course, if you’d prefer to bring in a professional manager, we’re open to that.”
Kim Mi-kyung spoke carefully, not wanting to pressure him.
“But I’d really love it if you could take it on yourself—out of affection for the place.”
“...It’s not just one hotel, is it?”
Even one would be overwhelming—but it wasn’t just one. Was she talking about all the hotels he used to joke about as being part of a real-life Monopoly game? The answer came from Yoon Seok-hoon.
“We’re still young. We’ll give you plenty of time. No need to rush. If you prepare steadily, you’ll be more than capable of leading the hotel.”
“You really think I can do it?”
Caught off guard, Tae-seo mumbled the question like he was only half-conscious.
“Of course you can. You’re our son.”
As Kim Mi-kyung reached out to affectionately rub his shoulder, Yoon Seok-hoon set a paper envelope down on the table.
“It’s an invitation to an investor presentation. A lot of major investors will be there. It’d be good for you to come and observe.”
“Ah...”
So that’s why they were bringing this up now, despite saying there was no rush.
The hotel they were building on a plot of land overseas was nearly complete. This must be the event tied to that.
“We’ll give you a separate copy of the presentation materials. But... we’d like you to hand-deliver that invitation.”
“To whom?”
Tae-seo glanced at the envelope but didn’t see a name written anywhere.
“To Se-heon?”
“That’s right.”
“He invested in it?”
So that’s why they wanted him to deliver it? But Kim Mi-kyung smiled and shook her head.
“No, he wasn’t the first person to show interest in this project. But it’s funny how fate works sometimes.”
She looked over at Yoon Seok-hoon, and he continued the explanation.
“There’s someone who invested but never interfered—not once. Never attended a single formal meeting, never showed his face. In fact... none of the other investors even know who he is.”
The cryptic tone of it made Tae-seo ask:
“You’re not talking about Se-heon?”
Kim Mi-kyung chuckled and shook her head again.
“No. I only ever heard his name from Se-heon.”
She left just enough of a clue for Tae-seo to start piecing it together. If they were asking him to deliver the invitation, it had to be someone close. But it wasn’t Se-heon. And it was someone who had never shown up publicly...
“Kang Hak-jung... the Chairman?”
“That’s right.”
Kim Mi-kyung picked up the invitation herself and placed it into Tae-seo’s hand.
“I don’t think the Chairman would come even if we gave it to him directly, so I thought maybe we should hand it to Se-heon instead.”
“Is that really okay?”
“Of course it is. It’s a chance to show that we’re doing well. And if Se-heon’s going to pass on the message, he’ll need to see it for himself.”
Tae-seo turned the invitation over in his hand.
‘He’s so busy... is it really okay to invite him to something like this?’
Part of him wanted to tell Se-heon in person, especially considering how much his parents wanted to pass the hotel down to him. But another part hesitated—wouldn’t he just be adding to Se-heon’s already heavy load?
Sensing the hesitation, Kim Mi-kyung spoke up lightly.
“The presenter has a really nice voice—soft-spoken, easy on the ears. Plus, the whole atmosphere will be dark. Perfect for a quick nap, don’t you think?”
Only then did a smile finally spread across Tae-seo’s face. This really was a good opportunity.
****
‘Guess I wasn’t the only one who thought this was a good opportunity.’
As he glanced around the venue, Tae-seo felt the eyes on him—but he didn’t bother avoiding them. He had sent the invitation to Se-heon through one of the secretaries and hadn’t seen him directly.
When he heard that Se-heon would be coming, he arrived a bit early—but it seemed someone else had also decided today was their moment. That persistent gaze, clinging to him like static, refused to let go.
He’d kept a low profile, wandering the halls now and then but avoiding the spotlight, which only fueled people’s curiosity about him.
“Are they staring because I’m Se-heon’s Omega? Or because I’m the son of the hotel owners?”
...Maybe both?
The staring was intense enough that it felt like they’d burn a hole in his face. He tapped his cheek with his fingertips.
“When is Se-heon going to show up?”
It was hard handling all these looks on his own. Not that he wasn’t sitting there like he owned the place, but still.
“But there’s something off about some of those stares...”
Too hostile to be just curiosity. Too familiar to be random interest.
‘Where have they seen me before?’
Judging by how young their faces looked, maybe they were here on behalf of their parents. He scanned the room casually, glancing sideways—and met eyes with someone. That group immediately stood up and started walking toward him.
Three young men, around his age.
He looked at them one by one: the one with narrow, slanted eyes, the one with thin lips, and the one with a sharp hawk-like nose.
“It’s been a while, huh?”
Do I know you?—He didn’t ask, but it didn’t ring any bells. That said, this seemed more like a matter of Tae-seo’s lack of interest.
“When you suddenly took a leave of absence, I wondered what was going on...”
The guy with the slanted eyes casually sat across from Tae-seo. The others followed and took nearby seats. Tae-seo leaned back in his chair.
“Then I saw the video. You’re marrying the KH heir, right? That shocked me.”
One of the others called the slanted-eyed guy “Hyun-seong.” It must’ve been a cue—Hyun-seong glanced at his friend’s face, then continued.
“Never thought KH would propose in the form of a product launch ad. But you know what I ✪ Nоvеlіgһt ✪ (Official version) immediately thought when I saw that?”
Tae-seo didn’t respond, just listened. Hyun-seong’s lips curled into something vaguely resembling a smile.
“I finally got why you ditched Kang In-hyuk and went with Kang Se-heon... Makes sense. If you’re going to switch, might as well go for the one who’ll end up owning KH.”
Ah. Not a smile. A sneer.
As Hyun-seong kept talking and Tae-seo stayed silent, the other two gave him subtle looks. Taking the hint, Hyun-seong hurried to say more—clearly desperate to get a reaction.
“So when exactly did you switch teams, huh? Back when you were all over In-hyuk, chasing after him like a lovesick puppy?”
So this is how it is. Tae-seo didn’t need long to figure out what kind of guys these were. He bit his lip to stop himself from laughing.
“That’s what you came here to say?”
“As if.”
Tae-seo shot back, and Hyun-seong’s expression visibly lightened. He let out a quiet laugh and slung an arm around Tae-seo’s shoulder.
“We’re just here on our parents’ behalf. Heard you’d be here, and thought—why not show up too? Try to build something good between us.”
The contact made Tae-seo’s skin crawl. Judging from the instinctive wave of disgust rising inside him, this guy had to be an Alpha. Without realizing, Tae-seo’s smile had vanished.
“Marrying the KH heir, about to inherit a hotel empire... why not form a connection?”
Hyun-seong leaned in, murmuring under his breath in that fake-friendly tone.
“How about it? Even knowing who you really are, we’re the kind of people who’d never turn our backs on you.”
Beneath the forced warmth was a veiled threat, coiled tight.
