The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 209 Planning for the Company_1
Li Qing’s words garnered strong agreement from Gong ge.
He glanced at Liang Zhongliang and others before speaking, "When those bastards see benefits, they can behave for a while. But the moment the benefits are out of sight, they immediately revert to their old slack and disorganized ways."
"We really need to establish some rules for them. Back in the days when we were just getting by, we did have some rules, but times have changed, and the old ways just won’t work with what we’re doing now."
Li Qing nodded, "That’s right, I have an idea. We should set up a company."
"A company?" Gong ge’s eyes lit up, "Hey, that’s a great idea. Then we’ll all follow the company’s rules strictly. Whoever dares to be slack or act on their own whim can get the hell out."
Li Qing raised his hand to interrupt Gong ge, "Gong ge, this isn’t something we can decide on our own. We need to ask for Lü Zong’s opinion."
After all, Gong ge and the others were Lü Zong’s people.
And, in fact, Li Qing was also working for Lü Zong, merely contributing ideas and strategies.
In order to stabilize the situation with the acquisition, they needed to spread their manpower further afield.
And that wouldn’t work without some rules. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Gong ge nodded, "Alright, let’s go to the restaurant now."
"Let’s go."
After sending Liang Zhongliang and the others off to continue their work in the towns and villages, Li Qing and Gong ge hurried to Lü Family Restaurant.
In the VIP booth on the fourth floor, Lü Zong in his suit and leather shoes was sitting in the same spot as last time.
However, this time he wasn’t drinking wine; he was drinking tea and enjoying the street view.
From his position, he could see the busiest street scene in the entire county town.
After hearing Li Qing’s idea, Lü Zong praised with joy, "Gong ge, you really should spend some time learning from Qingzi. Don’t always think about solving problems with your fists. You need to use your brain, some intelligence!"
Gong ge’s old face flushed with embarrassment.
"Face the problem, find a solution - that’s the true attitude of someone who wants to do big things," Lü Zong said, "Qingzi’s idea is very good. Your current work is similar to sales, which inherently lacks strict controls. Setting up a company and establishing some reward and punishment systems will be enough to stabilize the morale of the team."
Lü Zong’s words hit the nail on the head.
And this was precisely what Li Qing aimed to achieve by setting up the company.
"Qingzi, I will handle the formalities for establishing the company. Just leave your identification documents with me and focus on developing the reward and punishment system, setting up the framework first," Lü Zong instructed.
"Lü Zong, you’ve misunderstood," Li Qing hurriedly said, "The company can’t be in my name. I’m working for you. Putting the company in my name would be like taking over your nest."
"My idea is for you, Lü Zong, to set up another company, with Gong ge taking the lead, and I’ll continue with my previous work."
"Regarding the reward and punishment system, from what I’ve observed, there are two key points: everyone should have a basic salary for peace of mind. Secondly, those who work more should receive certain rewards to motivate everyone’s enthusiasm."
"I understand what you mean," Lü Zong said, looking at Li Qing with pride in his eyes.
"I must say, I haven’t misjudged you at all; you’ve thought things through very well."
"What you’ve proposed, in formal terms, would be a basic salary plus performance pay, which is very good."
As for the formalities, Li Qing really didn’t know.
Since his graduation, he had never really worked in any company.
He simply intended to secure loyalty and enhance efficiency in the work.
"Let’s do it this way," Lü Zong pondered for a moment before speaking, "The company can be registered in my name, but you will be the general manager. Let Gong ge be the deputy and your right-hand man. Everything else follows what you’ve just said."
"Yes, yes, yes, me taking the lead wouldn’t be suitable; I couldn’t handle it," Gong ge immediately added.
Li Qing shook his head, "Director Lü, I’d rather stay as a deputy, and I’ll continue to do what needs to be done."
Director Lü burst out laughing, "You really insist on doing that?"
Li Qing nodded.
It was clear that Director Lü wanted to cultivate Gong Ge, so he should show some understanding.
"Alright then, the general manager position will go to Gong Ge, and you’ll make the company decisions!" Director Lü said, "That’s settled!"
But Gong Ge seemed a bit unhappy, he said with a troubled face, "Director Lü, I’m afraid I really can’t handle it..."
"Follow Qingzi’s arrangements. Although he is the deputy, the decision-making power for the company lies with him," Director Lü said, "Alright, no more beating around the bush, you’re wasting Qingzi’s well-intentioned efforts here."
Gong Ge looked at Li Qing somewhat surprised.
Clearly, he did not understand the "well-intentioned efforts" Director Lü was talking about!
After finalizing the specifics, Li Qing left.
Under the blazing sun, the village was exceptionally tranquil at noon.
It was as if someone had pressed the pause button, and not even a hint of wind could be felt.
Li Qing sped along all the way and upon arriving home, he gulped down several mouthfuls of cool boiled water to quench the summer heat.
Muttering a few curses about the damn weather, Li Qing fanned himself and took a mat to lie down on the stone steps outside the main hall.
It was unbearably stuffy inside the house, which made him not want to stay even a moment longer.
"I saw you coming from a distance, you’re back quite early today!"
A seductive figure flashed in from the doorway.
Li Qing did a kip-up from the mat, "Sister-in-law, haven’t you guys had lunch yet?"
"Yue’er and I just got back from the fields. We were about to cook when we saw you returning," Han Mei said with a gentle smile, then suddenly asked, "Speaking of which, have you eaten yet? If you have, I’ll just make something for Yue’er and me."
"Not yet," Li Qing chuckled, "where’s Tian Yue’e?"
"She’s in the shed picking vegetables," Han Mei replied as she took an apron out of the kitchen, "Yue’er’s vegetable sheds, whether or not they sell for money, have at least provided us with a cheap source of food."
"We can’t eat that much. Sister-in-law, let me help you with that!" Li Qing dropped the fan and hopped off the steps, eagerly volunteering.
"I can do it myself," Han Mei said.
Li Qing had already deftly moved next to Han Mei and grabbed the apron strings.
Today, Han Mei was wearing a pair of light gray loose shorts that looked tidy and youthful.
However difficult the summer weather may be, women in the summer are definitely the most beautiful to behold.
Li Qing slowly tied the apron for Han Mei, his gaze lingering on her exposed waist, and he stealthily swallowed.
The slender waist, slightly damp with sweat, looked smooth and pale.
"Are you done?" Han Mei urged.
"Done, done," Li Qing quickly tied the strings and rested his hands on Han Mei’s supple waist.
"What’s with the sudden enthusiasm? Are you trying to take advantage of me?" Han Mei said, annoyed.
Li Qing chuckled, his intentions were indeed that simple.
