Chapter 1065

Hearing Davey’s words, the resistance members made shocked faces.

Meanwhile, Goddess Freyja, still sitting on the rock and splashing water, kept her eyes fixed on the fish swimming below.

Sploosh.

The fish he had thrown toward Vampire Silcy flailed and darted back into the lake in a panic.

She stood still, seemingly unable to process what had just happened. Her face was blank for a moment. Then she lowered her head and began to chuckle softly. “Pff. Pffft.”

“Damn it!”

The resistance fighters shouted in alarm, but her laughter only grew louder.

“Ahaha!! Kyahahahaha!” When she laughed like a madwoman, her crimson eyes shimmered as bright red blood began to pool and spread around her feet. “Fine. If you want to play, I’ve got no reason to hold back. It’s simple.”

As if alive, the blood began to bubble, then slowly rose into the air and started transforming into various weapons.

“When I attack, you dodge.” Her smile twisted into something deranged. “Now, show me what tricks you’ve got up your sleeve.”

“Damn it! Bring it out all the stops, fellas!”

The floating weapons then began to strike with dazzling speed.

* * *

The relentless barrage of attacks left no room to dodge, making it painfully clear just how confident she was.

Freshly freed from their bindings thanks to the leniency of her whims, the resistance fighters immediately moved to protect Davey, their top priority.

“Damn it, what the hell are you thinking, just standing there?! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!” a young man shouted while using a massive shield to block the onslaught of falling weapons. “What did you think you were doing by provoking her?!”

“Argh!”

“Guh! Call for backup! At this rate, none of us will be able to escape alive!”

“Damn it, that monstrous woman!”

Silcy, despite her power, didn’t go for a kill right away. For her, the situation was nothing more than figuring out how to toy with an annoying pest in the most entertaining way possible.

Though there were those among the resistance who remained capable of fighting, they were nonetheless quickly subdued. Amidst the chaos, Davey had his attention on Goddess Freyja.

“Done playing?” he asked casually.

She was fiddling around as if she were simply out on a picnic, despite loitering in the middle of a battlefield.

She quietly nodded, granting him permission to end it. If Davey was going to trust her, then no matter the circumstances, it was only right to act according to her intent. He casually flicked the water from his hands, wiped them on his clothes, and began to move.

The lake, dyed in blood, made for anything but a pretty sight.

“Kyaaah!!”

A blood spear eventually pierced the shoulder of the brown-haired girl Eldna, pinning her in place.

Vampire Silcy didn’t miss the opening, instantly closing the distance and grabbing her neck. She choked and gasped in pain.

“Humans are so fragile. There’s really no difference between you and insects.” Taunting her while flaunting the overwhelming difference in power, blood droplets gathered in her hand, morphing into a massive buzz saw. “I wonder what kind of scream you’ll let out~”

“Grrh?!”

Pushing through the excruciating pain, Eldna swung her weapon in defiance, but Silcy batted it aside with a single finger as if she were humoring a child.

“That’s it? That’s really all you’ve got?”

“Damn you!!”

“Do you know why we haven’t wiped out your little resistance until now?”

She truly didn't know.

“It was because we could crush you any time we wanted. Now, any last words before I send you on your way?”

Eldna gave a cold smirk. “Go to hell.”

“What a pity.”

The massive buzz saw sliced through the air, aiming straight for her neck.

“Eldna!!”

Recognizing the scream, she squeezed her eyes shut in anticipation of the pain, though they didn't stay that way for long.

Her eyes snapped wide open when she saw Davey.

“I’m pretty sure I told you that I’d let you live if you left earlier,” Davey calmly remarked after he blocked the buzzsaw with a light kick.

“Y-You?”

“Vampires always have the same glaring problem. Always too much pride, never considering the possibility of losing.”

Clank, clank!! Clang!

Davey twisted the direction of the saw and swiftly knocked it away before Silcy could even react, then drove a fist straight into her abdomen.

[Heavenly Destroyer Demonic Blood Strike]

The strike landed perfectly with a twisting motion of his hand. Silcy didn’t even get a chance to scream as her body was hurled through the air, bouncing violently across the lake’s surface. She skipped across the water several times before coming to a final stop near the deeper part of the lake and sinking beneath the surface.

Everyone stared at Davey in shock, clearly unable to grasp what had just happened.

Even so, he paid them no mind, casually stretching as he rummaged through his Pocket Plane.

‘I should’ve brought Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon with me. Tsk.’

