The Fake Heiress Turns Out to Be a True Tycoon!-Chapter 68 - How about you make a bet with me too
Chapter 68: Chapter 68 How about you make a bet with me too
Chapter 68 -68 How about you make a bet with me too
Chase Jennings had originally been waiting for Adam Jennings to join him in reprimanding their rude cousin. After waiting for a while, he saw Adam biting his lip and staying quiet.
However, Chase didn’t have time to ask questions; he turned his head and tried to continue “educating” Scarlett Jennings. Then she suddenly turned her head and asked him out of the blue,
“Why don’t you place a bet with me as well?”
This left Chase stunned.
On the side, Adam’s face went dark. Without waiting for Chase to respond, he grabbed him and pulled him aside.
When he looked at him, every feature on his face seemed to spell out one clear message:
[Don’t agree.]
Messing with Scarlett Jennings wasn’t wise.
But Scarlett was genuinely curious.
From the moment Azura Loomis spoke up earlier, she had predicted that this person wouldn’t stay quiet. And she was right.
In hindsight, she should have waited for Chase yesterday and made a bet with him together.
Chase had stayed in his room yesterday, and Azura knew the whole backstory, seeing that Adam clearly had lost. But she didn’t understand.
When did Adam manage to lose?
As her mind raced, it didn’t prevent her from speaking up to dissuade,
“Brother Chase, don’t talk to Scarlett like that; Uncle will get mad at you again if he sees this.”
Azura said this, then looked at Scarlett,
“If you don’t want to eat my cooking, that’s fine. It was just a suggestion, no need to force it. If there’s anything else you want, just tell me. I truly want to thank you.”
Scarlett glanced at her,
“Then send money.”
Scarlett’s words left not only Azura but also the Jennings brothers, Adam and Chase, momentarily speechless.
However, Scarlett remained unfazed, reaching for her phone and opening the transfer QR code.
“Three hundred thousand.”
Adam instinctively wanted to say, “Are you robbing me?” But catching Scarlett’s gaze, he quickly covered his mouth.
Chase, on the other hand, wasn’t overly concerned and frowned with dissatisfaction,
“Scarlett Jennings, are you really that short on cash? Trying to con your own family?”
Scarlett merely looked at him with indifferent eyes,
“Didn’t she say she wanted to thank me? I don’t need those superficial gestures. If she wants to thank me, just give me the money. Three hundred thousand isn’t an unreasonable price.”
One Thunder Talisman was worth a hundred thousand, and that was one she drew herself.
On the Spirit Network, a single mid-level Thunder Talisman went for at least eight hundred thousand.
Scarlett thought she had offered a very reasonable price.
Azura, seeing Scarlett’s serious intent to request payment, had her eyes flash momentarily before she quickly smiled and said,
“Scarlett’s right, I shouldn’t just say thank you. Three hundred thousand, is it? I’ll transfer it to you now.”
As she spoke, she reached for her phone nearby.
Chase, however, pressed down on her phone.
“Azura, don’t. Isn’t it just that she needs money? I’ll pay.”
Saying this, he went to take out his phone but found he hadn’t brought it. Not wanting Scarlett to think he was making excuses, Chase looked directly at Adam,
“I didn’t bring my phone; Adam, help me transfer it first.”
Adam: ????
Seeing no action from him, Chase frowned again, “What’s wrong with you? Are you actually afraid of her?”
Adam’s eyes widened in response. Afraid of her? Ha, what a joke!
Immediately, he took out his phone and directly transferred five hundred thousand to Scarlett.
The extra two hundred thousand was his gift to her!
Chase, with sharp eyes, noticed and immediately nodded approvingly, then challenged Scarlett with his gaze,
“We gave you an extra two hundred thousand; keep it as pocket money, and stop always begging for money.”
Hearing this, Azura slightly lowered her gaze, her hanging bangs perfectly hiding the smile in her eyes.
