The Invincible Full-Moon System-Chapter 1451 The Hand That Tips Fate
As per the deal he made with the scholar, Rex was brought to face Lord Istvan.
His face was covered by an isolation mask, it completely negated his senses as he was transported from the torture chamber to a regal and massive pavilion. Rex didn't resist—he followed the lead until he was kicked from behind—forcing him to go on his knees.
Once he was free from the mask, he found himself in a spacious hall of black and azure.
Five guards surrounded him and pointed their spearheads to his neck.
But Rex was undisturbed.
He gazed ahead at an old man who exuded an air of authority and power.
An old man who boasted sharp features and draconic azure scales on his face—Lord Istvan.

…
Rex wasted no time in scanning Istvan and found him at the Immortal Spirit 4 rank.
His eyes were slightly throbbing as he scanned Istvan.
It seemed he could only scan anyone up to at maximum, Eternal Spirit 1 or 2 rank.
Both Davina and that dragon snake were higher than that to be able to overpower the scanning feature.
Scanning the stats window, Rex found some similarities between Selvaris—and Istvan.
Istvan's Spiritual Vein was Sea Dragon Arcalenta, it was the exact same as Selvaris' and his Soul Artifact was an Azure Dragon Heart. Possessing the Sea Dragon Arcalenta Spiritual Vein allowed him to grow the unique characteristics of a sea dragon.
It was his innate constitution.
Since both of them came from the same house, this wasn't a surprise.
Another similarity between the two was their bonus stat points.
Due to their equipment or treasures that they were wearing right now, their powers were basically close to being doubled. Compared to Rex who has no equipment and no treasures, they were far ahead in terms of accessories.
Rex's only redeeming part was his innate bloodline from his Werewolf side.
He gained bonus stats because of that.
But the gap between him and those who are an Immortal Spirit wasn't too far, it was manageable.
"What is your name?" Istvan finally spoke, eyeing Rex from a higher vantage point.
Rex was kneeling on the ground with spears pointed at him while Istvan was on an elevated platform, sitting cross-legged on a soft cushion—looking down on him. However, unlike Selvaris' gaze which was clearly viewing him as someone lesser, Istvan was looking at him as a person.
Pausing for a second, he then opened his mouth, "You can call me Rex"
"Is it true that you're willing to help us?" Istvan asked, his eyes narrowing.
It was clear that he was observing Rex's micro-expressions but Rex gave nothing away.
Glancing to the side, Rex saw Selvaris sitting across the table from Istvan—her lips pressed into a thin smile. Considering their interactions yesterday, she clearly doesn't want Rex to help them but for some reason, she didn't say anything.
Desperate, they are desperate.
"As long as I'm promised to be freed," Rex answered firmly, keeping eye contact with Selvaris.
Seeing this, Istvan cleared his throat and stole a glance at Selvaris.
"Eindra has told me that you are capable and could potentially help us," Istvan continued, gesturing to the scholar. "But I heard concerns from my daughter that you're hired by the Arcalen House. It was the reason you were captured to make sure you won't side with our enemies"
"I refused their offer, everyone in Arbitgea knew about it," Rex answered.
His tone was hinted with a vague annoyance.
Of course, the suspicion was superficial—Selvaris captured him because he had considerable strength.
From the very start, no matter what he said, she was planning to detain him here anyway.
Even though his answer was truthful and could be confirmed with a few questions to the people around the Void Hub, Selvaris would still detain him because of his strength. However, now, she became petty from pride and opted to torture him instead.
Istvan waved his hand dismissively, gesturing for the guards to stand down and they did.
In a union, the five guards around Rex stepped back and pulled their spears away.
"Tell me, Rex…" Istvan added. "Is there any reason why I should trust you to help us?"
"Because like you, I also have a timely problem and couldn't stay here for long," Rex answered with conviction, that was the undeniable truth of his current position. "Believe me, I want nothing more than to leave as soon as possible and resume what I was doing"
"Hmph!" Selvaris scoffed. "What kind of problem a commoner like you could even have?"
Istvan lifted a hand, warning Selvaris to be respectful.
Nodding his head, he then gestured, "No matter the problem you are facing, if you help us, I will not hold back to repay your deeds by handling your problem. With my power—I believe I could lend you a hand in dealing with your problem"
"Respectfully," Rex replied, keeping his gaze straight at Istvan. "You're not strong enough"
Upon hearing this, Istvan frowned.
Istvan believed Rex when he said that he had a big problem in his hand.
A problem's severity is relative to the person.
Just like the concept of value, it differs depending on the person's viewpoint.
But nevertheless, there would still be an objective path to deal with the problem at hand.
For Rex to say that Istvan, who was an immortal Spirit wasn't strong enough, was shocking to hear.
One couldn't help but wonder, what kind of problem does he have?
"But there's something I want in return if I decide to help you," Rex suddenly said, causing Istvan's eyes to light up in anticipation and curiosity. "Speak what you desire then. As long as I can provide it for you, then I will"
Rex nodded, "I want your house to nominate me to the Nameless Dragon Arena"
"…"
As soon as Rex said that, the entire hall went silent.
So silent that the distant distress could be heard as if it was happening right in front of them.
"Do you have a death wish?" Selvaris asked.
Despite the ridiculousness of the situation, she didn't laugh—her expression was dead serious.
