He opened the cover and poured a little into his mouth, careful not to let it touch his mouth. He closed it up as he swallowed and handed me the bottle back. "It’s so good. I think I’m going to get some for myself." He said and I rolled my eyes. "It’s warm enough." He answered and I nodded before walking to the living room. Devon and Bethany were playing with Jax as he laid on his back.

"Time for him to eat." I said as I pulled him off the chair and carried him over to the room. I heard footsteps following me and Jax walked into the room as soon as I sat down.

"When he’s done eating, we’ll go to the other apartment." Jax said and I nodded as I laid Xander on my thigh with his head and upper body resting on my arm.

I placed the bottle on his mouth and he began sucking. "My cute baby boy." I said as I watched him eat. Jax moved around until he was seated behind me with his legs on either side of mine. He rested his head on my shoulder, lightly kissing my cheek.

"Here, let me hold the bottle." He said as he held onto the bottle. "You can lean on me." He added and I let myself relax as I watched Xander. He lifted his fist and touched my chest causing me to smile. "You see, we’re a team." Jax said as he kissed my neck.

"Thank you for taking things slow with me. I promise I’ll get better." I said to him as his other hand snaked its way over my hand that cuddled Xander.

"When we mated, it was a promise that we would stick together through good or bad." He softly said as we watched Xander. "I’m not in a hurry for you to move on from everything. Take your time and process things. During that time, I’ll fulfill my duties as your husband." Jax said as he kissed behind my ear. Xander jerked in my arm and I quickly pulled the bottle off his mouth. He hiccuped and it sounded like the cutest thing I had ever heard. He made the same sound again and I held him up, placing him slightly on my shoulder. I began to rub his back.

"Who is our favorite baby in the world?" Jax said followed a weird sound from Xander. "This is so disgusting. Don’t look." Jax warned me but I turned over and saw a white substance on my shoulder and a little bit on Jax too. I pulled Xander off my shoulder and he looked so content and happy.

"You’re happy with messing up our clothes?" I asked in a baby voice as I rubbed his stomach. Jax climbed off the bed. "I just need his bib and we need to change clothes." Jax walked over to the bag of clothes and he pulled out a bib and handed it over to me. I wore it around Xander’s neck and used the cloth to wipe his mouth.

"You’re definitely going back to your aunt. Mum and dad are going to have a shower." Jax said as he picked Xander up and carried him out of the room. A small smile formed on my face.

I walked to the living room to meet Bethany standing holding Xander while Jax was trying to wipe off his shirt.

"Yours is even worse." Bethany pointed out and I shrugged. "Go and take a shower and a nap. I’ll be with this little man."

Jax held out a hand and I took it. "We’ll take some food with us and make it a date."

Jax dropped the food on the center table and Xander’s baby bag on the couch while I took off my shirt. I looked at the spot where Xander’s vomit had stained and it was on my left shoulder and it wasn’t a small spot. I wrapped the shirt in a ball and took it over to the laundry room. I turned on the washer and threw the shirt in. I made sure the detergent was in and everything had been set up before turning it on.

"Shit, Jax! I forgot your shirt." I said but I didn’t hear anything. I actually felt a little happy. That little moment with Jax and Xander made me feel like everything was going to be okay. "Jax."

"If you keep calling me by my name, I won’t answer you anymore." He said sternly and I chuckled. I walked out to meet him sprawled out on the couch with the fast food laid out on the table. "We have burgers, fries and a milkshake." One serving was larger and I knew that was Jax’s so I picked a French fry and popped it in my mouth as I sat beside him.

"How are you?" I asked awkwardly and I watched as he adjusted so that we could face each other. I noticed his eyes glance down at my bra and then back at me quickly.

"I’m okay. How are you?" He asked and I just smiled and picked up a French fry. I noticed his eyes glancing down at my bra again. "I think I’ll have a shower before we take a nap." Jax randomly announced and I chuckled. I held my hand out for him and he took it. I pulled him closer to me and he smiled sheepishly, puckering his lips at me.

"Let’s eat." I said as I grabbed my burger and took a big bite. It had been a while since I had fast food and I really missed it. I looked over at Jax and he sulked as he picked up his burger and began to eat. "I’m not sure if I’ll eat my fries now. I’ll reheat them later."

"Yeah. We can eat it later when we get Xander." He added and I hummed as we ate in silence. I could still notice his sneaky glances and it made me smile. It was nice being wanted, knowing the person you loved was still attracted to you even after what you’ve been through and body changes.

By the time we were done eating our burgers and milkshakes, I knew Jax was turned on significantly. He wasn’t even trying to hide his stares anymore and it was funny to me.

I took his hands and pulled him up. "Let’s go and have a shower." I said as I led him to the bathroom. Jax quickly stripped off his clothes and I did the same. I put the water on warm and stepped underneath the shower, sighing at the feeling of the water on my body.

"Do you still want to kiss?" He asked me and I smiled. It felt like we were teenagers and he needed my permission. I gestured for him to join me in the shower and he accepted. "Or should we use the bath instead?" I shook my head. I could still remember the last time we had a bath together and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to have sex yet. I had healed myself physically but I wasn’t sure if I was mentally fine.

I moved over to the side and he stepped underneath the shower. I watched as the water slowly ran down his body. "I felt a bit happy earlier." I admitted to him and he lit up. "Just having you there with me as I fed Xander made me happy."

"Well, I’m going to do more of that." He said as I placed my hands on his chest. He looked a lot leaner than he used to be. I felt bad that I hadn’t taken notice of his changes. I looked up at him.

"You make me happy." I said as I leaned on my tiptoes and kissed him. His hands went around my waist, pulling me closer until I was stepping on his feet. My hands trailed into his hair as our tongues fought for dominance. I gave up and Jax took control, pushing me up against the wall. Instinctively, I lifted my leg and he pulled me up until I wrapped my legs around his waist.

He pulled away and looked at me. "I think we should stop here. I miss you so much but I can wait." He said as I rested my head on his shoulder. I felt kisses on my shoulder and I leaned away giving him more space and he kissed all the way to the sweet spot on my neck. I gasped as he sucked lightly.

He pulled away and this time, he pulled me off the wall and set me on my feet, on the floor. "Leo..." he trailed off. I wanted him so badly but I wasn’t ready. I knew how things were with Jax. We might both get carried away and we wouldn’t be able to take things slowly.

You’re right." I moved under the water and let it wash over me. He leaned down and kissed my cheek. "I feel bad for putting you in this position."
