The Low-key Evil Wizard BOSS-Chapter 59 - 55: [Bloodline Assassin] Dream Invasion
’I have to say, your dreamscape... is really useful!’
Zorn mused as he watched the Dream Maker, an expert at weaving dreams and hypnotism, get taken down with such ease.
’If this were outside, I’d need more time to prepare and would have to guard against this Dream Maker’s counterattack.’
’But within the dreamscape, our Sequence Spiritualities are much closer.’
’And even if he wanted to counterattack or call for help, he’d first have to go through the process of "waking up."’
Obviously, Zorn wasn’t going to give him that chance.
A single, deep baptism with his Evil Spirit Authority had captured this Level One Peak Dream Maker. Zorn planned to subject him to two more deep baptisms later to ensure the subsequent plan would proceed perfectly.
After organizing his thoughts, Zorn asked,
"What is the Forbidden Bloodline’s efficiency for extracting the Forbidden Blood of the Upper Ranker, the Double-Ringed Snake?"
"Reporting to you, Lord Messenger, the extraction efficiency for the Forbidden Blood isn’t very high. Each time, we must sacrifice at least three humans to obtain a single portion of ’Forbidden Blood.’"
"And even that one portion of Forbidden Blood dissipates quite a bit."
"But fortunately, in the last few days, Lord Comir Faulkner has researched a method to perfectly seal the Forbidden Blood."
Hearing this, Zorn’s brow furrowed slightly.
"Sacrificing three humans to get one portion of Forbidden Blood... that’s a bit inefficient!"
’If it were me, I could get a portion of Forbidden Blood by sacrificing just one human. Ahem... As I suspected, this damned Evil God Organization is actually murdering the citizens of Ogrande City.’
’They must be severely suppressed, and all their assets must be confiscated!’
While obtaining this key intelligence, Zorn also identified the key person involved.
The Mad Wizard, Comir Faulkner.
He was the chief research Wizard within the Forbidden Bloodline.
According to the normal course of events, when the Church struck the Forbidden Bloodline’s hideout,
the Mad Wizard, Comir Faulkner, would escape with a large amount of "Forbidden Blood."
This Forbidden Blood would drive him to become increasingly mad and degenerate, but his power would also grow at a terrifying rate.
"Besides Comir, who else from the Forbidden Bloodline organization is stationed here?"
Zorn asked again.
"There is also a Level 5 Vice Bishop, Lord Blood Knight, and two Level 4 Priests."
"Besides them, there are about twelve Assistant Priests like myself, as well as over thirty devout Believers who have completely given their Faith to the Forbidden Bloodline."
Zorn nodded slightly.
’No wonder it takes the Church’s power to solve the trouble here. The Forbidden Bloodline has indeed invested a lot of strength in this place.’
A Level 5 Mad Wizard.
A Level 5 Vice Bishop, the Blood Knight.
And two Level 4 Priests.
The Assistant Priests (Deacons) below them are generally Level 1 or Level 2. The exceptional ones are Level 3, and these Level Three members are all set to become Preparatory Priests.
Faced with so many Transcendents,
if Zorn were to quietly initiate the Calamity and wait for it to expand, he could definitely win.
But whether he could leisurely obtain the "Forbidden Blood" here was another matter entirely.
That Mad Wizard, Comir, was exceptionally cunning.
At the slightest sign of trouble, he might flee with everything.
Even if he didn’t take it, their dying counterattack would most likely prevent Zorn from obtaining the Forbidden Blood intact.
He glanced at the devout-looking Boyd.
’It’s time to let the Believers use their own initiative.’
Zorn wasn’t very familiar with this place. It was often better to let insiders act on their own.
After all, it’s always harder to guard against your own people.
"I want to get as much of the Forbidden Blood as possible. Do you... have a way?"
Zorn asked, his voice low.
After a moment of thought, Boyd slowly began to speak.
"The Forbidden Blood is currently sealed on the second basement level, guarded by the two Priests."
"Every time the Sealing Gate is opened to transport resources inside, the two Priests conduct a strict inspection before opening the seal."
"Right now, it’s nearly impossible to take out the Forbidden Blood without being noticed."
"But, Lord Messenger, if you are not in a hurry, I might have a good plan that will allow you to obtain the Forbidden Blood."
"Oh?"
Zorn raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Explain."
"It’s like this, Lord Messenger."
"A friend of mine has an extremely outstanding Talent. Although he’s only Level 2, he is highly favored by the Vice Bishop, Lord Gregor, and is currently a key person being cultivated by the Forbidden Bloodline."
