The Last King Of Darkness-Chapter 1345 - 665: Holy King (Part 2)
"Hmm, strange, I don’t sense any danger here. This True King seems friendly to humans. He must have left some of his power to ensure you receive his legacy."
Asa’s tone was filled with anticipation.
"I really hope he left me something useful..."
Rod pushed Asa’s words out of his mind and followed Peibela into the depths of the Horror Castle.
This was an unimaginably enormous hall, its height lost in darkness, with no end in sight, and its depth akin to an abyss. The boundless, overwhelming darkness resembled a colossal beast, ready to devour them completely.
The four stood before this vast space, like mayflies before heaven and earth, feeling nothing but their own insignificance.
After a long time, Horus finally exhaled: "Let’s go in, the Primordial Spirit Power and Star Source must be in here."
Peibela softly said, "Besides this place, we’ve been to every other part of the Horror Castle. The Starry Queen couldn’t have been wrong, and the clues and prophecies in the ruins prove this point."
Her figure floated as she once again took the lead in the group, shrouded in gray-brown mist, the aura of time swirling around her. She was prepared for time retrospection, ready to face any danger.
However, in the deepest part of this Horror Castle, they neither encountered monsters nor any naturally formed dangers from outside.
The four walked in the darkness for a long time, without encountering any danger.
Rod didn’t know how many times he turned his head, looking around. There was nothing unusual in the profound darkness, nothing but the rough ground, and even with the absolute vision of the Eye of the Soul, he couldn’t see the end of it.
"Here."
Rod hesitated for a moment and said.
"Could it be a maze of space?"
Peibela shook her head: "No, this is normal space, only traces of compression and expansion, just like the inside of those Divine Towers."
"But, it’s too deep here, hard to believe... maybe we should pick up the pace."
Horus shook his head, "No, Rod, never let your guard down. Even though our time is not abundant, in this situation, it is more than enough. Even if we walk here for a day, as long as everything is smooth, it is worth it." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Rod said no more. After all, this was the True King’s legacy; in its depths, there might be an arrangement left by the True King. Rushing forward with the Spirit Realm Ship recklessly was too risky.
Under the True King, even the Resurrection Stone might not be of use.
The four continued to move deeper at their original pace. Fortunately, they did not walk for a whole day. About half a clock hour later, Rod sensed something unusual.
"Ahead, there’s something ahead!"
The three of them tensed up immediately, Peibela’s whole body shone with spiritual energy, the gray mist tightly covering her: "What is it?"
"It seems... it’s a wall, a very high wall."
Horus said, "Have we reached the end?" He tried to keep his voice calm, but his trembling arms betrayed his inner tension.
"I don’t know, my vision is strange, as if there’s a haze over my eyes."
Horus suggested, "Turn off your Spiritual Vision, maybe there’s an extremely powerful presence ahead. But no matter how strong the spiritual energy or how high the position, as long as you don’t activate your Spiritual Vision, don’t try to glimpse it, you won’t be harmed."
Rod felt a shiver in his heart; as expected of the Archbishop, both thoughtful and experienced.
He turned off the Eye of the Soul and moved forward with the others.
Gradually, their physical eyesight began to see tangible matter.
Everyone couldn’t help but quicken their pace. Soon, they saw a gigantic cyan wall.
The wall was ancient and worn, covered in an unknown decaying substance like cobwebs. Not only Rod, but also the Book of Knowledge and Asa in his mind almost pressed their faces against the obelisk.
Everyone eagerly wanted to witness the legend left by the True King who inaugurated the Fire Epoch.
However, after searching for a long time, they did not find any hidden doors or passages on the wall.
"Could this be a dead end?"
Peibela said, slightly dejected.
"Did someone take the True King’s legacy before us?"
Qingyu shook his head slightly: "Impossible. The Starry Queen clearly told us there is the purest Star Source in the Horror Castle, proving that in the mid to late Fire Epoch, humans did not find the location of the Horror Castle and entered the Dark Epoch. The fire waned, humanity declined, and besides us, it’s difficult for anyone to find it. The True King’s legacy must still be here."
"But where is it?"
No one could answer. Searching such a huge space thoroughly, how long would that take?
The duration of the Abyss Blade is not infinite. Although Rod brought many, its protective effect gradually diminishes. This is due to protection fatigue, and a rest period is necessary to return to normal.
Rod fell into deep thought. He sensed something was off, but couldn’t put his finger on it.
In contemplation, he walked along the wall for a while and suddenly discovered that the wall was curved.
Hmm?
Rod immediately perked up and walked further, finding the curve extremely uniform. Suddenly, an idea flashed through his mind.
