The Lycan king-Chapter 138
*Leonora*
Five years later
No one told me being a mother of two was stressful. All I wanted was a bit of quiet in this house but I there was no way I could get it. Not when there were literally three children in the house.
"Is there a way we could get a babysitter and just go out for the weekend?" I asked Bethany and she chuckled as she played with her baby girl.
Yes, Bethany was now a mother. I don’t know what happened between her and Devon five years ago but they blossomed into something wonderful. It wasn’t even a surprise when Bethany announced she was pregnant three years ago. And I also got pregnant a few months after that.
We finally got the dream pregnancy that we wanted.
"Says the woman that will cry if she stays away from her babies for too long." Bethany teased. Yes it was true. I loved my babies and I loved the full house even with Micah around. Micah decided to move back to the pack. I still don’t know his reasoning for it but Jax joked about how Micah thought the girls in the pack were prettier. I think Micah moved back because of Jax.
"One more dirty diaper and I’ll scream." I said and she laughed as she applied a fake lipstick onto Ronnie’s lips. "I want to just have one night to have a glass of wine without looking over my shoulder."
"Or maybe you just want some alone time with your man." Bethany joked and I shrugged. She wasn’t wrong though. I listened and I didn’t hear any noise from Xander. Xander was now five and he was a noise maker. Anytime I didn’t hear a noise from him, my heart raced. One time he walked into a council meeting because he wanted to see all the rooms in the house. Another time, he tried to pain the walls of his room with crayons because he didn’t like the color.
It frustrated me but I still loved him regardless. According to Jax, he was the exact same way growing up.
"Xander!" I screamed as Aurora, my daughter, flinched. She hated loud noises but always cried in the highest pitch whenever Jax wasn’t around.
"Mama, loud." She scolded me and I rolled my eyes. I called for Xander again and he walked into the room with Jax following after him.
"Guess what I saw your son doing?" He asked me and I rolled my eyes. It was a running joke between us. Jax called Xander my son whenever he caught him doing something and I did the same back. It’s not like I birthed him on my own.
"Sleeping." Bethany suggested and Jax laughed as Xander took a seat beside Ronnie. He always acted weird around Ronnie which made Bethany and I joke that they might end up being mates.
"He was repainting the walls again. If I see him doing that, I might have to move him into our room." Jax warned as he plopped down on the couch beside Aurora and I. "My sweet Rory." She immediately jumped onto her father thighs and I sighed in relief.
Did I forget to add that she’s clingy? 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"Nora wants a babysitter so we can go out for the weekend." Bethany said with a smirk and I rolled my eyes. "Rory come and join Ronnie." Bethany ordered and we took it as a cue to step out into the balcony.
"I really think we deserve that break." Jax said and he leaned on the railing. "Parenting is hard. It’s like you never get a break."
"My husband, the best person who only shows up to play with the kids then it’s back to work." I teased and he rolled his eyes. Some aspects of our relationship hadn’t changed especially when it came to our little banters.
"My wife, the only person who hates diapers but is ready to pop our babies every weekend if she could." He threw back at me and it was my turn to roll my eyes.
Bethany looked between the both of us and scoffed. "If you guys keep this up, I’ll go and get Devon. Keep your pda to a minimum please." Bethany warned and I out my hand up to surrender. "How about we just get ice creams and pastries? I honestly miss all those dessert Sundays."
"Oh my gosh! Yes! We really need to! I think we need to make more family traditions." I said in acceptance. Desert Sundays were so fun but the next day was almost the worst. Xander usually ended up with a running stomach after sneaking more ice cream behind my back.
"Mum!" Xander called and Bethany and I instinctively turned to look. "Rory doesn’t want me to play."
"Rory, please let your brother play." I shouted back causing Rory to scream. Bethany walked over to the door and closed it. Sometimes, it was necessary.
"How about deserts for dinner today. Then we can watch a movie." Jax said. "We haven’t watched a movie in a while." He pointed out and I nodded. Bethany walked to the railing and looked down.
"Please watch Ronnie, I’ll be back." Bethany said as she skipped out of the room, leaving Jax and I at the balcony. I walked closer to him and wrapped my arms around his shoulder.
"Thank you for everything." Jax said and I stood on my tiptoes and pecked his lips.
"What did I do?" I asked. Jax was very fond of thanking me for the most random things. Things that were the bare minimum, in my opinion.
"For just being wonderful. I don’t think I thank you enough. Thank you for birthing my children. Just thank you for being the best mate anyone could ever have. I love you so much." He said and I smiled. I loved that he made it his mission for me to feel loved everyday.
"I love you so much." I leaned up and kissed him.
"Ew." The kids screamed at me. "Ew. Get away from mummy." Xander screamed and we pulled away.
I couldn’t wait to see what life would be like in the next five years.
