The Fake Heiress Turns Out to Be a True Tycoon!-Chapter 36 - You Might as Well Hit Me
Chapter 36: Chapter 36 You Might as Well Hit Me
Chapter 36 -36 You Might as Well Hit Me
“What did you say?!”
Timothy Garrison was so furious at Emma White’s words that he almost couldn’t catch his breath.
His voice changed due to his anger, and his eyes glinted with terrifying rage.
Emma White instinctively shrank back, covering her mouth with her hand in distress, “Honey, no, that’s not what I meant…”
She wanted to explain, but what came out was, “I said you are useless. Only a useless man would shout at his family like this. If you’re really that capable, why didn’t you confront that rude girl Scarlett Garrison just now? Isn’t it because she’s now the heiress of the Jennings Family, and you’re too afraid to fall out with her? Too bad she doesn’t even look up to you and probably can’t wait to kick you out!”
“Mom!”
Josiah Garrison was about to lose his mind. Since when did his mom speak to dad like this? Hadn’t it always been whatever dad said goes? Did she go out and lose her mind?
Emma White also felt like she was losing her mind.
Ever since she got to the Jennings house, she couldn’t help but speak the truth.
Not just any truth, but the innermost thoughts she buried deep within her heart.
Seeing Timothy Garrison’s nearly purple face, Emma White thought she might be doomed.
What they didn’t realize was that just moments ago, a shadow previously clinging to Isolde Garrison released tendrils of black smoke into Timothy Garrison’s body, quietly but terrifyingly altering his expression even more.
He glared at Emma White, pointing at her with a trembling finger,
“You, you, you…”
He was so angry he couldn’t speak, but there was a raging fire inside him demanding to be vented.
Suddenly, his gaze landed on the golf clubs by the entrance, and he immediately went over and pulled one out without a word.
Seeing his movement, Josiah Garrison’s face changed instantly, and Emma White and Isolde Garrison turned pale.
Before Josiah could rush over to stop him, Timothy Garrison was already swinging the club viciously.
Crash! Crash!
The ornaments at the entrance shattered to pieces under his blows, and Emma White couldn’t hold back a scream.
“Ahhhh! Help!”
Isolde started crying, “Ahhh boohoo, Dad, we know we were wrong…”
“Honey, I know I was wrong too, calm down!”
The scene was chaotic, yet Timothy continued to swing the club madly, though thankfully he didn’t actually hit Emma White.
Instead, he smashed all the vases and ornaments in the entrance and living room.
Watching the destruction, Emma White’s heart bled.
Several of those broken items were antiques!
Worth nearly ten million combined!
Emma White was truly heartbroken and blurted out,
“You might as well hit me instead, boohoo…”
Josiah Garrison: …
This family was crazy.
…
Two days after the Jennings Family banquet, Scarlett Jennings finally set a time to visit Mrs. Silva.
She packed her things and went downstairs. In the garden, the three Jennings brothers, Lucas, Adam, and Chase, were being forced to do push-ups.
In front of them, Donovan Jennings sat gracefully in a wicker chair, with snacks and flower tea by his side, looking like he was leisurely enjoying an afternoon tea.
Seeing this scene, Scarlett raised an eyebrow, “What’s this?”
“Nothing much. Grandpa said they’ve been lacking exercise lately, so they should use the summer vacation to get some good training in.”
Donovan said with a happy smile, then added, “Knowing you’re going out, the car is ready for you.”
Scarlett nodded. In just a few days, she had almost gotten used to Donovan’s meticulous care.
Ignoring the struggling brothers, Scarlett told Donovan and headed out.
Donovan smiled as he saw her out before turning back to the three, his smile even more gentle, “Keep it up, you have to do at least a hundred today. If you collapse midway, all three of you start over from zero.”
Hearing this, the three almost simultaneously showed despair, crying out,
“Big Brother, we really know we were wrong.”
“I haven’t caused Scarlett any trouble these past two days, we’ve been good!”
“Brother Donovan, you can’t just abandon us brothers for a sister, we’re your family too.”
Donovan remained unfazed by their pleas, maintaining his noble, elegant smile, “Mm, complete one hundred, then you’ll count as family. Fail today, and your video games and collectibles will still be in my custody.”
They howled in agony.
Since the last banquet, the family treated Scarlett like a revered ancestor.
The reason was that Gideon Silva and his wife had expressed gratitude to Old Sir Jiang at the banquet because Scarlett had saved their daughter’s life. Moreover, they didn’t forget to comment,
“Scarlett is truly skilled. Our family really appreciates her, so young yet so capable, she earns money to pay back the Garrison Family’s expenses. It’s remarkable.”
Hearing this, the Jennings Family had mixed thoughts. It was this moment when they realized that Scarlett, so unappreciated at the Garrison house, wouldn’t have received much pocket money. So where did the five million come from?
With Gideon’s reminder, they finally understood.
She earned it herself!
The family’s first reaction wasn’t to feel proud of Scarlett’s ability, but shame.
Even Lucas Jennings looked complicated.
He used to think Scarlett’s dabbling in supernatural things was embarrassing, but she did it to earn money.
He still couldn’t understand why, since Scarlett returned to the Jennings, she bothered going through all that trouble.
A mere five million for living expenses should have been easy to get by asking her uncle, yet she worked hard to earn and repay it herself.
That night, Luca Jennings transferred ten million to Scarlett.
Five million to repay the Garrison Family and another five million as spending money for her.
Scarlett didn’t know what to say.
Last time, as soon as she transferred one and a half million out, Donovan doubled her pocket money.
This time, just after paying back five million, he doubled the amount and sent it back to her.
It was the first time Scarlett experienced never lacking money.
But money that reached her pocket wouldn’t be easily returned out of politeness.
With this money, she could finally bid for something she had her eyes on.
As she was searching her phone for an auction notice, the car stopped at the Silva Family’s door.
Gideon Silva and Mrs. Silva had been waiting for her and rushed out as soon as she got out of the car.
“Master Jennings, you’re here.”
Though Mrs. Silva called her Scarlett at the Jennings house for closeness, privately she addressed her as Master Jennings.
The former was to show support, but the latter purely out of respect.
Thinking about finally restoring her daughter Little Lili back to normal, Mrs. Silva was so excited she couldn’t sleep last night.
Not just her, Gideon and Bryson Silva also stayed up all night.
They cleared their work schedules today for the purpose of witnessing Little Lili’s recovery.
Facing the eager Silva Family, Scarlett offered a reassuring smile, skipping the small talk, and took out a paper bundle from her backpack.
The Silva Family saw a few strands of hair wrapped in Yellow Talisman inside the paper.
These were the hairs of the one who swapped away Little Lili’s intelligence!
The Silva Family practically had fire in their eyes.
Looking at them, Scarlett thought for a moment and said,
“Before we start, there is something I need to confess to you all.”
