The Greece Antagonist-Chapter 1195 - 10: Tea Art Master Limited Time Online
Chapter 1195: Chapter 10: Tea Art Master Limited Time Online
Early the next morning.
Caesar reached the mountain summit, panting, and looked up at the majestic mansion before him, unable to suppress a silent curse in his heart.
Thousands of steps, with flying prohibited and a restriction that sealed divine power along the way, forcing him, as a guest, to rely on sheer physical strength to climb up, almost costing him half his life.
What kind of broken rule is this?
While muttering in his heart, Caesar’s thoughts inadvertently drifted back to last night.
Due to making a small fortune during the day through his keen eye, he was in an excellent mood at night, ready to go to bed and discuss philosophy and the art of making money with the God of Sleep.
Unexpectedly, the priest from the Pantheon suddenly paid a visit and handed him an invitation, saying that a big figure from the Claudius family wanted to see him this morning.
Currently, the ruler of the Roman Empire is Claudius I.
In Caesar’s opinion, the current Roman Emperor strives for harmony among all classes and takes a moderate path in governance. While no major faults can be found, he could hardly be called a great ruler, with his reign’s accomplishments being unremarkable, worthy only of the label "mediocre."
However, though Caesar doesn’t think highly of the current Roman Emperor, he must admit that the Claudius family’s power and influence far exceed that of his own declining Julius family.
Especially when it involves inviting him, the big figure seems to have a significant relationship with the Pantheon, easily having a priest act as a messenger to deliver the invitation.
The sheer magnitude of their power is evident.
If he could establish a connection with this legendary figure and gain their favor, whether to resolve debt issues or to make a grand mark in politics and the military, everything would be much easier.
Thus, Caesar naturally saw this summons as a tremendous opportunity and came to visit early in the morning.
Yet, unexpectedly, before entering the door, he got a harsh lesson.
Could it be that I’ve offended this important figure?
With a trace of doubt, Caesar cautiously knocked on the mansion’s door.
Three little girls with short red hair opened the door, gave him a curious glance, and asked:
"Are you Caesar, from the Julius family?"
"With all respect, yes, I am. I have come by invitation; here is my invitation card."
Caesar quickly nodded, grinning broadly as he presented the invitation, hardly daring to underestimate these three little beings.
Because those pointy ears were enough to prove they were not mere humans, but demigods or deities.
Caesar well knew that with his current status and position, he couldn’t afford to offend them.
"Looks like you’re the guest the teacher is waiting for."
"The teacher said once you arrive, just wait in the living room, and he’ll see you when he’s done."
"Don’t wander around."
The trio answered one after another.
Caesar nodded repeatedly, cautiously following their guidance as he walked into the living room.
The journey was uneventful, and even as soon as he sat down, a maid served him tea and snacks, causing him to doubt his earlier judgment.
Could it be that I overthought it?
However, just after he sipped the tea, a beautiful maid brought a silver tray right in front of his face and spoke with a smile:
"Cheng Hui, twenty Golden Zeus."
"?"
"That’s the tea fee. Please settle it."
"!"
Caesar was dumbfounded and nearly jumped out of his seat.
Charging me 20 Golden Zeus for a cup of tea? Are you kidding? That’s over a year’s living expenses for ten average households!
Moreover, aren’t I a guest? Why am I, who’s been invited, asked to pay?
Caesar suppressed his shock and carefully reminded:
"I have an invitation."
"The gentleman said he only invites guests but doesn’t provide a meal."
The maid continued smiling while pushing the tray a few inches closer.
Caesar’s face turned dark, and his mood turned gloomy.
He could confirm he must have offended this important figure.
And this invitation was evidently an act of revenge.
Thinking this, Caesar reached into his pocket and fumbled around, his face showing a slightly awkward yet polite smile:
"Apologies, I left in a hurry and didn’t bring much cash. How about I go back and get it?"
As he spoke, he swiftly got up from his chair with nimble movements and made a beeline for the door.
Since there’s no genuine feast, it’s better to slip away first.
However, before he took a step, the silver tray reappeared before him like a phantom:
"The gentleman said you can write an IOU."
The maid smiled warmly while two companions conveniently handed over paper and pen.
"That generous gentleman has thought of everything..."
Caesar’s tone carried a hint of tears as he picked up the quill, tremblingly writing out an IOU for 20 Golden Zeus, signing his name.
The maid picked up the paper, dried the ink, carefully checked it, then nodded satisfied: freēwēbnovel.com
"We won’t disturb you any longer, the gentleman will arrive shortly. Additionally, the pastries on the table are complimentary, please enjoy."
Watching the backs of the departing maids, Caesar’s heart bled.
His previous debts weren’t even settled, and now he’s somehow landed another one?
In his grief and anger, he couldn’t help but take out the invitation and slammed it on the table:
"What kind of host invites guests like this?"
"Are you talking about me?"
Accompanied by a deep voice, a silver-haired, purple-eyed slender figure walked into the living room, a playful smile on the upturned corners of his mouth.
Upon seeing the man’s face, Caesar immediately understood where this undeserved disaster originated, and with a mournful face said:
"So, you’re the big figure from the Claudius family. Had you mentioned it earlier, would I have dared to accept your small fee?"