"He is currently responsible for transporting the Forbidden Blood."
"Just yesterday, he told me that a batch of Forbidden Blood will be transported out next week, and he is the one who will be carrying it."
"If... Lord Messenger, you could bring him under the command of the great Lord of Holy Witch..."
"Then, there might be an opportunity to exploit."
This Dream Maker might not have known why his Level 2 friend received such special treatment.
But Zorn understood instantly.
’So there’s also a Bloodline, favored by the Bloodline Power. This is getting interesting.’
Bloodline.
This refers to a special kind of being that can more easily digest and absorb the Forbidden Blood, as well as unleash its power.
When normal Transcendents come into contact with the "Forbidden Blood," they always suffer severe side effects. They might even go berserk, mutate, lose control, and devolve into terrifying Bloodline Monsters.
But for a Bloodline, this is not the case.
"What Sequence is that friend of yours?"
Zorn asked after a moment of thought.
"He’s a Level 2 Assassin, very skilled in stealth and assassination."
’The Bloodline Assassin Sequence. That’s a very good Sequence, but the risk factor is a bit high. It’s easy to lose control, and it carries a terrible bloodline curse.’
"Can you bring your friend here and... drag him into a dreamscape?"
Zorn inquired.
Hearing this, Boyd revealed a warm smile.
"Respected Lord Messenger, for me, this is a very, very simple matter."
"This morning, I already made an agreement with Regina. After nightfall, the two of us will join forces to enter a dreamscape and invade the dreams of the Bena family’s youngest daughter..."
Dream assault!
How could Zorn not be aware of the nefarious activities Dream Makers loved to engage in?
It was realistic, clear, efficient, and left no trouble behind.
But this time, he was about to run into big trouble.
’Once I capture this Level 2 Bloodline Assassin, the rest of the plan can unfold perfectly.’
After getting a detailed understanding of the Forbidden Bloodline’s hideout layout within the dreamscape,
it was almost 5 o’clock when Zorn exited the dreamscape.
During this time, Zorn had subjected the Dream Maker, Boyd, to two more deep baptisms of his Authority.
This left him with absolutely no possibility of breaking free.
Just as he was about to leave, Zorn suddenly thought of something. He turned around.
"People often come here to donate. I assume those donations went into your own pocket, right?"
"Yes, Lord Messenger."
The Dream Maker, Boyd, replied respectfully.
"Then how much have you saved up?"
"About 330 gold pounds."
"Is that all?"
"I have about 80-some gold pounds on me."
"Then give me 400 gold pounds."
The kind-hearted Zorn even left the Dream Maker with a dozen or so gold pounds for daily expenses, so as not to arouse suspicion.
Walking out of the Beifulin Relief Station, the afternoon sun felt warm on his skin.
’Hmm... not bad. A gain of 400 gold pounds. Subtracting the 40 I spent, that’s a net profit of 360.’
’Adding the 3,240-some gold pounds I had left, I now have a total of 3,600 gold pounds.’
’Hmm, Boyd said the Bena family’s noodles are very good. I should go try them.’
Zorn’s figure quickly disappeared down the street.
...
Bena Noodle House.
For just 6 copper coins, you could get a large bowl of noodles.
The Bena family’s youngest daughter, who helped out at the shop, was about thirteen or fourteen years old.
She was lively and cute, at the budding age of a young maiden. She was very pretty and well-developed for her age—clearly a future beauty.
No wonder those two had gotten dirty ideas.
After eating a full six large bowls of egg noodles and paying with a Silver Dragon, Zorn melted into the darkness to wait quietly.
Soon, the night grew deep and quiet.
Zorn, who had long since anchored the location, waited until the Dream Maker, Boyd, and the slim, apathetic youth, the Bloodline Assassin Regina, arrived.
The rest of the process was simple.
The Dream Maker created a thick and sturdy dreamscape cage.
The unsuspecting Bloodline Assassin plunged headfirst into it.
The "dream assault" he had been anticipating began.
Only, he was the one being assaulted.
Realizing something was wrong, the Bloodline Assassin tried to use his Bloodline Power to escape, but Zorn would never give him such a chance.
A portion of the Black Mist guided by Zorn directly formed an insurmountable barrier.
During the confrontation in the first half of the night, Zorn subjected him to three deep and slow baptisms of Authority.
This turned him into a devout Believer of the Lord of Holy Witch.
With the capture of these two Believers,
Zorn could now begin setting up the Evil Spirit Calamity for the Forbidden Bloodline’s secret hideout.
