The Forgotten Slayer-Chapter 28: Praised by the Demonic Army
Chapter 28 - Praised by the Demonic Army
'Shit.'
Clyde couldn't gauge his strength in comparison to the General, but he thought it wouldn't be easy.
The General was annoyed at Clyde's hesitation.
"I guess I will come to you."
Each step the giant took made the ground tremble. The wave of enemies that was behind him were soon blocked off as soldiers took his place on the front line.
It seemed that no creature was bothering to help the General deal with Clyde either, knowing that they could lose their life.
They were so close that the General could crush Clyde beneath his foot. He was a bald headed beast with thick eyebrows. Looking down at Clyde with anticipation, a large grin appeared on his face.
"Was he your friend? He tasted really good, I guess I'll eat you too."
Clyde didn't show any emotion in his face, not that he felt any from the death of Brick.
"I actually just met him, but your cruelty has let me know what must be done."
Since he couldn't afford to exhaust everything in this fight, he decided to test the waters.
The spear on the left came down to where Clyde was standing. As he jumped out of the way, the second spear was already on him. Unfortunately for the General, Clyde's size was a big advantage.
The General misjudged the positioning of Clyde, likely underestimating his jump strength. This caused the second spear to go just under Clyde. Following the attack, Clyde landed on the second spear and began to run on it.
As he ran, the top arms came swinging from both directions-one was coming at Clyde's head, the other at his body.
'Lets thread the needle.'
The swords flying at him were not fast enough that he couldn't naturally dodge them. Because of that, Clyde was able to just speed up his perception. With the world around him moving in slow motion, he began to twist his body according to the pathing of the swords.
Whenever he was in a good position, the pressure on his mind lifted, and the blades flew over and between him.
The General was baffled at Clyde's swift movements, and Clyde was ready to capitalize. Landing back on the spear, he continued forward. As he was approaching the hand grasping onto the spear, Clyde jumped again, landing on the wrist of the General.
When his feet left the weapon, he sent a surge of energy into it, electrocuting the wielder.
All of the General's weapons hit the ground as Clyde continued to climb on him. The top sided arms raised into the air, while the bottom ones went down. Clyde enhanced his legs for another long jump, this time he was aiming for the armpit hair of the upper arm.
Using the hair like a rope, he swung himself onto the General's upper shoulder.
The General was roaring madly as this was happening. Clyde didn't feel too bad because he had to deal with that awful smell.
As the General turned his head to his shoulder, he saw Clyde right before his eye. It would be the last thing he ever saw with that eye. Clyde drove his fist into the General's right eyeball causing sparks to fly out.
The giant began to fall on its back, so Clyde latched onto eye causing more pain.
Upon hitting the ground, Clyde did not stop. Jumping off of one eye and onto the other, Clyde repeated the same attack. The attention of the entire battlefield was now on this fight.
It was as if the entire atmosphere of the battle changed completely. Creatures next to Clyde started to run away, while the new energetic army chased them.
'That wasn't so bad either. I've grown far stronger than I thought.'
Soon, Clyde saw a familiar face.
The same Minotaur that picked him up when he got here came up to him. He was unmistakable because one of his horns was missing.
"Youngblood! It was you who had slain Mobius! We must celebrate."
The last statement was more of a command than a suggestion. He lowered his hand down to Clyde, beckoning him to climb on.
'I've came this far.'
As he climbed on, the beast move his hand to his shoulder so Clyde could sit up there. By now, other creatures that were chasing off the enemy soldiers were returning, all chanting the same thing.
"Victory! Victory! Victory!"
The Minotaur Clyde was riding also joined in. Clyde decided it was best to lay low instead of joining in.
Clyde was being brought back into the woods with the army. As they were traveling, the Minotaur started to sing Clyde's praises.
"I'm telling you Reginald, he fell from heaven and obliterated the enemy! Then I saw him pluck the eyeballs out of General Mobius."

The tales were starting to get exaggerated and out of hand, but Clyde didn't mind.
The large blob of jelly laughed at the Minotaurs remark. Clyde continued to watch as more and more creatures were surrounded them. Pretty soon the army began to chant something different than before.
"Youngblood! Youngblood! Youngblood!"
As the praising quieted down, the Minotaur he was riding on finally asked him a question.
"I almost forgot to ask! What clan are you from?"
The surrounding beast and human like monsters all went quite, anticipating an answer. Since Clyde obviously wasn't apart of Hell, he didn't belong to a clan here. Remembering Brick's reaction to him being from the human realm, an idea appeared in Clyde's head.
Getting off his feet and standing up, Clyde made a profound statement.
"I am Clyde, the clan I am apart of is none other than my own. It's called the House of Fracture."
After listening, the creatures began to laugh, howl, or growl. After a minute, they began to shout.
"Youngblood isn't apart of a clan!"
"He should join my clan!"
"If he really did start his own, I might join it!"
The voices started to drown each other out until the Minotaur silenced them with a cackle.
"Calm down everyone, perhaps Youngblood is a private individual, or maybe he really does have his own clan. Either way he should be rewarded, his help saved us a lot of time. I think the queen would want to see him."
'The queen?'
