The Heiress Spoiled by Four Brothers and One Devilish CEO-Chapter 294 Old grudges
Luna had three passions in life: eating, swooning over beautiful women, and drooling over handsome men.
Satisfying her cravings for food and eye candy was easy—both were practically served to her on a silver platter. But when it came to beautiful women? That was uncharted territory for her.
Since she could remember, she’d never actually seen a real woman... unless you count female animals. She’d seen enough sows, bitches, and she-cats to fill a zoo.
So when Karl casually mentioned some stunning ladies living down the mountain, Luna’s excitement went through the roof.
She bounced over and shoved him lightly. "Karl, hurry up and take me! I seriously can’t wait another second!"
Karl sat up, slightly frowning. "What are you even planning to do if you actually see one?"
She grinned mischievously. "Snatch her up and help you score a wife, of course!"
Karl let out a helpless chuckle and flicked her forehead. "You’re so generous now, but watch—once I actually fall for someone, you’ll be crying your eyes out."
"Never gonna happen!" Luna waved a hand quickly. "Best case, we find three of them—we could totally start a mahjong table!"
Karl sighed. "If you’re this clueless, I’m worried any kids we have would end up the same."
She burst out laughing, eyes curving like little crescent moons, then dove into his arms. "As long as they’re like you, that’d be perfect!"
Karl hugged her close, lips gently curling into a smile.
Once they’d packed up, he led her down the mountain.
At the foot of the hill, Keith Martin was leaning on the car, waiting.
As soon as he saw them, he hurried over. "Boss! Finally found you!"
"You were held captive too?" Karl asked.
Keith sighed. "Pretty much the same deal. I got locked up in some random cave."
Luna’s eyes sparkled. "Us too! Total cave buddies!"Keith Martin sniffled. "I think I had it worse. The cave I was stuck in only had this tiny hole, about the size of an iPhone, to let in sunlight. My food came through that hole too. But the worst part wasn’t that—it was the crazy guy inside. I swear, I almost died of fright. During the day, he’d mutter to himself, kinda weird but not too scary. But once it got dark, he’d start yelling like crazy. I don’t even mind corpses, but ghosts? Nah, those freak me out! And this dude acted like he was possessed or something. Super creepy."
Karl frowned deeply and turned to Luna. "You’ve never heard of this guy?"
Luna thought for a bit, then shook her head. "Nope, I’ve never even heard of him. We can check it out when we get back."
"Aren’t we supposed to stay for three months?" Keith asked.
Karl shook his head. "That’s just a front. Mr. Ford never intended to let anyone go."
"Why not?"
"Old grudges. I’ll explain on the way."
Keith nodded, opened the car’s rear door for them, then walked around to the front and got into the driver’s seat. The car pulled out and headed down the highway.
Luna kept gawking at everything like a tourist who had never left her village. She kept turning to Karl, eyes wide. "Wait, where are all those beauties you mentioned? I don’t see any that look better than me!"
Karl’s mouth twitched. They were passing a village, and all the women around were aunties and grannies.
He rubbed his temples. "Wait till we hit Capitol City or Lindon City, okay?"
Everything outside thrilled Luna. It was like opening the door to a whole new world. She chatted non-stop, loud and cheerful, making Karl massage his forehead in exhaustion.
When they passed through Capitol City, Luna practically glued her face to the window. "Oh my god! Are these even real people? They’re too pretty! Karl, I like that one—no wait, I like that one better—"
"And what’s up with your obsession with all the ultra-skinny ones?" Karl asked, noticing that every "pretty" woman Luna pointed at was super slim.
Luna giggled. "’Cause skinny girls don’t eat much. That means I can have their share if I marry you!"
Keith glanced at her through the rearview mirror and laughed. "The missus is super bubbly—definitely adds to your vibe. You guys balance each other nicely."
Karl gave Keith a sideways look. "She’s not bubbly—she’s plain dumb."
But Keith seriously thought they made a great pair. Karl was always too serious, and someone with Luna’s energy really brought him to life—they kind of made the perfect match.
Finally, the car rolled up to the Lewis family estate in Lindon City. Once they stepped out, they saw all four Lewis brothers already waiting by the gates.
