The God Virus-Volume 2 - 48 He Said 'Love'
"Come in," Mr. Martin said, then someone opened the door and entered.
The person who entered was a middle-aged man who was wearing a butler suit. He was the butler of the house of Martin.
"Master Martin, Detective Lock has come and he's asking for a meeting with master, he says it's urgent and it might be of some help to a problem the company's facing." The butler said.
"Oh, then tell him to come in." Mr. Martin's eyes shone a little of what solution or help Detective Lock could offer, even though he wasn't that hopeful as this matter was too hard to deal with even for a detective like John Lock, nevertheless, he was a little expectant of what he's going to tell him.
He wasn't surprised that Detective Lock was aware of the problem he was facing, as things like this had happened before where Detective lock became aware of before even he had mentioned it.
Mr. Martinthen got up from his study desk as he went and sat in one of the two couches that were standing against each other.
A minute later Detective Lock finally entered saying "Hello, sir."
The Butler, who had entered with John, leading him here, went beside the master of the house and just stayed behind Mr. Martin without saying anything, while Detective Lock sat on the opposite couch.
"John, why do you never listen, just call me uncle at least." Mr. Martin said while pretending to have a grim face.
"Excuse me, sir, I'm more comfortable with sir or Mr. Martin." Detective Lock answered with the same cold sounding voice he always used.
"Haha, you never drop that face and tone of yours, do you now John? Okay, how have you been? And what have you been up to lately?" Mr. Martin said while laughing.
"Thank you, I've been doing quite well, and lately, I've been investigating the 'Ghost Theft', actually that's also what I want to talk to you about Mr. Martin." Detective Lock said.
"Oh, I thought you were gonna talk about a solution to my problem, wasn't that what you said you wanted to talk to me about?" Mr. Martin said and his voice had changed a little like he was a little upset with Detective Lock for bothering him while he was facing such a big problem.
"Yes sir, actually that's truly why I'm here, I'm here to tell you something that might help in dealing with your problem, though it might not help at all." He said looking at Mr. Martin.
"Is that so? Then please tell me more about it." Me. Martin said while waiting for him to continue.
"So, I was investigating the Ghost Theft and tried to look for suspects everywhere, but there was not even the slightest of evidence left anywhere, it's like there was no evidence there to begin with." Detective Lock said.
"And?"
"And so, I decided to think completely outside the box, I thought, maybe... just maybe the theft that happened was because the technology or the programme used by the thief was much much more advanced than ours, and thus we can't understand how it happened."
"And when I started thinking like this, immediately another company with the same description came to my mind..." Detective Lock stopped talking at this point as he paused and looked at Mr. Martin.
Me. Martin's eyes were shining with excitement at this point as he said with a louder tone "THE VIRUS INDUSTRIES!"
How could he not understand where he was getting at, at this point, when Detective Lock had said before, that the thing he wanted to say might be of some help to his problem.
And he had been thinking about that company and how to deal with them for days, so how could he not know what was meant when Detective Lock said 'Much much more advanced'.
"Yes, sir. That's the only place my thought goes to, and probably the only conclusion we could get at thinking like this." Detective Lock confirmed.
"But, that's everything I can provide you with sir, as there is no evidence saying that they have done it, and I believe there won't be such a thing too, and that's why I said it 'might' be of help." Detective Lock concluded at this point.
After a little silence and thought Mr. Martin started laughing as he said. "Hahaha, that's more than enough John, honestly common people are more stupid than you think, and they can be easily manipulated into believing things, even if there is no evidence whatsoever, you just need to plant a seed there and it will grow by itself... hahaha, this is good."
"Well, that's all I wanted to say, sir, as long as it helps, then I'm relieved." Detective Lock responded.
"If there is nothing else... I shall take my leave..." Detective Lock said wanting to go, now that he was done with the purpose he had come here.
"No way, you have to stay and at least eat dinner with the uncle, John, I can't just send you away after you've delivered me with such wonderful news. I'll order the Chef to make whatever you want." Mr. Martin said with a happy.
"You know my house's chef is one of the best chefs in the world, and he is an expert in making lots of foods around the world, from almost every culture, so you can tell him what you want with ease." Mr. Martin said with a smile on his face.
Knowing he probably won't let him leave before he did eat something, Detective Lock decided to stay until he is finished eating.
"Go tell the chef to come." without looking behind he just said the word as the butler started moving out of the study after saying, "Yes, Master Martin."
Sometime later an old man entered the room after the butler had opened it for him, together they entered the room as the butler went and stayed standing behind Mr. Martin, the chef stayed standing in a place where both Mr. Martin and Detective Lock could look at him easily.
"What do you want me to cook Boss?" The chef said with an old kind smile on his face.
"Tell him what you want John." Mr. Martin offered.
"Well, actually, there is something I recently came to like... actually love..." Detective Lock said.
"Ohh... is that so, what could make this cold detective of ours use the word 'Love' for, now I'm really intrigued too! Tell us, what is it?" Mr. Martin said while making a surprised face.
With the same poker face and cold tone he usually uses, Detective Lock answered, "It's..... Meatbun."
