67: Chapter 13 Hong Jun Three Lectures (Part 1)
In Zixiao Palace, everything remains as it was a thousand years ago, with only a change of many new faces among its guests.
Hong Jun still sits loosely on the cushion, his eyes half-closed, seemingly unchanged forever.
“Master!” (Great Master, Ancestral Teacher)
A group of people bowed deeply in respect.
“You may dispense with the formalities!” Hong Jun lifted his right hand lightly, and an invisible force emanated from his hand.
Its nature seemed gentle yet devoid of all worldly traces.
“The formless actions of a Saint stem from virtue, embodying both aspects.
Only upon cutting the Three Corpses can one initially be called a Saint…”
“The Great Dao is vast and can be veered left or right.
A single Yang gives rise to all things and rules them, and in reverting to this one can be called a Saint!
The Dao of the Saint, where the Three Corpses may converge…”
In this sermon, Hong Jun taught about the Dao of the Saint, relevant to Quasi-Saints, sub-saints, and Saints alike.
This enthralled the likes of The Three Pure Ones, Zhen Yuanzi, Di Jun, and other top beings of Primordial, as if they were mesmerized or lost in a dream.
“Three thousand years have passed, and my sermon comes to a pause.
Yet the majesty of the Heavenly Dao dictates that I should have four disciples under my guidance!” Hong Jun spoke softly, slightly lifting his gaze.
Upon hearing this, a tremor ran through everyone present, and they all fixed their gaze upon Hong Jun.
“Laozi embodies the quiet and inactive, suitable to be my first disciple in the Xuan Sect!
Here is the Innate Treasure, the Tai Chi Diagram, able to suppress Qi Fortune!
I shall bestow it upon you!” As Hong Jun spoke, an ancient-looking scroll suddenly appeared in his hand, which he tossed to Laozi.
Though Laozi had long been a disciple of Hong Jun, such solemnity moved him inexplicably.
Understanding that Hong Jun was establishing his authority he bowed deeply and said, “Disciple Laozi pays respects to Master, thankful for your gracious gift!”
Laozi nodded, then took out Pangu Banner and looked towards Primordial Venerable.
“Primordial is composed and steady, fitting to be my second disciple!
This is the Innate Treasure Pangu Banner, capable of suppressing Qi Fortune!
I bestow it upon you!”
Primordial Venerable promptly bowed deeply and said, “Disciple Primordial pays respects to Master, thankful for your gracious gift!”
Hong Jun also nodded slightly, then turned towards Tongtian and said, “Tongtian is headstrong and should be my third disciple!” Then, revealing four shimmering small swords and a small scroll in his hands, he continued, “These are the Four Immortal Slaying Swords and the Extermination Immortal Array Map.
Although these treasures were slightly damaged during the fight with Luo Hou, they remain Innate Treasures.
They cannot suppress Qi Fortune, but they are tools of slaying!
These two treasures combined can set up the Slaying Immortal Sword Formation, which is unbreakable by anyone but the Four Saints!
Take them and nurture them well.
Do not rush into conflicts lightly!”
The combative Tongtian, with a flash of excitement in his eyes, bowed deeply and said, “Disciple Tongtian pays respects to Master, thankful for your gracious gift!”
Hong Jun smiled imperceptibly and turned his head towards Nuwa, saying, “Nuwa is pure by nature, suitable to be the last disciple under my sect.
Here are the Innate Treasures, the Mountain and River Map, and the Red Embroidery Ball, I bestow them upon you!”
Nuwa showed a joyful expression and bowed gracefully, saying, “Disciple Nuwa pays respects to Master, thankful for your gracious gift!”
Hong Jun then ceased speaking.
Zhunti, desperate, turned and bowed down, tears streaming as he pleaded, “Merciful teacher, my brother and I have traveled from afar, overcoming myriad difficulties and dangers, nearly losing our lives.
We only hope to become disciples under you.
Please, teacher, show mercy and accept us both!”
The guests in Zixiao Palace observing Zhunti’s behavior displayed looks of disdain, watching the scene with cold eyes.
“Ah!” Hong Jun sighed lightly and said, “Very well!
You two are indeed determined.
I shall take you as registered disciples!” As he spoke, a dazzling tree branch and a shimmering vajra pestle appeared in his hand, which he handed to Zhunti and Jieyin.
He continued, “These are the Innate Treasure Seven Treasures Miao Tree and Vajra Pestle, I bestow them upon you both!”
