The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 127: Separated Party (Part 1)
Rem grinned from ear to ear upon seeing the tail of the Rune Hound on the ground, twitching with each passing moment. A wail of pain escaped the Monster’s lips nevertheless it spun around and slashed at Rem who quickly dodged the slash while his eyes gave off an ethereal glow.
’The only other things I should be wary about is the two hind-legs of the Rune Hound,’ Rem thought while taking in a deep breath, steadying himself mid-air. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he felt an intense amount of Murderous intent press down upon him, strong enough to make his movements slow... even the Healer found herself unable to breathe as the Rune Hound’s eyes sparkled in a purple aura, the crimson rune on it’s forehead shattering and turning into a deep complex purple rune.
Rem took in a deep breath as the Rune Hound turned into a blur, moving through the air at a speed which Rem couldn’t keep up with... it’s once majestic silver fur turning into a dark shade of purple. The Rune Hound appeared in front of Rem and as soon as he witnessed the new appearance of this Monster, shivers went down his spine.
A slash came down and Rem countered it with his Shortsword, pouring soul energy into the blade and managing to defend against the slash... the thick murderous intent in the air made it a little bit hard for him to move but that was the least of his concerns right now, what concerned him the most was the strange rune on the Rune Hound’s forehead – a rune even capable of changing the Rune Hound’s fur tone.
He pushed the Rune Hound backward and dodged four vertical slashes, each of them coated with tremendous power – enough strength to slice his body apart. Rem locked eyes with the Monster before strengthening his body to the maximum, letting his muscles bulge even more. Soul energy leaked from his arms as he brought his Shortsword forward, landing a powerful slash on the Rune Hound’s forehead but the rune didn’t vanish, it grew more bolder.
The Monster charged forward at Rem and slashed at Rem who dodged the slash attack narrowly, countering with a stab from his Shortsword – aiming to stab into the Rune Hound’s brain and end the battle once and for all but like all the other stabs which had come the Monster’s way, this one was dodged as well.
Both Apprentice and Monster clashed mid-air on multiple occasions, sending a powerful shockwave of soul energy of soul energy washing over the surrounding area with each collision – the Healer found herself unable to move from her spot, biting her lips as she held onto the big rock that shielded her from the Onslaught that was happening before her... she couldn’t find any appropriate words or thoughts to express her situation right now.
The Rune Hound growled and threw yet another slash at Rem, it’s purple fur glistening with sparks of electricity as the fight drew on but Rem vanished from the Monster’s line of sight, appearing above it with a quick use of Flash movement and gave it a kick, slamming the Rune Hound into the ground and creating a wide crater.
Rem created some space as he observed the fatigued figure of the Rune Hound – it had once been energetic and fueled with resolve but now that resolve lay across the battlefield, crumpled with each exchange it had made with Rem. Rem’s muscles loosened as he felt the exhaustion take its toll on him, his soul energy resolves were also drawing towards depletion but he remained steadfast.
Seeing that the Rune Hound barely had any fight left in it, Rem’s palms were instantly engulfed in flames as he prepared to finish the job but not even moments after he had began gathering energy – the Rune Hound sprung into action with renewed vigor, turning into a blur of purple and shooting through the air at a speed Rem couldn’t keep up with.
Rem fired off several fireballs in rapid succession but the Monster weaved around every attack with minimal effort, pushing all of it’s strength into a final attack... One that was sure to finish off Rem, as soon as the Rune Hound closed the distance between itself and Rem, it bit into Rem’s arm only for it’s eyes to widen as an immense amount of flames shot into it’s mouth and destroyed it from inside out, engulfing Rem in an explosion.
The explosion cleared shortly after and Rem fell on his knees, restoring his ravaged arm with slime – he took in a deep breath to calm himself before staring at the ceiling, his gaze steeled and full of resolve.
’Not only are we separated in this wide dungeon that could range from weeks to even months to clear,’ Rem thought, ’But those figures in white cloaks are still lurking in the area – at least a 30% of the party should be dead now and that’s considering we didn’t have intense casualties,’
Soon he sighed and looked at the ground, even though things were going in the way nobody expected, he planned to exploit this opportunity to the maximum and grow stronger than ever in the dungeon.

A bunch of explosions rang in the distance as Tero stood in a small clearing, his silver hair glistening in the wind. The explosions died down shortly after revealing the dead bodies of several Hellhounds and then he turned to a certain Blue haired girl with narrowed eyes.
"Found anyone yet?" Tero asked, "Or is that skill of yours failing just so soon after awakening?"
Mika looked at Tero and groaned under her breath, her eyes highlighted by a deep spiraling shade of soul energy.
"We’re not that far away from the Spider territory," Mika said, "I can sense everyone from Captain Yokama’s group there and accounted for, but anything else is out of my sensing range,"
Mika’s eyes lit up.
"Over there – almost over two hundred kilometers away, two people entered my sensing range," Mika said and soon Tero’s eyes lit up.
"Let’s go for them," Tero said, his eyes letting off a slight glow.
