The Hero Took Everything from Me, So I Partied with the Hero's Mother!-Chapter 366
Hero's Mother After – Chapter 150 Mel Side What Was Chosen
I stood in the hall with my hands folded, my face calm, yet my voice was sweet—too sweet, like honey that hides the sharp taste of medicine.
"So, Hera-san! I have a favor to ask?"
Hera raised an eyebrow. "A favor? What is it?"
I bowed slightly, my voice soft.
"Could you give me that fruit called Nectar?"
Hera's face changed at once. Her lips tightened, and her eyes narrowed.
"Haa~ I thought you would say that."
I smiled, not surprised.
I tilted my head, acting cheerful. "But you would give it to me, your sister-in-law, wouldn't you?"
"Still..." Hera looked unsure.
I leaned in just a little.
"Don't you think fighting between sisters is a waste? Serena-kun and I get along very well. If I become your ally, I could help you too, Hera-san."
"And if you don't?" Hera asked slowly.
"Oh, nothing!" I laughed lightly. "I won't do anything. I won't speak badly about you."
Hera didn't reply, but I didn't wait for permission.
"Well then! That's perfect. From now on, I'll be sure to praise the other wives when I talk to Serena-kun."
Hera frowned. "What do you mean by that?"
"It's simple," I said, still smiling. "I just won't mention you at all. I'll speak highly of the others, and your name won't come up."
"Are you threatening me?"
"Oh no, this isn't a threat!" My tone remained sweet. "But think about it. If someone has to choose between a kind person and a cold one, they'll always pick the kind one. Isn't that normal?"
"...Yes, I suppose so," Hera admitted quietly.
My smile faded a little, turning sad. "And thanks to you, I became an immortal goddess. But because of that, I lost something. I can't meet my old friends or my husband anymore. Don't you think that's sad?"
I looked up, eyes gentle. "Wouldn't the mother of the gods lend a hand to a lonely woman?"
The room was quiet for a long moment. Then Hera nodded, slowly.
"I understand. But know this—Nectar is far more rare and valuable than anything in this world. Still, I'll give you one. Just one. This is a special case."
"Yes?"
"There will not be a second time."
With that, Hera reached into a small case and handed me a single piece of glowing fruit.
I held it gently. "Thank you."
Hera looked away. "You're lucky I'm soft when it comes to family."
I bowed again, hiding my smile.

Later, I stood by a wide river with Lida.
The sky was soft and blue, the water moving slow and quiet. Lida sat with a fishing rod, his legs crossed, his eyes focused on the river's calm surface.
"If only one person could stay here, it should be you," I said.
Lida blinked. "What do you mean?"
"I thought about Zect," I said, watching the water, "but I don't feel anything anymore. Maria would've been his partner from the start."
I sat beside Lida, folding my legs under me. "You see, Lida, you were the one who leaned on Ceres the most. And I... I don't want to live forever alone."
I looked up at the sky. "Living a long time is hard. If I must keep walking through endless time, I'd rather have someone close by."
Lida smiled gently. "So that's why you wanted to go fishing with me."
"The time I have with you and the others is limited. I wanted to do something normal, something warm."
Lida said, "I'm glad. Ceres is the only friend who ever came fishing with me. It's good to have someone here."
"Then let's make a fire," I said. "We'll cook the fish we catch." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"Yeah. Thanks."
I reached into my bag. "Oh right! I brought something special. A rare fruit. Would you like to try it?"
Lida looked up, curious. "Really?"
"Yes. Here you go!"
Lida took the fruit and bit into it with a smile.
"Mmm... It's delicious."
"I'm happy to hear that," I said softly.
I looked at her quietly. Now, Lida was truly on our side.
