The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 164 I Don’t Mind!
Ling Feng hurried to explain, "That’s not what I meant!"
He paused for a moment, then continued, "Starting from now, I’ll keep my distance from those two!"
Li Shiyun was stunned!
She looked up at him seriously, "Really?"
"Of course, if you don’t like it, I’ll try to minimize my contact with them," said Ling Feng, nodding his head.
A trace of emotion flashed through her eyes, but then Li Shiyun suddenly said, "I was just asking, I don’t mind it."
"Hmm?"
Ling Feng was suddenly mystified!
"I seem to have not heard clearly, what did you say?"
Li Shiyun snuggled in his arms, "I said I don’t mind!"
"Why, why is that?" Ling Feng couldn’t help asking.
"No reason, don’t ask so many questions, you’ll understand in the future," Li Shiyun said softly.
Ling Feng suddenly felt a bit unreal, as if he was dreaming.
He was about to ask again when Li Shiyun suddenly raised her head and took the initiative to offer a kiss.
However, just at this moment, his phone suddenly rang.
"Ling Feng, how come you’re not at home?" Zhang Lan asked.
"You’ve come to the village?"
"Yes, thought you were at home. Didn’t you go to the county town?" Zhang Lan continued to ask.
"No, I’m in the village committee office. Wait for me for a bit," said Ling Feng.
After hanging up the phone, he looked at the person in his arms, "I need to go and see; it might be that the Luo Family is starting to mine."
"You go ahead, I don’t feel like going anywhere today, planning to lie down all day," Li Shiyun said lazily.
Ling Feng looked at her, "No way, it’s only morning, how come you suddenly became lazy?"
Li Shiyun coquettishly rolled her eyes at him, "Isn’t it all because of you! Now I can’t even get out of bed and walk, it’s really painful!"
"So that’s why, it’s really my fault!" Ling Feng realized, sheepishly laughing.
Leaning down, he kissed her forehead, reluctantly getting out of bed.
After leaving the village committee office and returning home, he saw Zhang Lan’s car parked by the roadside, and she was sitting on the large bluestone at the entrance, staring into the distant fields, lost in thought.
Ling Feng hurried over, "Sister Lan, why didn’t you give me a heads up before coming?"
"Thought you were home, so I didn’t notify, why have you gotten tanned?" asked Zhang Lan, surprised.
"Heh heh, been too busy these past days, got sunned," Ling Feng laughed.
Zhang Lan nodded, "The tan actually makes you look more spirited. What were you doing in the village committee office? A date with that beautiful village chief?" she teased.
"No, just discussing some matters," Ling Feng laughed.
"Then why do you look so guilty?" Zhang Lan said with suspicion.
Thinking he had acted normally, Ling Feng was embarrassed when she noticed something was off.
He could only laugh sheepishly, "No, no guilt here!"
Zhang Lan was initially unsure, but now, seeing his expression, she understood.
After a soft sigh, she continued, "Alright, I don’t want to meddle too much in your affairs, let’s talk about the real issue."
"What’s that?" Ling Feng asked.
"Mo Stone Mine is about to start mining, and the living support needs for the workers have to be addressed. Do you have any solutions?" Zhang Lan asked.
"That’s easy, get a three-wheeled vehicle, and make a run to the town daily for supplies," Ling Feng shrugged.
"They don’t have time, could you help me find someone to do this? We can pay a monthly salary," Zhang Lan suggested.
Ling Feng thought for a moment, "I definitely don’t have the time, and all the capable people in the village are already employed by me. But don’t worry, I’ll think of something!"
"Okay, then I’m leaving," said Zhang Lan, nodding.
"Don’t be in such a hurry, won’t you come in and sit for a while?" Ling Feng asked.
Glancing back at him, Zhang Lan shook her head, "No, I still need to check on the mountain; there are a dozen people not settled yet."
"Why take so much on yourself? Is the Mo Stone Mine that important?" Ling Feng asked curiously.
By all accounts, given Zhang Lan’s status, she really shouldn’t need to personally supervise the work.
Zhang Lan nodded, "It’s very important and can’t afford any mistakes."
Ling Feng grew more curious, "Why?"
"This, I cannot tell you now; maybe another time. I’m leaving," Zhang Lan seemed hesitant, pursed her lips, and drove off.
Ling Feng watched as her car headed up the mountain, and, feeling resigned, went back into the house.
It wasn’t long before he came out again, as Li Shiyun didn’t want to go out today, which meant he had to personally check on the various work sites.
Actually, there wasn’t much need to check, because everything was running smoothly, each site had someone responsible, and he didn’t need to worry.
After making a round, Ling Feng finally returned to the breeding farm.
New rooms were built in the extended area, designated for workers to rest and eat. Since it wasn’t noon yet, it was fairly empty.
Ling Feng was here to find Li Yumei who was in charge of cooking here, as she couldn’t do other tasks because of Ya Ya.
He pushed the door open, found Li Yumei busy picking vegetables, and Ya Ya sat quietly on the ground playing with toys.
Seeing Ling Feng enter, she immediately got up and toddled over to him.
Ling Feng picked up the little girl, lifting her high, making her giggle with laughter.
"Ling Feng, what brings you here?" Li Yumei asked with a smile, seeing the elder and the younger one enjoying themselves.
"Nothing much, just checking to see if you’re getting along here," Ling Feng said.
Li Yumei’s heart warmed, "It’s good, not tiring. It’s just meals for about a dozen people."
"There are people starting mining up in the mountain, so I was thinking, when you go to town to buy vegetables, you could also take care of their portion, or prepare it here and deliver it to them," Ling Feng suggested.
"Sure, no problem," Li Yumei nodded.
"Mhm, they will pay you a separate salary for this," Ling Feng mentioned.
Li Yumei was startled, "This, how is that proper? You’re already paying me, can I really take another salary?"
"It’s fine, don’t miss out on the Luo Family’s money; just take it!" Ling Feng grinned.
"Well, I’ll give it a try, and if it gets too busy, we’ll see," Li Yumei nodded.
"Don’t overwork yourself," Ling Feng advised.
After resolving this matter, he continued, "Oh yes, you have the number of Xun Qianqian who came to my place last time, right?"
Li Yumei paused, "Yes, why, are you looking for her?"
"Mhm, I need to go to North Mountain Township tomorrow and wanted to find a guide," Ling Feng affirmed.