Boom!!

At that moment, Vampire Silcy resurfaced with a massive burst of water. She was holding a long crimson spear, unlike anything they had seen before.

“How dare a lowly human—”

Before she could even finish her enraged outburst, Davey rushed in and slapped her across the cheek. Of course, it wasn’t just a run-of-the-mill slap.

“Welcome back. Ever been hit with a fish before? Oh, wait, it’s your second time now, isn’t it?” He had truly grabbed a large fish by the tail and whipped her across the face with it.

“Y-You... You bastard!!”

Feeling humiliated after suffering such disrespect for the second time, she lunged at him with her spear.

Smack!!

Alas, the result remained the same. When he slapped her one more time for good measure, her cheek immediately began to swell with a bright red mark.

“Ow! That hurts...”

“Awhhh, does that hurt? That’s the point.”

Smack!!

“Kyaaa! You damn human!!” Finally snapping, she started flailing wildly in rage.

Davey weaved through her attacks with ease, repeatedly slapping her face with the fish, much to her chagrin.

‘It would’ve been even better if I had frozen it beforehand. Oh well, not that it matters, anyways.’

Empowered by divine power, the fish ceased being ordinary fish. What followed was an outright beating. Not some stylish duel, but a brutal, soggy, fishy mess of a beatdown.

“H-How is he beating up a vampire?!”

“What the hell? What am I even watching right now?”

The onlookers, watching his relentless assault, murmured amongst themselves in disbelief. Vampires were immortals, practically sentient disasters. Silcy was the leader of the extermination unit that the chancellor owned, as well.

Anyone who had ever seen her fight recognized that each leader of that unit was stronger than a Grandmaster.

“Aaaah!!”

Unable to contain her fury, she let out a blood-curdling scream and summoned droplets of blood into the air. She was prepared to unleash an area attack that would be nearly impossible to dodge, meant to completely shut down any potential counterattacks.

“No!!”

The resistance forces screamed in terror, but Davey was focused on something else—the half-mangled fish in his hand.

“This one’s done for.” Then, without hesitation, he tossed it aside before he pulled something massive from his Pocket Plane, swinging it straight into her abdomen.

“Gaaa!”

The blow landed with a completely different level of power than before. She coughed violently as her body went tumbling once again, crashing into the lake and sinking below the surface for the umpteenth time.

“Nothing beats tuna when it comes to garnishing beatdowns.”

It was one of the leftover bits from Earth, back when he was trying to give tunas away as presents. From size alone, it was in a whole different league compared to the small fish in the lake she kept sinking into. It was also frozen solid, so simply swinging it without any enhancements still made for a formidable weapon.

Though really, that hardly mattered. After all, the divine power he had wrapped around the fish was taking care of the reinforcement anyway.

“When your switch breaks, you just find another stick.”

Gripping the tuna by the tail, Davey waited calmly for her to surface again. The moment her head popped up from the water, he stomped down on the lake’s surface. Despite placing his foot on water, he didn’t sink down even an inch.

Crack!!!

“W-What is this?!”

Completely ignoring her power of blood, Davey had frozen the surrounding area solid. Crouching slightly, he grinned at Silcy, who had been restrained with only her head sticking out of the frozen lake.

“There’s a saying on Earth that one should offer their left cheek if they’ve been slapped on their right side.”

She had no response.

“But me personally? If someone hits any of my cheeks, I just knock the hell out of them. Anyways, what does this all matter to you? You’re not even from Earth, as far as I can tell.”

“S-Stop. Stop it!”

Only then did she seem to realize something was horribly wrong.

“A vampire behaving like a baby when interacting with others? You haven’t even lived long enough to act like this.”

“Guh?!”

“Come on. Really, did you think I wouldn’t notice you freaks getting cocky just ‘cause you’re supposedly immortal?”

Wham!!

Just like a golf swing, Davey smashed the tuna into her head above the water. Her pupils shook violently, her eyes rolling back for a moment before snapping back into focus.

“Welp, let's go ahead and wrap things up here. It’s about time I slap a seal on that annoying trait of yours.”

“W-What are you even saying? What the hell are you?” She shouted at Davey with a face full of disbelief.

After all, she’d reigned supreme for years with no equal or feared opponent, yet there she was, being beaten senseless without landing a single proper hit.

“Curious?”

She let him pause.

“Then stay curious.”

Boom!!

