The Lady of the Prestigious Family is a Big Boss-Chapter 861: I Won’t Let You Become a Widow (Part 3)
The sea wind roared, nearly blowing off the hat.
Jiang Yisheng raised his hand to press down the hat, tightened it, and casually withdrew his gaze.
Near dusk, only then did he rise to head back.
...
Country Y.
Every winter, the weather in Country Y is always unpredictable.
A sudden heavy rain caught everyone off guard, forcing the race to be temporarily halted even before it started.
The biennial motorcycle race, also the largest event among motorcycle races, was said to have Black J participating today, drawing a full house where some fans couldn’t get tickets and had to squat outside with binoculars just to witness Black J’s stunning skills.
However, the weather wasn’t cooperative; the race was interrupted by a rainstorm before it even began.
The competitors were waiting in the rest area, waiting for the rain to stop or for it to lessen before continuing.
"Where did Black J go? Why isn’t she here?"
"Who knows? I just saw her, but now she’s gone."
"She’s Black J, might’ve gone to the VIP lounge to catch up with the judges, instead of waiting here with us."
The tone was so sour, it surpassed the sourness of green plums.
"People are just sour for not getting the grapes; Black J’s skills are indisputable. Who here dares to claim they’re better than Black J?" Among them, there were rational ones who weren’t blinded by jealousy.
"Exactly, Black J came here today with her husband; it’s only normal for a couple to wander around, enjoy the scenery, and have a date." Another agreed.
"That’s right, MK Group’s president, today is truly lucky to see the real person."
A group of men discussed loudly, creating a scene reminiscent of women gossiping.
Meanwhile, the two protagonists being discussed were taking shelter from the rain under a corridor.
Li Mochan encircled Ye Jiuliang from behind, holding a phone, both watching a video sent by Veya.
It’s all videos of Xiaobai playing, including clips of Xiaobai being grumpy when waking up.
"Look, Xiaobai’s angry face is just like yours." Ye Jiuliang teased, watching Xiaobai cry in the video.
Admitting Xiaobai resembles him now?
Li Mochan raised an eyebrow, "When does he resemble you?"
"Of course when he’s in a good mood, his smile is exactly like mine." Ye Jiuliang replied with a cheerful smile.
Li Mochan chuckled silently, reaching out to touch her belly.
"What are you doing?" Ye Jiuliang was puzzled.
Li Mochan, in all seriousness, replied, "Seeing if there’s too much air in your belly, you’re blowing a lot of hot air."
Ye Jiuliang twitched her lips and slapped his hand away, "Go away."
As they bantered, the rain gradually stopped.
The clouds dispersed, and the sky turned blue in an instant.
"The race is about to start, all competitors please gather at the track."
A stable voice echoed from the broadcast system across the stadium.
"Let’s go." Ye Jiuliang bounced in place twice, then lightly hopped down the steps.
Her toes skimmed the rainwater on the ground, splashing tiny droplets.
"Take it slow, the ground is slippery." Li Mochan cautioned.
With his long legs, he swiftly caught up to her in a few strides.
Li Mochan took her hand and began to nag about his earlier instructions, "Safety first, no injuries, and..."
"Got it, I promise I won’t get hurt." Ye Jiuliang interrupted, she could already recite his reminders backward.
Li Mochan lightly flicked her forehead with a finger, "Just remember it well."
After the rain, the track was slippery, significantly increasing the risk of the race.
"Don’t worry, I won’t let you be a widow." Ye Jiuliang abruptly stopped, pinching his chin, and gave a light peck while looking up.
"Win and remember to take me out for a good meal."
Li Mochan’s dark eyes deepened, silently taking a note in his mind.
Teasing him, they’d settle this when they get home at night.
Back at the stadium, the other competitors were ready, only waiting for her.
Ye Jiuliang stepped onto the track, instantly becoming the center of attention; everyone’s eyes were fixed on her.
The stunning looks, commanding aura, every move captivated the crowd’s focus.
Amidst the colorful racing suits, only she wore black, a familiar setup, except this time without the silver mask.
Her identity as Black J was already exposed; wearing a mask would be redundant.
Amid the intense attention from everyone, Ye Jiuliang appeared indifferent, slowly walking to her motorcycle.
"Black J."
A voice from the audience suddenly broke the silence of the stadium.
Once someone started, other spectators joined in, unanimously chanting Ye Jiuliang’s nickname.
For a moment, the atmosphere became unprecedentedly intense, the entire venue boiled up.
"Black J."
"Black J."
In the hearts of fans, Black J’s abilities are beyond doubt, dominance equates to royalty, a universally accepted notion.
Other competitors watching Ye Jiuliang approach, met with her cold gaze, inexplicably felt intimidated.
The referee’s whistle blew, bringing a quietness over the spectators.
This was the rule of the stadium, fans consciously adhered to it.
In the VIP seats, Li Mochan watched the woman put on a black helmet, obscuring her face completely.
Picking up his phone, he casually snapped a photo.
Then, the starting gun sounded, simultaneously, the red light in the air turned green.
The race officially began, a fleet of motorcycles shot out like arrows from a bow.
Suddenly, a black motorcycle erupted from the crowd, leaving others trailing behind.
Seeing the black helmet, a surge of cheers erupted from the spectators.
"It’s Black J."
Amidst the cheering in his ears, Li Mochan didn’t feel too thrilled, his brows slightly furrowed with a trace of worry.
The track was so slippery, and she was speeding so fast.
Unaware of his concerns, Ye Jiuliang was already thoroughly enjoying herself.
She fully opened the throttle, completely disregarding the risk of the track being slippery after the rain.
The motorcycle leaned, she lowered her body, executed a cool drift, skillfully navigating the bend.
"Bang—"
Behind her, a racer suddenly veered off course, too much rainwater on the ground, speeding too fast, slid and crashed into the guardrail.
In races, this type of situation was common; other racers dared not be distracted, focusing solely on chasing the black figure.
However, this time the track was famously known as the "death track," the treacherous route, numerous bends all were perilous.
Adding the slippery ground, crashes occurred at every bend.
Halfway through the race, everyone’s hearts were in their throats.
Ye Jiuliang eyed the bend ahead, the most dangerous turn of the track, her icy gaze slightly narrowed, suddenly accelerating.
The bike leaned, almost parallel to the ground; from the fans’ viewpoint in the stands, it seemed Ye Jiuliang would be thrown off the bike the next second.