Scarlett, seeing the five hundred thousand transfer on her phone, looked back at Chase and Adam’s condescending expressions, then suddenly asked Adam,
“Has no one ever told you not to randomly give money to a Master?”
Adam was taken aback, while Chase stared at Scarlett with a puzzled expression.
Scarlett stared directly at Adam with clear almond eyes and slowly said,
“The extra two hundred thousand, consider it as your advance payment for a divination; I’ll make sure you use it soon.”
Scarlett spoke with neither haste nor delay, and her tone could be described as genuinely serious.
Chase was still puzzled, but Adam, standing at the side, suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.
Chase might not know, but Adam personally experienced it last night and knew Scarlett indeed had some abilities.
Hearing Scarlett’s words, telling him he’ll use it soon, didn’t that imply he would soon encounter some “supernatural event”?
This… What did it have to do with him?!
He was merely assisting with the money transfer!!
Adam regretted it, wondering why he had impulsively sent the extra two hundred thousand.
Chase finally realized the meaning behind Scarlett’s words, his expression immediately darkening, assuming Scarlett was deliberately trying to scare them.
“Scarlett, stop using your mystical nonsense to scare people at home; no one buys into it.”
Although Adam was feeling quite chilly inside, he refused to show any hint of fear towards Scarlett, so he nodded vigorously in agreement with Chase, feigning confidence.
“Whatever you two say.”
Scarlett gave him a glance, but she wasn’t in the mood to continue arguing with these two Jennings. Turning away, she headed to the dining room to have breakfast.
When she almost finished eating, Lucas Jennings came downstairs, squinting as he descended, without even acknowledging those seated in the living room, and headed straight to the dining room.
Seeing Scarlett, the sleepiness in his brain quickly vanished.
Excitedly, he sidled up to Scarlett to rave about how good and useful the Silence Talisman she gave him last night was.
He had played games with the sound on until three in the morning.
And neither his parents nor Uncle Ming heard a peep or came to urge him to sleep.
Scarlett, noticing the dark circles under his eyes, quietly decided to impose more restrictions on selling talismans to minors in the future.
Especially to minors like him, who seemed quite capable of exhausting themselves to death.
She didn’t bother advising him, simply finished her porridge.

Lucas didn’t feel ignored and asked her again,
“Hey, Sis, what are you up to today? Going out?”
Lucas imagined that going out with Scarlett to “serve justice” was extraordinarily fun and wanted to tag along.
“Not going out today.”
Scarlett shattered his illusions,
“I’m staying home to receive a package.”
Lucas: ??
Such a task as receiving a package required staying home purposely?
Then what were Uncle Ming, the other attendants, and security personnel there for?
Before Lucas could ponder more, Uncle Ming walked over, stating that there was a delivery at the villa gate that required the recipient’s signature, asking if it should be allowed in.
Scarlett nodded at Uncle Ming, “It’s my package; let it in.”
Lucas was somewhat curious about what Scarlett had ordered that required her personal signature. Although Azura and the others in the living room didn’t show it, they were equally curious, silently waiting for someone to arrive.
Before long, the villa gate was opened.
Everyone noticed three delivery men standing outside, all wearing black hats.
Lucas recalled that the courier who came yesterday to deliver to Scarlett seemed to be dressed similarly.
But those work uniforms, he didn’t recall ever seeing before.
Which delivery company was this?
Look at this, all matching black clothing, black pants, and black masks.
They looked more like members of some mysterious organization than couriers.
Scarlett stepped forward, first taking out her phone as though to verify something, then each of the three men hoisted a large box, nearly half a person’s height, and followed Scarlett upstairs with ease.
Lucas immediately followed.
Seeing the three of them carrying the boxes into Scarlett’s room, he planned to follow suit but saw Scarlett approach and, right before his eyes, close the door.
Lucas was left in disbelief.
Wasn’t this just a package delivery? Did it need to be so secretive?
Not even letting him see!
Wasn’t he her dear cousin?!
