The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 196: Summoned To The Town Hall

Illusion Magic was a kind of magic that affected the five senses but if someone knew that they were in an illusion – it didn’t work anymore. The kind of fear that Rem wanted Kiara to experience was one that only applied to a real-life experience.

If she knew she was in an illusion, she wouldn’t feel the substantial amount of fear needed to release her soul energy – she would know everything was fake. So everything he did to this point and the action of the people in the Illusion made sure to portray that whatever happened before was a dream.

Rem gritted his teeth as he began forming the horror in the illusion, the storm that would enable her to unleash her soul energy.

*Argh*

Blood splattered all over Kiara’s face as her brother was pushed back, his right arm being munched in the mouth of the beast in front of them... Luke looked back at her and she could sight the desperation in his eyes yet they straightened.

"Run!" He shouted out and Kiara was shook, his voice was hoarse, he had lost an arm yet he was still deciding to save her.

"Brother!" She screamed out and the Death Wolf Boss moved forward again, wanting to take a bite of him again but his crimson soul energy flared, engulfing his body while his left palm balled into a fist, crimson sparks of soul energy engulfing his entire body as he moved forward at the gigantic Death Wolf, the collision brought about a tremendous shockwave that even sent Kiara flying, her back slamming into the wall of the dungeon.

Kiara groaned, opening her eyes... the Deathwolf Boss crunched and blood splashed everywhere, her face paled as she realized what the Deathwolf had just eaten... her blue eyes gained focus as she screamed, her throat ravaging as her soul stirred.

Pain.

Anguish.

Despair.

All were released in that very moment, the grounds of the field shook as soul energy vibrated it to it’s core... a crimson aura wrapped around her, cracks spreading across the ground as the intensity only seemed to increase even more.

’Her soul-’ Rem thought as his hair billowed backward in the wind, ’Is more stronger than Luke’s?’

She was a quiet person, always keeping to herself but her soul vibrated with so much power, the Illusion shattered and she shot at Rem with rage in her eyes, the crimson soul energy wrapped around her fist roared with intensity.

Rem had coincidentally been in the place where the Deathwolf was standing and Kiara, blinded by rage had shot forward to attack him.

Rem caught her palm, his own crimson soul energy meeting her’s and suppressing it – she didn’t stand a chance. Kiara pulled back and prepared to strike again.

"Calm down," Rem said, his voice reaching her ears. Kiara blinked twice, staring at Rem’s face with confusion in her eyes, "It was all a dream but look at your palms,"

Kiara looked at her hands and her cheeks reddened, crimson soul energy surged around them like flames. Her excitement was quickly replaced with worry.

"Where’s Brother?" She asked.

"He’s at the house, sleeping just like we left him," Rem replied, "You went to sleep after I brought you to the clearing remember?"

Kiara remembered it clearly yet she could also remember the "dream" vividly, it was strange but Rem’s presence comforted her. Even though she couldn’t see a smile on his face, there was a sense of protection that he gave off – she was at ease just being with him.

"Let’s get back," Rem said, "I hope Kiara will make breakfast too, Dinner was really great,"

Kiara giggled.

"I’ll tell Aunty Pari then," Kiara said while taking hold of Rem’s palm, "She’ll be happy,"

Rem said nothing more as they walked in the direction of the house.

*Knock Knock*

Pari opened the front door, a smile visible on her face. Rem was having breakfast with them, a rare yet delightful occurrence and he was commenting on how good her food was – She didn’t know how to respond to this change.

"I’m a Messenger from the Mayor," A Young man said as soon as she opened the door, he flashed his Identification card and Pari’s eyes widened.

"Morning, what business does the mayor have with this Household?" Pari asked meekly, people were still healing from the Dungeon break so it wasn’t anything criminal.

"I heard the Solo Raider lives here and the Mayor requested an audience with him," The man replied quickly.

"Rem! Someone is here to see you!" Pari exclaimed and the Man’s eyes widened.

’She dared to call such a powerful figure by his name?’ He thought with a shiver.

"Who?" Rem asked as he walked toward them, as soon as he saw the young man – he got a gist of what was happening here.

"He’s a Messenger from the Mayor," Pari explained, "Said that the Mayor requests an audience with you,"

Rem turned to the young man and gave him a nod.

"I’ll be at the town hall once I’m done with Breakfast," He said dismissively, "I’ll talk to the Mayor then,"

The young man nodded in understanding and Pari shut the door, she let out a sigh and turned to Rem.

"Ah, wonder what the Mayor wants," Pari said and then went back to continue Breakfast.

Rem stood in front of the town hall, it was a towering building where the Major decisions regarding the town were made in. He didn’t bring the twins with him, he saw no reason to.

Rem wore his black cloak, covering his hair with it – he only wished to finish up here quickly and leave as soon as possible.

The guards who were standing at the entrance cleared way for him, they already knew that the Mayor was expecting him.

’If he wants to give me a reward for my actions, I won’t decline,’ Rem thought although inwardly he hoped this meeting wouldn’t be like the meeting he had with the Orion Town Mayor.
