The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne-Chapter 492: A Terrible News About the Demon Emperor
"Wow! A real baby dragon! So adorable!"
On the deck of the ship, Sharon stared at Eira in Nolanβs arms with sparkling eyes. π§πππππ«π·π€πΏππ‘.ππ€πΆ
Sensing her gaze, Eira grew a little scared and quickly hid her face in Nolanβs chest.
Her cute behavior only made Sharon even more eager to touch her.
Beside her, Cassiopeia and Draco could only stand silently, staring at Eira.
The two exchanged confused glances.
"Your Highness, that little dragon... is it the child of the white dragon?" Cassiopeia asked hesitantly.
Nolan didnβt avoid the question. "Yes. She came from the white dragonβs egg."
Cassiopeia frowned in surprise. "How did you get it? And why didnβt we know?"
After defeating the white dragon, she and Draco had immediately left, with no intention of checking its nest.
Even if they had checked it, it would have been pointless.
The nest had already been reduced to debris during their battle, so it was impossible for the dragon egg to have remained intact.
Draco stared at Nolan with a deep gaze, clearly waiting for an explanation.
"I donβt know either." Nolan shook his head. "Do you remember the time I went out alone? I actually went to a horse rental to travel to the capital of Nivara. On the way, I found an egg near a tree. At first, I thought it belonged to a wild animal. Who would have thought that when it hatched earlier, it turned out to be a dragon? It seems my luck is really quite good."
The answer sounded made up, and anyone who heard it would immediately tell it was a lie.
Even so, Cassiopeia and Draco didnβt call him out.
They werenβt sure how Nolan had obtained it, but one thing was certainβit involved some unexpected means.
βDonβt tell me he got it with the help of the Singularity of Chaos...β Cassiopeiaβs eyes widened.
Earlier, Sylvia had said she encountered the Singularity of Chaos and claimed that the white dragon had been killed by the cloaked figure.
However, Cassiopeia could confirm that it was she and Draco who had killed it.
Yet the scene before her made her doubt herself again.
In the end, Cassiopeia became lost in her own thoughts until her head began to ache.
"By the way, whatβs her name, Nolan? Can I hold her?" Sharon asked hopefully.
"Her name is Eira. Of course, go ahead."
Nolan didnβt refuse and was about to hand Eira to her, but the little dragon stubbornly refused to leave him.
"Moo~ Moo~" Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Nolan sadly.
Nolan stroked her head, gently calming her down.
"Donβt worry, sheβs not evil. Sheβs my older sister, so try to get along with her, okay?"
Eira lowered her head, then nodded weakly.
Sharon carefully picked her up, feeling her soft body, which contrasted sharply with her rough-looking skin.
"Woaa! Youβre so light, Eira!" Sharon giggled.
Eira still felt uncomfortable in Sharonβs arms, but she tried hard not to resist, occasionally glancing at Nolan with a dissatisfied look.
After that, Sharon took Eira to play, while Nolan, Cassiopeia, and Draco began discussing important matters.
"Your Highness, I want to discuss something important," Cassiopeia said seriously.
Nolanβs eyebrows rose slightly, but he said nothing and simply gave a small nod.
"You should already know about the Demon Emperorβs situation, right?"
Hearing the topic, Nolan felt a hint of confusion and replied, "I know. Heβs inside Cassianβs body and causing chaos, right? Whatβs wrong? Is there another problem?"
Cassiopeia nodded, her expression heavy. "A few days agoβthree days ago, to be exactβPrince Cassian, who is possessed by the Demon Emperor, destroyed a city on the empireβs border. Everyone died. Not a single soul survived. And thatβs only one of many incidents."
She took a deep breath before continuing. "On top of that, Prince Cassian has attacked cities in neighboring kingdoms. Even the Holy Empire of Valtanir suffered losses. One of their cities, Hieros City, lost half its population. If not for the intervention of the Singularity of Light, the entire city would have been wiped out."
Nolan narrowed his eyes, his expression grim.
He hadnβt expected the Demon Emperor Zerathosβs actions to escalate to such a terrifying extent.
Countless lives had been lost, and tensions among all parties were running highβenough to spark a war at any moment.
Nolan steadied his emotions and guessed, "Are they all blaming my father?"
Cassiopeia was taken aback, but she quickly regained her composure and gave a firm nod.
"Yes. Everyone is blaming Emperor Ragan, including Holy Emperor Dariel of the Holy Valtanir Empire. In recent days, the situation across the continent has become extremely tense. Many fear that this chaos will ignite a major war, with the Great Velmora Empire as the primary target."
If that happened, their empire would almost certainly be defeated.
That outcome wouldnβt be surprising, considering that six kingdoms had suffered losses from Cassianβs attacks on their cities.
Moreover, many still held deep resentment over the deaths of their diplomats and princes during the attack at the empireβs previous anniversary celebration.
Nolan fell silent for a moment before asking, "What steps has my father taken?"
"For now, His Majesty has instructed the soldiers and ministers to calm the people. He has also sent Prime Minister Roswell to negotiate with the rulers of each kingdom," Cassiopeia replied respectfully.
"Sent Roswell?" Nolan looked surprised, then chuckled softly. "I see."
He knew the old man well. If Roswell had been dispatched, it meant the situation was still within his control.
"I understand. Thank you for the information."
...
"Hahaha! So many lives, so much blood for me to consume! If this continues, my power will reach its peak in just a few months!" Demon Emperor Zerathos burst into loud laughter.
He looked ahead at a pile of bones, stacked high like a small mountain.
They were the remains of the humans he had killed. He had devoured their souls and lives until nothing was left.
As a result, his appearance had changed drastically. Cassian once had dark brown hair and fair skin, much like his mother.
But after Zerathos took over his body, everything was different.
His hair had turned blood-red, and his skin was pale, as though all the blood had been drained from it.
Even his once-handsome face had become fierce and terrifying.
"But this is still not enough. I want more," Zerathos muttered darkly.
His power had only recovered to around thirty percent, which was nowhere near enough to make him feel secure.
In his eyes, only after reaching one hundred percent could he act without restraint.
As for the Singularities, he didnβt care about them at all. They hadnβt appeared even while he was slaughtering countless people.
Not even the famed Singularity of Light had managed to catch him.
"Hehehe..." Zerathos grinned. "Which prey should I devour next?"
He slowly licked his upper lip, a chilling look in his eyes.
