The Golem Mage-Chapter 285: Jungle Battle Part 5
This time, Astrid was determined to uncover the reasons why they always seemed to be one step behind the culprit who kept targeting their group by knocking out the mages.
Aware that they might have to make another move to confront this group of Mages , Astrid insisted that they refrain from splitting up.

Instead, he believed it was crucial to fully utilize the divination Mage’s abilities, so they don’t fall for any scheme of the mages again.
The Divination Mage had been the only one who consistently managed to locate or track down their elusive attacker in the darkness.
And Astrid seems to have recognized the significance of his abilities which he never bothered with before.
Kethra, in particular, was eager to capture Alec and uncover all the secrets he held.
However, he couldn’t help but grumble in frustration as he believed Astrid was wasting valuable time that could be spent in locating the sdete of Mages that was led by Alec.
But Astrid’s refusal to listen to Kethra’s ideas only fueled his belief that Astrid’s stubbornness stemmed from a desire to protect his own team and uphold his pride for losing two mages in battle so fast that they had to place them somewhere first.
and Kethra felt, It was this refusal to heed his suggestions that had ultimately led them to the challenging situation they found themselves in now.
"The signals have shown Again, and I’ve noticed the main aura heading towards the exit of the orcish forest,"
The Divination Mage reported, still in the midst of casting his innate spells to pinpoint Alec’s and his golems’ location.
"We have to stop them," Kethra exclaimed, frustration evident in his voice.
"If they manage to escapes the forest, it’ll be nearly impossible to catch them again, While I’m not entirely certain of there leader’s identity, I can tell he has some kind of background, given the things he has on him, even as a Tier 2 mage."
Kethra couldn’t bear the thought of letting Alec get away. Continue your adventure at novelbuddy
He had already crossed paths with him and had observed Alec’s abnormal abilities.
And The fact that Alec had managed to fight him to a draw, even almost killing him had made him realised that it would mean Alec might have no problems killing him now
With his Mana restored, since he was still unaware that Alec have worn the Crown again after all no one would have guess that alec would do that, so he knows facing Alec alone would pose too much of a challenge.
Though Kethra would have preferred a more peaceful resolution to the situation, but he found himself caught up in the momentum of trying to capture Alec.
And It was as though he had climbed onto the back of a tiger, and now he could only succeed or risk falling off.
He couldn’t help but recognize that his own greed had driven him to this point.
" have been able to find a link, all we have to do is have someone that is good with stealth hold them off till we are all able to get them all, if not they might escape again "
"But who would do it?, We don’t have any stealth fighters among us!" Astrid questioned the Divination Mage, instantly dismissing his suggestion as nonsensical.
However, the Divination Mage merely smirked and turned to lock eyes with Kethra.
"But we already do now, Who better than Kethra to prevent their escape?, It’s clear they have a personal Grudge against him, and I’m willing to bet that the orchestrator behind all of this wouldn’t hesitate to wanting to eliminate Kethra, considering he eliminated those who betrayed with Kethra."
The Divination Mage’s matter-of-fact expression displayed his confidence in his plans, but Kethra appeared dazed, still processing the weight of the decision being placed upon him.
"You’re right," Astrid finally responded,
" Looking at it from another angle, They’re cautious, and if we want to catch them all in one fell swoop, this is our only chance as they would likely engage with you than any other Mage , Don’t worry though, we’ll support you from behind."
"No, we won’t be right behind you," The Divination Mage countered.
"It’s become evident that someone in their group possesses the ability to use divination spells or has a unique talent for locating us."
" However, it seems their range is limited. So, all we need to do is maintain a safe distance and only intervene when they initiate a fight."
"And if Kethra uses his more big moves," the Divination Mage added,
"we’ll be able to discern there true whereabouts, when they start fighting." The group collectively agreed as they all felt that was the right plan of action.
Although Kethra didn’t particularly like the way things were unfolding, as it seemed he was being given orders, but even he knew he had to proceed that way for the time being.
