I brushed the hair off Jax’s forehead as we laid on my bed. I examined the scar on his eyebrow as I imagined what his childhood was like. Nobody knew what went on in the mansion. Not even the staff. It was like we were worlds apart but in the same space. I could totally understand why. They were our royal family and with that title, there were secrets, unimaginable things that they had to keep to themselves.

Our relationship was the first time that our two worlds were getting involved. Most of the time, the royal family often married into the elite. Most of the elite do not live in the pack, they lived in the human world and no one knew why or how. I had tried to find one after I ran away, hoping that I could get some sort of security from them but I couldn’t find anyone.

"I honestly don’t want to go back." Jax mumbled against my skin making me giggle. "I just want to be free of all my responsibilities for just a minute."

"But that’s what Claire is for." I said lifting the covers over my shoulder. It was night time already and it was starting to get colder. "I know I’m not your Queen but if I were, I would have given you a week off and I’ll handle everything."

"That won’t be possible." He said as he stretched and rolled off me. "If I’m taking a week off, I want you to be with me so how is that going to work?" He asked and I chuckled. He got off the bed and made his way out of the room. "I’m ordering in." He announced from wherever he was, most likely the living room. Most of our clothes were all over the living room and he probably went to put it on.

"Please can you make some tea?" I asked, raising my voice a bit higher than normal. I really missed my tea drinking days. I don’t know what it was but it was so calming and it warmed up my body- not that I needed any warming up seeing as Jason had done that already.

"Anything for you, my love." He replied and I felt something bubble in my stomach. Was that how it feels when someone said they feel butterflies in their stomach? It was weird but good.

After a few minutes, Jax walked in with a big bag and two cups of tea. "I ordered anything I could find. There’s pizza, chicken, a rice bowl, sushi. I don’t know if you’re as hungry as I am." He said as he handed me my cup of tea. I quickly sat up, holding the covers tightly to my chest. The tea wasn’t as hot as I would normally make it but it was a really nice gesture. I took a gulp and set it on the side table.

"Sushi first." I said and he sat on the bed. He placed his cup on the bedside table beside mine and dropped the bag on the floor. He rummaged through the bag until he pulled out a plate of sushi.

"I don’t fancy sushi as much." He said as he opened the plate and handed it over to me. "Do you know how to use the chopsticks?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.

"I stayed here for over two years. I definitely know how to use chopsticks." I said as he pulled out the chopsticks and handed them to me. I began eating immediately and hummed at the taste. I couldn’t believe that I was so hungry. We hadn’t eaten before we left the pack and I wondered how we were able to stay that long without worrying about food.

"You need to taste this one. It’s so good." Jax said as he held up a half eaten sushi and I smiled before eating it. I nodded in agreement as I chewed on it. "Okay, I’m tired of sushi." He said as he rummaged through the bag. "You know what, let’s go and watch a movie while we’re eating." He said, standing up and carrying the bag with him.

"Wait, please eat this one." I said as I held up my last sushi and he quickly ate it. "I want to put on something."

"It’s just the two of us. I don’t mind us being naked around the apartment." He said as he walked away, giving me the space to choose. I could decide to stay naked or dress up. I chose the latter. I wasn’t so comfortable with Jax to the point where I would walk around naked. I got off my bed and headed for my wardrobe. I opened it and pulled out my pajamas which consisted of silk shorts and a strapless top. I quickly wore the clothes and headed out to the living room.

"I’m pretty sure that everyone would be wondering where we are right now." Jax said as he laid out the food in the center table. "Especially Claire. She would definitely scream at me." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"You didn’t tell her? I thought everyone knew you were leaving." I said in surprise. I thought Jax would have told the council members that he was leaving for a few hours or maybe a day. "Jax. I think we should go back. I don’t want you to get in trouble."

"Call me baby next time." He said and I rolled my eyes. "Also, what you’re wearing is extremely provocative and if you don’t want me to rip it off you, I’ll suggest you go back and change." He said with a cheeky smirk. I rolled my eyes and sat beside him, making sure to place my legs on his thighs.

"I’m not going to argue with you right now." I said as I opened the pizza box and took a slice, eating it slowly.

"I am not going to say anything anymore. Don’t be surprised when I act on my impulses." He said and I smiled sheepishly.
