The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 114: B-grade Dungeon

In the large expanse of land known as the Forest of death, a large swirling red portal which was slowly expanding lay... In front of this peculiar gate, one could see several people gathered.

They were the surviving Apprentices from different mansions, everyone with influence had been extending the opportunity of letting their Apprentices grow and nobody planned on wasting the opportunity that the Mayor had given them.

A B-grade dungeon was the beginning of Dungeon evolutions, When a C-grade dungeon stayed for a long amount of time without a dungeon break occurring, it tended to immediately start gathering energy from the surrounding area and absorb other dungeons within a 10-meter radius. During absorption, the dungeon gate would permanently expand and gain a darker shade of red as not only was it absorbing to grow the power of the boss but it would be assimilating the monsters that existed in the other dungeons – during this evolution, one cannot enter the Dungeon.

After the evolution, A B-grade dungeon is produced and if it isn’t raided in 30 days after evolution, a Dungeon break of B-grade monsters would be unleashed into the world yet the Mayor wanted everyone to experience what it meant to be in a B-grade dungeon – it was an opportunity for growth and maturity... 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

The amount of people raiding this dungeon would be more than 50, the main force would be 30 and the remaining 20 people were the Apprentices joining the Main force.

"We’re almost ready to go, Where’s Rem?" Mika muttered under her breath worriedly while looking at Drew, "We saw him some days ago but haven’t heard of him since,"

Drew shrugged – Rem was bound to be alright, he had seen it first-hand after all, the boy was far too cautious of others and his surroundings to get in any real trouble and besides... the strength that he showed in the dungeon was more than what Drew expected of him, there was no way he was in danger.

The bushes rustled nearby and everyone turned their gazes toward it, only to reveal Rem who was wearing black overalls and holding a Magic Iron sword in hand. Rem’s eyes landed on Drew and his fellow Apprentices and he walked toward them.

"You’re late," Drew said and Rem sighed.

"I had to settle my inn fees and get breakfast," Rem said, "There is no way I’m entering a dungeon without having my breakfast first,"

Drew felt the urge to chuckle, but it was true – raiding a dungeon required energy, despite the Apprentices being protected by the Main force, they would still need to deal with assisting monsters of D and C-grade respectively. It was going to be a tough battle but Drew held faith and confidence that his team would survive it.

"Usually raiding B-grade dungeons can range from weeks to a month," Drew said, "And the Boss room is very hard to find in these kind of dungeons, so you guys will have to survive and give everything you have against the monsters,"

Mika and the others nodded excitedly, they had raided over three dungeons with Drew and each of them were properly prepared for the dangers of a B-grade dungeon by the Instructors who took it upon themselves to intensify the training.

The Apprentices thought if anyone wasn’t prepared for the dangers of a B-grade dungeon – It would be Rem but Drew thought otherwise, Rem had visited many dungeons after leaving the mansion and it was probable that he had more preparation than anyone here.

’Those Holy flame skills are powerful,’ Rem thought while leaning against a tree, waiting for the actual raid, ’And the Holy flame sacrifice is also available – but why? Is it a constant for every Holy flame user?’

Rem had delved a bit into the powers of Holy flame but he didn’t dare initiate the Sacrifice after seeing what happened to Arya – his physical body would be consumed within an instant and he would lose all sense of sanity, it was only wise to use such a power against an entity that Rem was confident he wouldn’t win against but there was another problem.

’There’s no way I’ll do the sacrifice,’ Rem finalized his thoughts and looked at the small clearing they stood in – there were 4 different groups of Apprentices each having 5 people, which totaled their twenty. After sighting their soul energy, his eyes widened.

A boy with silver hair and blue eyes stared at him, his blue eyes glowing in an ethereal light as they landed on his gray eyes.

’Magical energy,’ Rem thought, usually when unlocking Magical energy, soul energy would be suppressed within the soul. There were certain people that had both Soul energy and Magical energy like him but they were very rare, and this boy – he was one of them.

The Silver haired boy smiled at him politely but within that polite smile, the expression in his eyes showed something different – Pride. Rem had seen a lot of pride in his life but not something exactly like this. This boy pictured everyone below him.

And then the boy’s eyes went over to Cole, flashing with disdain as the Soulless Apprentice conversed with Krista.

’It’s going to be a long month,’ Rem thought while suddenly feeling some weight behind him, he was encased in a hug.

"Rem," Cynthia muttered into his ear, her cheeks painted in a shade of pink and her blue eyes glowering with happiness – she had longed to see him for a long time. Rem sighed, certainly it would be a long day.

The Mayor patted his back and smiled as well before walking toward the center, hopefully to give a motivational speech to both the Apprentices and the main force of Cavalier and Magus.

The Blond haired man walked to the center of the clearing, staring ahead at the red gate with his hair billowing in the wind – everything seemed set, everyone was listening, people were nervous and his words would carry on encouragement and hope.

"Do your best!" He said while flashing his signature goofy smile, and then the Mayor turned around and left, Rem sweatdropped.

’This is definitely not what they needed,’ Rem thought.
