The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 205: Arya’s determination
***Thank You Juniper for your continued support. Even though the Chapters are slow to update. Sorry I’m only able to keep up with one or two a week now that I’m working again***
Arya had spent weeks developing techniques to handle this special stone.
After The Crone passed and the new one was selected, The Crone had a vision of the past. She had seen a stone, one not made of this world. And Arya had been assigned to find the stone after returning from the vampires.
For weeks she scoured all corners of the world in search on a stone that fit that distraction. She finally stumbled on a falling star. Remnants of an old and ancient comet laid buried beneath the earth, tucked safely inside a volcano.
Ever since she found the stone she’s been holed up in her workshop and study investigating and discovering everything she could about the stone. How did the witches prior use this stone?
It was proving to be the most difficult thing to decipher. She’s never worked so hard on something. Not once in her entire life.
This fallen star was proving more difficult than she anticipated. But still she didn’t give up.
A knocking on the door disturbed her focus.
"Hello?" She growled annoyed with the disturbance.
"UM... Arya... There’s... A... You have a visitor, you’re being summoned.
’Who would summon me knowing I’m busy?’ Arya grumbled to herself before leaving her space and following the other witch to the main seating hall.
Standing just outside the great hall was a tall beautiful black dragon.
Arya knew instantly who it was.
Lilith the Queen of the Damned.
’What was she doing here?’ Arya wondered.
’Is everything okay?’ she questioned nervously.
In a tornado of wind, the dragon transformed into a beautiful naked woman. Clothing began materializing over her skin, fiber by fiber.
"Hello, Arya. It’s been awhile." Lilith walked up with the power of a queen and grace of a goddess, she carried herself in a manner that made her look like she owned the world. The wind itself would bend to her will.
"Yeah, Lilith what are you doing here? Is everything okay with everyone?" Arya asked with a little more urgency than she meant.
"You’ve been missing for some time now, I should be asking you that question." Lilith narrowed her brows and crossed her arms. "To disappear and be unreachable in such dire times, tsk tsk." Lilith wagged her finger at Arya.
"I’ve been busy. Come let me show you what I’ve been working on. And why I’ve been so distracted. Maybe a pair of fresh eyes can help me crack the code on this thing." Arya waved for Lilith to follow her.
Arya looked around and realized how shocked her whole coven was about seeing a real life dragon in their mitts.
Looks of awe, fear and devotion crossed so many different faces. She frowned inwardly; everyone was going to bombard her with questions after Lilith left.
Arya opened the door for Lilith.
Her eyes practically popped out of her head when she saw Arya’s workspace, potions, books and exotic herbs lined shelves on her wall. Papers were scattered all over the floor, books in stacks in corners. She had a cot made on the ground near her desk, a clear indicator of her basically living in this room with whatever she’s been working on.
"Don’t get out much lately anymore, do you?" Lilith asked looking around.
"No, not since I was assigned a mission of turning a fallen star in too a containment stone. Its properties are completely different from all the things here on her planet. I’ve been struggling to find any compatible materials for it. The meteorite deteriorates anything it comes in contact with when I try and merge it." Arya confessed her frustration and desperation on full display now.
Lilith was still gaining her memories back and sorting through them. She searched trying to find more information on it from the past, but she was coming up blank.
Lilith then got an idea "Have you tried blood?"
"Why would I try blood?" Arya raised a questioning eyebrow.
"Because vampires feed on blood and energy. And it’s his blood that made me. Made vampires. And I can’t help but wonder if blood is the key to trapping him."
Arya thought about what she said and how it made sense. Vampires drank blood, Ezelreth created vampires with his blood.
"I think I’d need some of his blood to even test it. But that’s impossible, since he doesn’t have a legitimate body." Arya rambled.
"What about his sons? Could that work?" Lilith asked.
"That’s right! Vlad has his blood pumping through his veins too. If any blood would have the potency needed, it would be Vlad’s." Arya nearly shouted with excitement. Uncovering the possibility of this working.
"I think this is going to work." Arya explained excitedly.
"I think it will. I will bring this news back to the vampires and get their blood for testing. I’ll contact Vincent my youngest for his blood as well, can’t hurt to see if his blood is more or less his fathers." Lilith said "They’re twins, but they aren’t identical, so their blood could be different."
Lilith thought about her youngest. He was the most distant of her children, a recluse, he had one wife, one love, and when she died from old age, he never got over her. He never moved on, fell in love again. It’s why Vlad was able to take on so many wives. His brother never claimed any more maidens. So, with each new one born, she was groomed to be a perfect royal mother from birth.
Their birth rates dropped, less and less purebreds were being born.
Their existence declined.
The amount of pureblooded vampires that existed in the world had always been slim. Ezelreth had made more women similar to Lilith in an attempt to replicate what he had with her, giving the world more pureblooded vampires.
But after Ezelreth’s defeat and the decline in the birth of maidens, and most having died over the years because of The Great Extermination many perished.
Vladimir and Vincent were the closet to Ezelreth’s blood they’d find, she was sure of it.
"Bring me the samples as soon as possible." Arya urged.
Lilith nodded in understanding.
Leaving Lilith transformed back into a giant black dragon, leaving the coven in awe yet again.
When Lilith arrived back at the capital, she stormed in with the information she had updating them on Arya’s work and discovery.
"I need samples to bring to her. Vlad give me vials of your blood. I have to go and see your brother." Lilith’s words surprised everyone at the table.
It had been a long time since anyone had brought up Vincent.
"Mother, do you even know where he is?" Vlad asked, he was a little concerned it had been centuries since he heard from his brother. His only contact has been through his twin niece and nephew. And they barely spoke to him. Viktoria was his pride and joy, but still ever since their mother’s death he has locked himself away in solitude.
"Yes. And it’s time he comes out of his cave and is a part of this war. He doesn’t get to sit this one out because his wife died 150 years ago." Lilith folded her arms and stated firmly.
"You should bring Viktoria, you know how he is with her." Vlad offering his input.
"That’s a good idea." Lilith pulled out her phone and started dialing Viktoria.
"When did you start using a cell phone?" Oliver questioned her in surprise.
Lilith frowned "When it became easier to stay in contact with my great granddaughter."
"Wow, I would be offended, but I expect nothing less of Mammy." Oliver teased.
"I’ll light you on fire boy, watch yourself." Lilith growled.
The room erupted in snickers and sneers.
"Fine, fine, sorry... Mammy." Oliver poked once more at Lilith. She snapped her fingers and fire started dancing in her palms.
"Sorry grandmother." Oliver through his hands up in surrender.
"I’ll be back." Lilith left the room dialing Viktoria.
"Hello." Viktoria answered.
"Come with me to see your father."