Jieyin and Zhunti accepted the two treasures, both exclaimed in unison, “Disciples Jieyin and Zhunti pay respects to Master, thankful for your gracious gifts!”
Upon seeing this, everyone’s jaw dropped.
They all followed Zhunti’s example, but Hong Jun remained silent with closed eyes, despite the earnest pleas from the crowd.
After a while, calm was restored inside the palace.
Hong Jun then spoke, “What doubts do you all have?
Speak freely!”
Houtu stepped forward upon hearing this and prostrated himself, asking, “I dare to ask Master, our Witch Tribe has no Primordial Spirits.
What is our path forward?”
Hong Jun glanced at Li Qingming, who was looking around restlessly, and said to Houtu, “I, too, cannot perceive your future path.
All I can tell my fellow Daoist is: when Heavenly Dao unleashes its killing intent, beneath the Great Dao there is always a sliver of hope for survival!”
Houtu nodded somewhat desolately and stepped back.
Li Qingming watched all this, his eyes gleaming with an ineffable thoughtfulness.
Seeing Houtu step back, Laozi hurriedly prostrated and asked, “I dare to ask Master, is there a method to attain Dao?”
Upon hearing Laozi’s words, the guests in Zixiao Palace all showed signs of excitement and once again all eyes turned towards Hong Jun.
Hong Jun pondered for a moment and said, “There are three thousand paths in the Great Dao, each one can lead to the attainment of the Primordial Chaos.
Summed up, there are three methods to prove the Dao.
The first is to prove the Dao through force.
This is done by using one’s profound mana and realm to forcefully break the fetters of Heavenly Dao and achieve sainthood in the flesh, proving the Dao of Primordial Chaos.
This method is the most difficult, but the mana gained is the strongest; the second is to prove the Dao by Cutting Three Corpses.
This method involves cutting the corpses of good, evil, and the self, and when completion is achieved, the three are reunited.
Once the Three Corpses unite, the Dao naturally forms.
This method is moderately easy, with lesser mana; the third is to prove the Dao through Merit.
This involves achieving great merit and being recognized by the Heavenly Dao, thus proving the Dao.
This method is both difficult and easy, but yields the weakest mana!”
Primordial, upon hearing this, his eyes flashed continuously, asked, “I dare to ask Master, are there a fixed number of positions for Saints?”
Hong Jun glanced over everyone and said, “The Great Dao is fifty, but Heavenly Dao operates forty-nine.
Under Heavenly Dao, there should be Saints to govern and help complete the Heavenly Dao.
Therefore, under Heavenly Dao, there should be nine positions for Saints.
I occupy one, one is hidden away, leaving seven!”
Upon hearing “three thousand paths, each can prove the Dao,” the initial joy of the crowd suddenly vanished.
Hong Jun observed everyone’s expressions and continued, “The Three Pure Ones are transformations of Pangu’s Primordial Spirit and possess the supreme merit of opening the heavens; they should be able to achieve sainthood.”
Saying so, he waved his hand and released three strands of Hongmeng Purple Qi, saying, “This is the foundation of proving the Dao, ‘Hongmeng Purple Qi’!
Those who obtain this can lodge their Primordial Spirits in the void and achieve the undying position of the Primordial Chaos!”
After speaking, the three strands of Hongmeng Purple Qi naturally merged into the bodies of The Three Pure Ones.
The Three Pure Ones hurriedly knelt and bowed, saying, “Disciple thanks the Master for this gift!”
“Nuwa will also accumulate great merits in the future and can also achieve sainthood,” said Hong Jun.
He then pulled out another strand of Hongmeng Purple Qi and with a wave of his hand sent it into Nuwa’s body.
Nuwa was initially stunned, then immediately knelt joyfully thanking, “Disciple thanks the Master for this gift!”
Zhunti and Jieyin were eagerly watching Hong Jun, and indeed, Hong Jun did not disappoint.
Upon hearing Hong Jun said, “Jieyin, Zhunti, you two will also gain great merit in the future, these two will be given to you both!”
After saying that, two more strands of Hongmeng Purple Qi were thrown by Hong Jun towards Jieyin and Zhunti.
Jieyin and Zhunti were overjoyed, joyfully prostrating themselves on the ground, saying, “Disciple thanks the Master for this gift!”
Zhunti said this while casting a vicious glance at Li Qingming.
Unfortunately, it was splendidly ignored by Li Qingming.
“Hmph!
Let you be arrogant for a moment, when I achieve sainthood, it will be the time of your demise!”
