Chapter 1447: Chapter 1451: Assassin

Immortal Wei Huo, upon hearing Lin Fei’s command, instantly soared into the sky, leaving many behind him shocked. After all, many of them found it hard to believe that someone could actually fly into the sky?

Lin Fei, disregarding any concerns about conserving his strength, flew directly into the sky too. He had been in a rush, losing his composure, but when Immortal Wei Huo followed behind, Lin Fei suddenly remembered that Mu Shanshan still had the tracking system he specially equipped her with — a high-tech locator hidden within her ring.

Lin Fei immediately opened his phone, searched for Mu Shanshan’s location, and discovered that she was already more than fifty miles away from there. Without a second thought, Lin Fei burst through the air in pursuit!

Ling Weiwei and the others stood dumbfounded, watching Lin Fei fly away. They had never expected that Lin Fei was also hiding his abilities and could take flight, leaving them all stunned, unable to comprehend what was happening.

Lin Fei relentlessly chased after the location on the tracker, while more people in New City looked up to the sky, noticing a shadow swiftly passing overhead, prompting many to hurriedly take out their phones to record it.

Yet, as soon as they took out their phones, the person had already vanished, leaving only a tiny black dot on the horizon that soon disappeared without a trace.

At this moment, within the National Security Bureau, a secret department specializing in monitoring all of Mo Country’s ancient martial artists — known as the Guardians of Mo Country — was alerted.

The organization is spread throughout various places, especially in areas with larger populations, and traces of them can be found. Spotting Lin Fei and Immortal Wei Huo openly flying in the sky, they immediately reported the incident to their superiors.

Upon learning the news, it was immediately relayed to Elder Qin. The efficiency of the relevant departments soared to unprecedented heights, and Elder Qin quickly reviewed the high-definition footage. He discovered not only Lin Fei but another person, who seemed to be carrying yet another individual.

He zoomed in on the image, instantly recognizing the person’s identity.

"Mu Shanshan! No wonder Lin Fei went berserk. Who is behind this? Investigate immediately!" Elder Qin demanded, pointing out that this issue wasn’t Lin Fei’s misconduct, but rather someone’s attempt to abduct Mu Shanshan, prompting Lin Fei and Immortal Wei Huo to give chase.

"It seems Lin Fei has drawn a lot of attention. Should we..." Elder Sun began to suggest.

"No, given Lin Fei’s current status, we no longer have the authority to intervene in his affairs, nor can we hide him away. What we must do now is support his endeavors, and immediately instruct the management to clear the scene, whilst ensuring all media reports on this are completely sealed off — not a whisper should get out!" Elder Qin commanded at once. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Yes!" Elder Sun quickly responded, as did the other generals, each taking responsibility for their respective duties, leading the entire official system of Mo Country to spring into action.

At this moment, Lin Fei’s speed was incredibly fast, having already caught up with Immortal Wei Huo. He was unsure how Immortal Wei Huo could follow their movements, but he knew his current priority was to quickly overtake and reclaim Mu Shanshan!

Whizz!

Immortal Wei Huo noticed Lin Fei flying overhead, his expression serious. This was a kidnapping case, clearly targeting Mu Shanshan, yet he sensed no one else near Lin Fei.

Given Mu Shanshan’s recent actions, Immortal Wei Huo believed this scenario was most likely.

Ultimately, Immortal Wei Huo concluded the perpetrator must be an enemy of Lin Fei; otherwise, such a foolish act wouldn’t occur. Lin Fei’s enemies were few and far between.

Lin Fei, caring little for all else, was determined to rescue Mu Shanshan immediately.

Lin Fei had neared the ancient martial artist, finally catching a glimpse of the figure. Clearly, they did not possess Lin Fei’s level of power. Within mere seconds, Lin Fei closed the distance between them.

"Kill!"

Upon reaching the opponent, Lin Fei shouted suddenly, pointing his finger toward them, as a cold gleam flashed across the sky, aimed directly at the one holding Mu Shanshan.

The Moon Blade, invisible and elusive, was difficult to detect. Hearing Lin Fei’s shout, the opponent glanced back only to see the air ripple slightly before a cold beam pierced straight through the ancient martial artist’s throat, blood spurting on the spot.

"Ah!" Mu Shanshan screamed, as the blood splattered across her face. Though usually indifferent, she was still a woman and couldn’t possibly withstand the sight of blood!

With the ancient martial artist dealt with, their body lost the ability to stay airborne, plummeting downward.

Lin Fei swiftly descended, catching Mu Shanshan, and flew towards a distant waterfall.

"Shanshan, do you need a rinse?" Lin Fei offered a smile.

Mu Shanshan, though still shaken, relaxed upon seeing Lin Fei’s face, nodding in agreement.

Splosh!

The cascading water washed away the blood on Mu Shanshan, cleansing her completely, and Lin Fei hurriedly left the waterfall. Though a wash was beneficial, Mu Shanshan had only recently begun her cultivation; the waterfall’s chill could still negatively affect her health, potentially causing illness.

"Honey..." Mu Shanshan clung to Lin Fei’s neck,

Lin Fei wrapped his arms around Mu Shanshan’s waist, speaking, "I’m sorry for scaring you."

"It’s alright, I’m okay now, right? Besides, it wasn’t your fault; someone must be plotting against me." Mu Shanshan explained, having learned the attackers were hired, and their ambush on her was clearly premeditated.

"Who knows who’s behind this!" Lin Fei’s eyes glinted with cold resolve. If he ever discovered the identity of the perpetrator, he would make them regret their actions!

At this moment, Immortal Wei Huo also arrived. Seeing the two unharmed, and glancing at the slain individual, he suddenly stared!

"There’s another person?!"

Without hesitation, Immortal Wei Huo soared in the direction beyond, arriving behind a massive rock, and noticed nothing but two footprints past it. However, it was clear someone had indeed been there, yet if they entered the dense forest, tracking them would prove difficult.

"Immortal, did you capture the person?" Lin Fei inquired.

Immortal Wei Huo shook his head, responding, "The person escaped into the forest, capturing them is impossible."

Lin Fei nodded, acknowledging the challenge. Nonetheless, he approached the corpse, noting a mark on the wrist, and asked, "Immortal, do you recognize this mark?"

Immortal Wei Huo glanced at it, remarking, "An assassin’s mark."

Lin Fei furrowed his brow, "An assassin? What does it mean?"
