I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate-Chapter 143 - 137: Son of a Lizard Girl...
What was happening?
Su Ze immediately got out of bed and looked out the window. He saw the new recruits at the base assembling quickly.
He threw on his clothes, ran outside, and upon seeing Jia Yuan, asked, "Mr. Jia, what’s going on?"
Jia Yuan sighed. "An unusual number of beasts have appeared by the sea. We don’t have enough people, so we have no choice but to send these new recruits to hold the line."
The new recruits weren’t actually that different from the veterans in terms of evolution level; the only thing they lacked was experience.
Su Ze thought for a moment, then said, "I’ll go help too. Every little bit counts."
Jia Yuan nodded in agreement.
A short while later, the soldiers finished assembling. Su Ze saw that Ye Jin had also arrived. The unconcealed urgency and worry on her face suggested that Ning Yushen and the others were in serious trouble.
"Move out!"
At Jia Yuan’s command, the main force advanced toward the sea.
...
「Luohui Beach.」
A brutal battle was unfolding here.
Countless Marine Beasts were frantically charging onto the land—crabs and lobsters larger than men, seals and sea lions the size of elephants, and giant walruses as big as small hills.
Some fish-type beasts were even flopping onto the shore.
The Dongli Navy soldiers formed a wall of flesh and blood to resist the beasts’ assault, but the sheer number of creatures was overwhelming. They were forced to retreat step by step, buying time for reinforcements to arrive.
"Reinforcements are here!" someone cheered.
Someone else glanced back and cursed, "The reinforcements are just a bunch of greenhorns?!"
"Who else were you expecting? Support from other cities couldn’t have gotten here this fast."
"It’s not all greenhorns. Isn’t that Mr. Jia? The Time Devourer is here too. And who’s that new face? He’s got some nerve, walking so close to the Time Devourer."
Su Ze was still wearing his disguise mask, so no one recognized him. He swept his gaze across the battlefield. Even to his untrained eye, something was clearly wrong.
It was strange enough for so many beasts to come ashore at once, let alone the fact that some of them, like the fish-type beasts, couldn’t even survive on land. ’What, did they eat so much they felt like coming ashore for a walk?’
’Are they being driven by a person, or perhaps a high-level beast?’
Jia Yuan grabbed a soldier and asked, "Where’s Mr. Ning?"
"Mr. Ning went into the sea. She said she was going to find the source of the problem."
Clearly, anyone could see there was something strange about this large-scale invasion of Marine Beasts.
Since Mr. Ning had already gone to solve it, they didn’t need to overthink things. They just had to hold the line.
Su Ze charged forward and activated his Ant Power. With a flurry of punches, he blew up the heads of several Marine Beasts one after another.
Ye Jin also rushed to the front line, weaving quickly through the horde of beasts. She only touched each beast once, never getting entangled in a fight.
However, a single touch from her was enough to take out half the life of a Tier 1 beast, and it would leave a Tier 2 beast stunned for a long time.
It had to be said, Ye Jin’s unorthodox methods were quite effective at a time like this.
This was Su Ze’s first time fighting Marine Beasts. The creatures from the sea were bizarre; many were highly venomous or covered in spines, enough to make any ordinary evolver of the same tier wary.
But Su Ze’s body was incredibly tough. He wasn’t afraid of any Marine Beast at Tier 2 or below. With the boost from his Ant Power, he could blow them up with a single punch, whether it was a venomous sea urchin or a blue-ringed octopus.
Even against the crab and shellfish-type beasts known for their defense, Su Ze could directly pierce their hard shells with a needle-like strike.
He just needed to do his best to avoid the Tier 3 beasts on the beach.
There were only a few Tier 3 beasts anyway, and they were being handled by Mr. Jia and the other Butterfly Stage experts from the military.
A giant seal charged menacingly toward Su Ze, its body at least ten times his size. Su Ze’s Ant Power Skill was on cooldown, so he just threw a punch that hammered it aside. But surprisingly, the creature didn’t even fight back; it just brushed past him with that same menacing momentum.
’What’s going on?’
Su Ze froze for a second. Just then, his Ant Power Skill finished its cooldown, and he quickly chased after the creature to subdue it.
He felt something was off. As he continued to kill the beasts, he observed their behavior and realized they didn’t seem very aggressive.
They weren’t acting like invaders. It was more like they were fleeing for their lives!
’Could there be something in the sea that they’re afraid of?’
But regardless, he couldn’t let these beasts flood into the city. Su Ze had no choice but to continue killing the Marine Beasts.
Su Ze’s performance was outstanding. Despite being at the Cocoon Stage, he was effortlessly one-shotting beasts of the same tier, causing many soldiers to look over in astonishment, wondering where this formidable new face had come from.
The addition of Su Ze and the others significantly eased the pressure on the soldiers. But the good times didn’t last. Before long, even more beasts swarmed in.
"Why are there more of them the more we kill?!"
Su Ze immediately deployed his Gravity Dust Sand. Any Tier 1 beast that entered his vicinity was instantly crushed to death by the gravity, while Tier 2 beasts were severely affected, their movements slowing to a crawl, allowing Su Ze to easily blow their heads off.
He became a human meat grinder, charging into the horde and using gravity to crush a large swath of Tier 1 beasts. Then, he unleashed a Furious Waves, killing or stunning all the beasts in a circle around him.
The soldiers stared, dumbfounded. ’Is that really the power of someone at the Cocoon Stage?’
"So strong! Where did this god-tier expert come from?!"
"Why does that skill look a little familiar?"
Even Ye Jin was slightly stunned. She felt that Su Ze’s power was even more ferocious than her "All Dao Converge into One Stream." She couldn’t help but feel a sliver of self-doubt. ’Is my style really that strong?’
’I just haven’t fully developed my skills yet. In the future, I’ll definitely be stronger than Su Ze,’ Ye Jin reassured herself.