Any mention of the Duke's Royal Household must be taken with utmost respect.
Abruptly, Selvaris stood up after grabbing the teapot and holding it by her gently—as she stepped down from the platform with deliberate steps. Her condescending eyes were still fixed on Rex. She then came to a halt in front of Rex.
"Selvaris, leave him be," Istvan warned but she didn't listen.
She ignored him, focusing on only Rex.
"You were easily captured by me," Selvaris started, her voice a whisper and her gaze narrowed. "You're not even someone worthy to stand beside me and you thought you could be with Lady Davina? Your fantasy is repulsive and dangerous. Here, let me help wake you up and face reality"
Gracefully, Selvaris tilted the teacup and poured the boiling hot tea on Rex.
Rex only tilted his head down as the hot tea water was poured on his head.
Once the teapot was empty, he raised his gaze to look at Selvaris without any emotion.
Seeing his stoic expression only made Selvaris angrier.
But Istvan's voice boomed again, "That's enough, his decision is not yours to make"
Upon hearing this, Selvaris sneered before returning back to her seat.
Sighing lightly at this, Istvan focused on Rex again, "Do you even know what you're asking?"
"Yes," Rex nodded. "I want that as my reward. Promise me that and I'll help you without fail"
Upon hearing this, Istvan eventually nodded—Rex's well-being wasn't his concern but still, he should at least give him a piece of advice, "I'll give you what you want. However, a friendly warning, reach the Eternal Spirit rank first before attempting that. I have no qualms waiting for a few hundred years to repay you"
Moments later.
Since the battle couldn't wait, Rex was instantly told to change his attire.
Just like the other soldiers under the Narsa House, Rex wore light azure armor and a dragon helmet.
<Arcalenta Rebel Dragon Chainmail: +30,000 Strength and +50,000 Endurance>
<Arcalenta Rebel Leg Armor: +30,000 Endurance and +30,000 Agility>
<Arcalenta Rebel Fanged Helmet: +20,000 Endurance and 20,000 Spiritual Points>
Although the armor was more or less the same as the other soldiers, there was one modification that was done at the last minute. Instead of wearing a chest plate, he was given a modified chainmail that was not inferior to the chest plate.
On top of that, the chainmail's sleeves were cut short to his shoulders.
Eindra said that Lord Garvain, the leader of the other side only respected men who were manly.
Since Rex has an extremely toned and muscular stature from his military training and enhancement of his Werewolf side, it would be way better for him to boast his muscles as that would make it way easier for them to gain Lord Garvain's respect.
'For Lord Garvain, the Narsa House was the limp-wristed'
It was the exact sentence from Eindra.
Lord Garvain thought that because the Narsa House was those who were born with the Sea Dragon Mage Arcalenta Spiritual Vein which made them robust in terms of life energy but weak physically, while the other side had the Sea Dragon Cavalier Arcalenta, making them physically strong.
Before leaving for battle, Rex memorized his new special abilities and also checked his status window.
He needed to know exactly how strong he was currently as he was now an Ascendant Spirit 1.

Upon checking his stats, Rex looked outside of the window and found the sun was still shining brightly.
As the Royal Black Prince, his body absorbed moonlight energy, allowing him to transform and harness the moon's power at will. Added with the Sovereign of the Night skill, he could easily double all of his physical stats at will.
But without the night, his regeneration wasn't as strong.
He would need to be careful and avoid fatal wounds as he wouldn't be able to heal in time.
Nodding his head as he could certainly hold his own—with his current power, Rex then reached into his pocket and took out a purple pill the size of a marble. Selvaris concocted this pill—and he was told to eat it.
It was a poison—he would be given the antidote once the battle was over.
Soon, the door was banged a couple of times.
It was Rex's cue to step out.
Exiting the room, Rex was met with Eiran who was waiting outside.
Without uttering a single word, Rex showed Eiran the purple pill and swallowed it in front of him.
Seeing this, Eiran nodded before the two headed outside.
Along the way, as both of them walked out of the house, Eiran pulled Rex to the side.
Eiran looked down, avoiding eye contact with Rex as he wiped the edges of his mouth in distress—he clearly wanted to say something but was having a difficult time finding the right words to say. He was thinking so hard that Rex could practically hear the gears in his mind turning.
"Is there something more that I need to know?" Rex asked, raising an eyebrow.
Upon hearing this, Eiran nodded sheepishly.
He paused for a couple more seconds before he raised his gaze to meet with Rex's.
"I know that you're feeling angry right now even though you didn't show it on your face," He started, his voice light and understanding. "I also know that the Young Mistress shouldn't humiliate you as she did and Lord Istvan should've been stricter. So, in their behalf, I apologize. It's stressful times and their minds were distracted too much"
"Both of them aren't usually this bad," He added sincerely.
Rex stared at him with the same, monolith face.
Despite not having Whiro Necklace of Despair with him that allows him to sense fear through the sight of bleak aura, Rex could tell that Eiran was already scared from earlier. Considering that the executioner never came back, he must've run away.
It was understandable that Eiran would apologize like this.
His instincts were probably screaming at him earlier.
He must've assumed I have a powerful background as the torture method usually never fails.
Shaking his head inside, Rex's lips stretched into a thin smile, "I forgive you."
