The Husband I Snatched Is Not Right!-Chapter 68: Husband, Hold Me
Wei Zhao wanted to leave to give her space.
But he wasn’t as quick as Yu Tingwan.
The girl swiftly stripped off her cotton clothes and eagerly stepped into the bathing barrel.
The hot water soothed every inch of her skin, seemingly washing away some of the discomfort and fatigue, and she sighed contentedly.
Wei Zhao had never experienced such an awkward situation.
Facing the wall, he slowly pulled the blanket over his head, but couldn’t block out the faint sounds of water.
Unconsciously, the image of the girl undressing piece by piece appeared before his eyes.
Her long neck, delicate collarbones.
Slender waist, full chest.
Though she was thin, she had everything she should have, even... curves and contours.
She would be considered extremely beautiful.
At least, Wei Zhao had never seen anyone with eyes as pure and thoughts as clear as hers, yet with a tear mole at the corner of her eye adding a touch of charming allure to her face.
These two aspects didn’t clash at all.
When Wei Zhao realized what he was thinking, his eyelids twitched.
He was never a reckless person. In earlier years, he avoided women who tried to throw themselves at him, but Yu Tingwan had indeed influenced him.
Yet Wei Zhao didn’t dwell on it for long.
He hadn’t married and had no experience with relationships. That girl called him husband all day with her soft voice, and they’d shared a bed for days. Having gone through what they just did, even a saint couldn’t remain indifferent.
Fortunately, he soon suppressed his emotions.
His breathing became calm from being chaotic, and Wei Zhao rid himself of all improper thoughts.
His expression also calmed down, returning to its usual lethargy.
Compared to wanting to die, those fleeting desires were insignificant.
The girl could no longer affect him in the least.
Wei Zhao slowly closed his eyes, feeling sleepy.
Yu Tingwan didn’t know the trouble she had caused Wei Zhao, nor did she know what he was thinking.
Even if someone told her that Wei Zhao’s thoughts were about her, in an impure way, Yu Tingwan wouldn’t believe it.
After all, Wei Zhao had another identity — her sister!
When the water was no longer as hot, Yu Tingwan got out of the bathing barrel.
She changed into a clean dudou and selected a thin set of inner clothes and pants.
After drying her washed hair, the girl could hardly keep her eyes open.
She headed straight for the bed.

Hui Niang washed the girl’s intimate clothing, but the cotton clothes were hard to wash. She planned to take them to the river and, thinking that Yue Shan hadn’t been out for days and might be feeling stifled, she took him along.
The layers of gloom hanging over the house faded away, and the two opened the door chatting and laughing, only to see the Village Chief’s youngest son hovering at the door.
"Isn’t this Chang Shu? What’s the matter?"
Hearing the voice, Chang Shu quickly walked over.
"Auntie."
He scratched his head, a bit embarrassed, "Normally, with trouble at your house, I shouldn’t be here."
"But earlier, a few of us brothers went on patrol and saw a girl coming down from the mountain."
She was too far away to see her face clearly.
The girl probably saw them too and, for some unknown reason, took another path, slipping away quickly.
At first, they didn’t think much of it, only feeling lucky that another survived after Old Man Zhou.
But afterwards...
"The more we thought about it, the more something felt off."
"Our eldest brother sent me to ask if Wan Niang came back."
If she came back, everyone would be happy, but if she didn’t, it would poke at their wounds.
So Chang Shu asked cautiously.
Hui Niang anxiously replied, "Thank you for your concern, it was Wan Niang, she’s fine."
Chang Shu: "Good, good, that’s great. Well, Auntie, I’ll let you get back to your work, I need to go."
He didn’t return to patrol but ran straight home.
The Village Chief was discussing follow-up plans with some elderly men who had a say in the village.
Maybe because he was anxious and worried about his grandson at the foot of the mountain, he paced up and down the yard.
In the past, when something happened, they would first seek help from the government. But now the situation didn’t allow it, and the whole village had to unite for self-rescue.
That’s when Chang Shu rushed in from outside.
"Grandpa, Wan Niang is alive!"
Everyone suddenly looked at him.
"It can’t be. Old Man Zhou said she was eaten."
"Chang Shu, don’t joke about something like this."
Chang Shu quickly said, "Aunt Hui said it herself, it can’t be wrong."
The Village Chief didn’t believe it, his face darkened: "Even ordinary men have slim chances. How could a girl escape unharmed?"
Chang Shu: "I was puzzled on my way back too."
"But if there was a tiger, how come Old Man Zhou was fine?"
"You can’t just say he had good luck."
Chang Shu scornfully added, "His wife died, he’s a bachelor, his son is dead too, didn’t even leave a descendant. How could such a person be lucky?"
He despised Old Man Zhou, who needed support from his daughter-in-law, and detested Old Man Zhou’s lecherous conduct even more.
"I heard he made a move on Granny Fan back in the day, and Old Man Fan gave him a beating with a stick."
"He always stirred up trouble among the women in the village."
"Not to mention that last year, I caught him pulling and tugging at a silly girl, who knows what could’ve happened."
"How could heaven spare someone like him and take Wan Niang?"
The Village Chief and the others: ...
They wanted to argue but couldn’t find the words.
"Grandpa sent someone to invite the hunter from next door, didn’t he? If you’re worried, have them search around the outskirts,"
Chang Shu said, "I figure they might turn everything upside down and find nothing."
He disdainfully added, "Who knows what madness overtook Old Man Zhou, cursing Wan Niang for no reason.
"Anyway, nothing good would come from it."

Wei Family.
Yu Tingwan had a fragrant sleep for an hour.
The sky was completely dark now.
She comfortably turned over and saw Wei Zhao’s head turned away from her.
When there was movement beside him, Wei Zhao woke up.
His lower back was poked.
Wei Zhao closed his eyes and pretended to be dead.
Yu Tingwan thought about what happened during the day, her emotions calming down.
She couldn’t keep secrets.
"Before encountering the White Tiger, Old Man Zhou was also in the mountains."
Wei Zhao didn’t care.
"You probably don’t remember him. Your parents didn’t mention Lady Xiao’s incident in front of you much, but you should have an idea. That fatal marriage arrangement back then was secretly set by his daughter-in-law, Matchmaker Liu, and your grandmother."
Wei Zhao still didn’t care.
"If you think about it, our two families are somewhat at odds."
She sounded very tired, her voice light but exceptionally fragile.
"I don’t know if he had bad intentions when he saw me alone up there, or if he planned ahead..."
Yu Tingwan hesitated to speak, "To forcibly defile me."
Wei Zhao suddenly opened his eyes, his deep, ink-like gaze cold, lips pressed into a tight line, anger simmering.
"I was quite scared."
"But there was no one on the mountain to help me."
"I couldn’t run."
Yu Tingwan spoke with increasing grievance.
These words seemed to be ones she could only share with Wei Shen.
"At that moment, I just thought, if worse comes to worst, I’d fight to the death with him, rather than let him succeed."
"Speaking of which, that White Tiger kind of saved me too."
She heard the girl whisper, "Turn around."
"Husband, hold me."
