The Maid's Rise to Be a President's Wife-Chapter 276: The Love on the Verge of Fading
Chapter 276 - The Love on the Verge of Fading
At the dinner table,
Yiren sat beside Ji Minze, and Tang Lei sat opposite them.
Yiren kept her head down and sipped the porridge that was just the right temperature. Due to her gastric hemorrhage, she couldn't eat greasy or stimulating things for the time being, so she could only have porridge. She realized that it was difficult for her to have a relaxed meal at the Ji family estate. Just like now, she could clearly feel the hostility in Tang Lei's eyes towards her.
"Tang Lei, why aren't you eating?" Ji Minze looked up and saw that Tang Lei had hardly touched her chopsticks and asked.
"Brother Minze, you usually pick food for me, but you didn't today," Tang Lei said with a smile. Ji Minze still cared about her.
"Is perch okay?" Ji Minze asked, then picked up a piece and put it into Tang Lei's bowl. "You're not an outsider. Don't be so polite every time."
Yiren still buried her head in eating the porridge. She knew that Ji Minze was used to treating Tang Lei like this. She didn't want to say anything. But seeing Ji Minze spoiling someone like this, she still felt a dull pain in her heart. Maybe she wasn't a broad-minded woman after all!
After dinner,
Tang Lei asked Ji Minze to drive her home.
"Can I ask Hao to drive you home?" Ji Minze said to Tang Lei. He didn't want to leave Yiren alone at home.
"No! I want Brother Minze to drive me home!"
Ji Minze turned to look at Yiren with a troubled expression.
"It's getting late. You can drive Tang Lei home," Yiren said, trying to sound as calm as possible.
"Then you go upstairs and rest. I'll be back soon," Ji Minze said to Yiren, then walked out of the living room, and Tang Lei followed behind him.

Yiren felt as if she was about to break down. Ji Minze still couldn't let go of Tang Lei. That kind of indulgence towards someone had become an ingrained habit. So Ji Minze couldn't even feel that what he was doing for Tang Lei now seemed so awkward.

"Go in! Send my regards to your parents. I won't go in," Ji Minze said to Tang Lei when they arrived at the Tang family's house.
Tang Lei didn't move and still sat in the passenger seat.
"Brother Minze, you will pick Yiren back, right?" Tang Lei turned to look at Ji Minze and said.
"Of course! She is my wife," Ji Minze said. He hoped that Tang Lei could understand the fact that he and Yiren were already husband and wife.
"Does that mean you won't love me anymore in the future?" Tang Lei murmured.
"Tang Lei, you have always been my sister! What we have is just the affection between siblings," Ji Minze explained again.
"I'm not your sister! Brother Minze, can't you feel that I love you? This kind of love is definitely not the love a sister has for her brother. Or do you always know it, but you just don't want to admit it?" Tang Lei stared at Ji Minze and said.
"Tang Lei, stop being naughty. Go home and rest quickly! We have to go to work tomorrow," Ji Minze frowned and scolded. He had been too indulgent towards her usually, so she was always so disobedient.
"No! If you can't be with me in the future, then what's the point of going to work? I don't even want to live anymore," Tang Lei said desperately.
"Tang Lei, what nonsense are you talking? Go home and don't be so willful," Ji Minze said angrily.
"Brother Minze, I'll ask you one more time. Can you really not be with me in the future?" Tang Lei said, looking into Ji Minze's eyes. She knew that once she let Ji Minze go, he would definitely go back to Yiren. And she didn't want to lose him. If she had to bear the pain of losing him, then she would only choose the extreme way.
"We are siblings!" Ji Minze declared again.
"I said I don't want to be your sister!" Tang Lei shrieked.
At this moment, Ji Minze only felt a blinding silver light flash by. Before he could react, Tang Lei had already slashed deeply at her left wrist. Blood spurted out immediately.
"Tang Lei, what are you doing?" Ji Minze snatched the fruit knife that Tang Lei had somehow prepared and pressed on her wound, looking at Tang Lei's extreme behavior in disbelief.
But the blood soon gushed out like a spring. Tang Lei had always been so bold in loving and hating. She could love someone with all her heart and soul, and she could also hate someone completely and resolutely.
"If you don't be with me, I'd rather die!" She could no longer feel the pain in her body because the pain in her heart had far overshadowed it.
Yiren paced restlessly in the bedroom. Ji Minze still hadn't come back. She didn't know whether she should call him or not, and finally she decided to give up.
At some point, when she was almost falling asleep on the sofa, Ji Aier came over.
"Go to sleep first. Minze might be back a bit late," Ji Aier said with a solemn expression.
"Mom, did something happen?" Yiren asked nervously. She rarely saw Ji Aier with such a heavy expression. And it was already three o'clock in the morning, but Ji Minze still hadn't come back. A strong sense of unease spread in her heart.
"Tang Lei, her hand is injured," Ji Aier glanced at Yiren and said.
"I see. Thank you, Mom," Yiren lowered her head and said. She didn't know why Tang Lei's hand was suddenly injured! But she felt that Ji Minze still couldn't let go of Tang Lei.
"Yiren, don't think too much. Minze's feelings for you are genuine! Give him some time to deal with Tang Lei's matter. He won't let you down," Ji Aier said to Yiren. She didn't expect that Tang Lei would be so determined and choose to slit her wrist to face the reality of Ji Minze being with Yiren.
Now what she was most worried about was not what would happen to Yiren or Tang Lei, but whether Ji Minze would break down because of this. Ji Minze's character was definitely not as cold and strong as he seemed on the surface.
Yiren nodded. Although she didn't know exactly what had happened. But she already felt that it seemed to have become a foregone conclusion that although she and Ji Minze loved each other, they couldn't be together.
She still couldn't go back to Ji Minze's side because there was an insurmountable obstacle named Tang Lei between her and Ji Minze.
Xi Murong: A Flowering Tree
How can I let you meet me
At my most beautiful moment. For this
I have pleaded before the Buddha for five hundred years
Begging him to let us form a bond in this mortal world
So the Buddha turned me into a tree
Growing by the path you must pass
In the sunlight, I bloom with care
Each flower is the hope of my past life
When you draw near, please listen carefully
The trembling leaves are the passion of my waiting
And when you finally pass by without a glance
Falling to the ground behind you
My friend, those are not petals
But my withered heart