His revenge and the retrieval of the power stones relied heavily on this final act.
otherwise, it would all be lost, Alec was already on the brink of escaping the forest.
--
After some time, just a few meters away from the exit of the Orcish forest, the Legion halted in their tracks, causing Alec to wonder what had occurred.
"Master, there’s someone approaching us, and the signal feels familiar, If I had to guess, I’d say it’s Kethra," Legion reported.
"Oh, has he finally entered the 100-meter range?" Alec asked, surprised that they had finally found another mage after a long and seemingly fruitless search.
And Luck seemed to be on their side as the mage they had located was indeed Kethra, that Alec wanted to get rid of the most .
"No, master, he’s already about 50 meters away, We should be able to see him any moment from now," Legion replied.
"What? How is that possible?, I thought you were able to detect the signal of anyone within a 100-meter range, How did Kethra get this close without you noticing?" Alec inquired, puzzled.
"I believe he must have been in some type of stealth mode, My detection is strongest within the first 50 meters, and the remaining 50 can only detect movements and heat maps of mages. If a skilled assassin Mage were to approach, they could easily bypass the initial 50 meters without triggering any warnings in my detention, That’s likely what happened here."
"He must have been in hiding, but the moment he stepped into the last fifty meters, I got his heat map," Legion explained, causing Alec to delve into deep thought.
As He realized that even though Legion was skilled, his detection was not flawless.
However, his concern wasn’t focused on Legion’s inability to detect Kethra in time.
What worried him was the possibility of someone stronger than Kethra concealing their aura and coming for him, in future.
Legion wouldn’t be able to detect it in time, which could result in unfortunate accidents or even his demise.
"Boss, what should we do? Should we wait and capture him now, eliminating any future obstacles?" Titan, who had been silent all this while, finally chimed in.
However, Legion had a different perspective on the matter.
"I don’t think we should continue staying here, He must have located your aura and is swiftly approaching."
" We should leave immediately, master. I don’t believe that Kethra would attempt to come after you alone. He’s much too cunning for that, and leaving now will prevent us from falling into any traps he might have set," Legion advised.
"Don’t worry about running, as you won’t be able to go anywhere," Kethra said confidently as he emerged from the bush.
As He held his sword tightly and channeled his mana, causing the wind around him to transform into small, razor-sharp blades.
As he extended his hands towards the blades, a sense of apprehension washed over him.
He hoped that he could stall long enough for Astrid and his divination mage’s plan to work, sensing a chilling aura permeating the air, after being stared at by nine eyes.
The intensity of the nine pairs of eyes, particularly Alec’s, seemed to radiate a fiery determination as they stared at him.
"Oh, I think you’re right, Legion. This is a trap. But you know what? I’m tired of running, All we have to do is eliminate him before his newfound companions arrive," Alec declared, gripping the hilt of his weapons.
Before he could draw it, a small portal looking like a door in rectangular shape materialized near Kethra.
At first, Alec believed it was a part of Kethra’s plan, but when he noticed Kethra’s perplexed expression, he realized that things were not as straightforward as they seemed.
"I’m afraid I can’t let you do that, As a matter of fact, right here, right now, I declare you dead for having the audacity to incapacitate two of my mages," Kethra uttered sternly.
As Astrid emerged from the collapsing space gate, he turned his gaze towards Kethra, whose face displayed a mixture of shock and apprehension.
"Don’t worry," Astrid assured him,
" The others are still on their way, Unfortunately, my space gate Artifact can only transport one person at a time, and I had to expend a significant amount of reserve Mana i had saved to teleport to the mark I left on you."
" Trust me, I was eager to confront whoever is responsible for this, but I never expected that it was just one person controlling Golems, Now, shall we begin?"
Astrid said as his hand crackled with electricity as a ring of lightning formed a long chain, that connecting to the four rings on his Right hand.