He swung the tuna again, feeling his stress melt off with every swing. “Hey, you’re pretty sturdy. I like it.”

Somehow, all it took was that single comment to send a chill down the spines of every resistance fighter watching. Their faces stiffened whenever their gazes met his eyes.

What followed was a merciless beatdown. With divine power laced into every strike, his blows pierced right through her defenses, suppressing even her immortality.

She was living through a nightmare.

The surrounding lake ice that bound her wasn’t just some ordinary ice, either. Though it looked simple, not even the slightest crack appeared despite his continuous beatings of her.

“W-Why won’t this damn ice break and let me go?!”

“Really? ‘This damn ice’? This stuff’s tougher than most metals! Do you think magic is some kind of joke?”

Slam!!

“Don’t worry. After you’re gone, I’ll send the rest along their way one by one. The moment you laid a hand on the Primordial God of Creation, you gave up the right to mercy.”

Thud!!

Her face became so swollen that it was barely recognizable. Silcy groaned in pain, yet her eyes burned with determination. It was as if she was waiting for an opening to turn the tables.

“I don’t care anymore! I’ll blow this entire place to hell if that’s what it takes!!” Her entire body abruptly transformed into liquid. A massive storm of blood erupted around her, growing so large it could swallow the entire Arbute Kingdom. It was on such a scale that it prompted Davey to stop moving.

Accompanied by the sound of liquid flowing, she melted her way free from the ice. Gasping for breath, she glared at Davey. “All the blood in this region is mine now. Can’t move, can you? Now it’s your turn to get what's coming to you, bastard.”

She had lost all her cool, her face twisted with madness. She summoned a massive whip and swung it toward the motionless Davey.

“To control all the blood in the area without direct contact? That’s insane!” ƒreewebɳovel.com

Every living being had blood. Lose enough, and they’d die. Stop its flow, and oxygen and nutrients won’t circulate, and they die anyway.

In short, freezing blood meant death itself.

“N-No!!”

The resistance fighters screamed in panic, having had no clue she possessed such power. So far, they’d been watching her get humiliated in the most absurd way possible. However, after she’d unleashed such a level of power, they thought even Davey had to be out of options.

[Predatory Assimilation]

Crunch!!

The intangible energy that had dominated the air was suddenly torn apart by an invisible, beastly force emanating from his body.

“Gah! What the—?!” Synchronized with the formless power, Silcy stumbled in shock as part of her strength was forcibly ripped away.

“Hey. Gotta say, your power’s not bad.”

Following his words, her attempted counterattack froze in place. “N-No way. How can a human manipulate the power of blood?!” she shrieked in disbelief.

Davey simply gave her a calm smile and raised the tuna once more. It was another repeat of the scene, though a dark energy had begun to seep through the entire fish.

“Curious how I did it?”

Her eyes trembled nonstop as she screamed in denial, “No! It’s not possible! I’m absolute in this space! By my command, by my will, I can crush the breath of all living thi—gaaah?!”

Suddenly, she collapsed, clutching her chest as if she couldn’t breathe.

Meanwhile, Davey spat on his palm, gripped the tail of the tuna with both hands, and swung it like a baseball bat, aiming for her abdomen.

Boom!!

“Guhh.”

“Hm. You sure are a tough one, aren’t you? O’ god of mine, I’m gonna borrow a bit of your power,” Davey spoke aloud without turning his head.

At that moment, a stigmata on his back pulsed with a chilling tingle.

‘Ahhhh. This familiar heavy, cool sensation of the stigmata is so nice. Time to go full holy magic gangster mode.’

Davey tossed the tuna aside and extended his hand toward Silcy.

“The Lord hath spoken. She can go eat dirt.”

Goddess Freyja casually held up her notebook, revealing a message scribbled inside.

[That’s not what I said.]

‘Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. Who cares?’

[Middle Finger of God]

Another note appeared in the notebook.

[Index finger.]

“Yeah, whatever, I get it. Index finger.”

Boom!!

A massive, radiant finger of pure white light descended from the heavens, crushing Silcy within an instant.

The sheer overwhelming force, enough to completely suppress even her immortality, engulfed her entirely. With a blank, stunned expression, Silcy slowly disintegrated into light and scattered like dust.

Watching the surreal display, the resistance fighters rubbed their eyes repeatedly.

Among them, Eldna muttered with a dazed look, “Ah. W-What? Was that a dream?”

“Yeah. Let’s go with that.”

Not that escapism helped much.
