The Lycan king-Chapter 132
*Leonora*
Xander started crying again and I sighed. I was still trying to put the sling back in its original position and also get out his new pair of clothes and diapers.
"Xander is hungry." Jax pointed out and for a split second I wanted to turn around and scream that i knew that already but I just kept my cool and continued with what I was doing. After I laid everything out on the table, I got into bed beside Jax and took off my shirt. Jax slipped Xander into my arms and I took my time to make sure he latched properly. His silence was very much needed.
"Did I wake you up last night?" I asked Jax. He hummed in acceptance as he picked up his phone from the side table. I didn’t need any other sign to tell me to mind my business. I turned back to Xander, checking to see if there was any gap. I still had a few hours before his next medication and I didn’t want to spend most of that time tending to his cries.
Xander had his eyes closed as he sucked gently. I wondered what was running through his mind as he basically ate. What did he think of us? Were we the best parents to him? I liked to believed I was doing my best even with all the drama that was around us.
I looked over at Jax. He didn’t look as sad as he was yesterday. He looked a lot better. Maybe he just needed to talk it out. It made me feel good that he could come and talk to me about what was bothering him.
It’s the little things.
Xander pulled away and I lifted him up. "Now we’re going to do our little exercise." I said as I laid him on the bed and lifted his legs. I tried to copy the movements the doctor did and Xander farted causing Jax to give me a look.
"That’s nasty." He commented which earned a laugh from me. "Is that what the doctor recommended?"
"Yeah, it helps with gas and also helps Xander with his cries." I said as I picked him up and began to pat his back. "Do you want to take a shower with us? More like a bath."
"Oh, no. Just do your thing, I’ll be here." He said nonchalantly and I gave him a look. He turned to look at me and I half expected him to understand me but he just stared at me waiting for a follow up.
"I wanted you to join us. It is our thing and I wanted it to also be Xander’s thing too. At least for the first month of his life." I explained and he just kept looking at me. I didn’t have anything else to say and I was wondering why he was acting so nonchalantly. "You know what? Don’t worry. It’s not a big deal." I said as I got down from the bed. I carried Xander over to the changing table and rid him of everything he was wearing before going to the bathroom.
I turned on the water and waited until the tub was a bit full. I placed him on the open counter and quickly undressed. I carried him back and we both entered into the bath.
"Who is a good boy?" I asked sweetly as I placed him on my thighs and lifted my legs. I didn’t want to fully immerse him into the water. He was still a baby after all.
I heard footsteps and I listened. I didn’t understand why Jax was being so cold to me. Maybe I had done something last night or I had said some hurtful things. And if I did, he should talk to me instead of icing me out. I didn’t deserve to be treated coldly.
"I’ll be sending for breakfast. Do you want anything in particular?" Jax asked and I paused. "Or the regular pancakes and bacon?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Yes please. I’ll prefer honey in place of syrup." I added and he hummed before walking away. "Jax!" I shouted, startling Xander.
"Yes mama." He answered as he walked back into the bathroom. "Did I do anything wrong? You’re acting very weird and I’m confused. If I did anything, I’m sorry."
"No, you didn’t. I have a couple of business related things to attend to. I’m also kind of out of it." He said as he walked towards us. He squatted beside me and placed a kiss on my cheek. "You look a lot like my wife."
"And you look a lot like my husband." I joked along with him. He gave me a peck on my lips and kissed Xander’s forehead. "You can’t be kissing us like that! What if my husband sees us."
"He would have to get used to it because I’m not sure if I’ll be able to keep my hands off of you." He teased and I smiled. "Thank you for yesterday. Everyday, you give me more than enough reasons why I made the best decision."
"What decision? Marrying me?" I asked as I really needed to know what he meant. Around the time we got married, I tried to back out and he kind of threatened me. It wasn’t our finest moment but I didn’t think there was any decision for him to make there.
"The day I realized how much I love you. It was the day I decided to put my heart first. It was the day I knew I wouldn’t be able to go through with the rejection. I didn’t want to lose my only chance at love." He admitted and my eyes watered. "I don’t think I would be able to love anyone else the way I love you."
"You’re making me teary." I said and he wiped my eyes. "I love you too. Also, I’m really hungry so, please get breakfast ready. I’m starving."
"One day, we’re going to talk about your relationship with food." He chuckled as he stood up and walked away.
