Snatching jobs?
Carson Flores just smiled faintly, without any attempt to narrate the true facts.
If someone came looking for trouble, what did inverting black and white matter?
“Brother, I’m new to Polgel and don’t understand much.
How about you do the math for me?”
The tattooed youth was taken aback, seemingly not expecting Carson to be so composed.
He plunked down next to Carson: “Sure, I’m always fair in my dealings.
You snatched a big job from Rat, which could’ve earned a commission of nine hundred thousand.
You took the job, you got the performance, so shouldn’t you give him the commission?”
Carson nodded calmly: “Is that it?”
Is that it?
The tattooed youth was thrown off by Carson’s reaction.
Sergio Combs didn’t deceive him about the nine hundred thousand commission and explained what was going on, but if they were going to make trouble, they needed a reason to do so.
Even a delinquent, when extorting or blackmailing someone, needs a pretext; otherwise, it’s not extortion but blatant robbery.
The tattooed youth figured that after saying this, Carson would surely get anxious to explain himself and reason with him, which would give him the chance to apply pressure.
But then Carson simply countered with, “Is that it?”
Could it be he’s actually willing to pay off to avoid disaster?
The tattooed youth sneered coldly: “Of course there’s more.
You not only snatched his job, but you also got him fired from his position as sales team leader.
That job had a good package, and it ain’t easy to find another like it.
You ought to give some compensation, right?
We’re reasonable people, after all.
We don’t ask for much—just a round number, like a million.
Give us a million, and we’ll let this slide.
Everyone can have a drink and forget it happened.”
Carson blinked, “And what if I don’t pay?”
The tattooed youth chuckled, his gaze landing greedily on the faces of Raelynn Howell and Rebecca Ward: “Are these your chicks?
They’re pretty hot.
You don’t have to pay if you don’t want to.
Just let these two gals come with us.
Let them entertain us tonight, keep us happy, and I can let the money slide.”
A cold light flickered in Carson’s eyes as he chuckled: “A million, huh?
I thought you guys gathered around for something serious…”
Carson casually pulled out a bank card from his pocket, placed it on the table, and at the same time, nonchalantly picked up the stainless steel ice tongs from the ice bucket, their tips slightly pointed and serrated on both ends.
“You know the truth, I know the truth, and I can’t be bothered to explain.
Originally, there were five million in this card.
I’ve spent a few hundred thousand, so there should be around four million four hundred thousand left, give or take.
If you want it, come and get it.”
The tattooed youth eyed the bank card and then glanced at the ice tongs in Carson’s hand, suddenly feeling a lack of confidence.
This guy doesn’t seem like a pushover!
From the looks of it, whoever reaches out is going to get it.
The tattooed youth sneered: “You trying to scare me with those ice tongs?”
Carson fiddled with the ice tongs in his hand, glancing at the tattooed youth and said with a smile, “Why would I scare you?
The money is right here; take it.”
The tattooed youth immediately felt insulted and sneered, “I’ll just take it then.
Let’s see what you can do to me.
Guys, if he tries anything, cripple him for me.”
After issuing a verbal threat, the tattooed youth finally reached for the bank card.
The instant his fingertips touched it, everyone’s vision blurred as a flash of silver streaked by.
“Thud!”
“Ah!”
The tattooed youth had been sitting on the sofa when his body suddenly went limp, emitting a piercing scream.
On the table, the stainless steel ice tongs had pierced through the back of his hand and deeply embedded themselves into the wooden table.
Carson’s strike was as swift as lightning, clean and ruthless.
The group that came with the tattooed youth were terrified.
Goodness, this man is ruthless!
To drive an ice tong through a palm and into such a solid wooden table?
How much force was that?
The tattooed youth’s hand was pinned to the tabletop, immobilized as if a snake had been struck at its vital spot.
His whole body softened there, not daring to move, only shouting viciously with his mouth, “What are you waiting for, attack, finish him off for me…
Ah, the pain, the pain!”
Carson’s hand was on the upper end of the ice tongs, shaking them slightly.
He said with a chuckle, “When it comes to a fight, I’ll have to pull out the ice tongs, you’ll have to endure the pain.”
The tattooed youth clenched his teeth, “Don’t be too cocky, you won’t walk out that door today!”
Carson smiled as he picked up the bank card, “Since you’re not taking it, I’ll take it back.
But seeing you’re so confident, to avoid endless trouble later, I’ll give you a chance.
I’ll wait for you by the door.
You can come by yourself or call for backup, either way, let’s settle this once and for all.”
Carson’s gaze landed on Sergio Combs: “If you think they alone are enough to trouble me, you might need to call more people.
Why don’t you call some reinforcements?”
Sergio Combs felt a jolt of panic under Carson’s stare, his heart pounding with fear.
He never expected Carson to be this vicious!
Sergio gritted his teeth and pulled out his phone: “Just you wait.
I’ll call Blade over, and he’ll chop you to pieces!”
