The Extra's Survival-Chapter 165: Six Individuals WhoWould Shoulder The Burden
"Fine, I concede defeat but you have to answer one of my questions first," Valentina spoke as she released the grief of her metal staff.
After Valentina conceded defeat, the referee announced Lucas as the winner and he advanced to the 128 round.
Lucas heaved in relief for being able to win the match without showcasing too much of his power.
He was fighting after implicating several handicapped in himself.
Still, her opponent Valentina deserves his respect and she was a worthy opponent who shouldn't be underestimated.
"Tell me how did you make your sword change its path like that," Valentina asked with an eager expression.
Lucas scratched his cheek, in truth he used telekinesis to change its trajectory to surprise her a little and sneaked on her from behind and startle her but he hadn't thought that she would actively seek the answer.
'God damn who asks his opponent to explain his or her moves like this.'
"That...I threw my sword with a high spinning motion, you know like a boomerang which reverts its direction in the mid-air. I applied that theory to it. Due to the high spinning throw, it was able to curve in the air slightly due to high rotational motion which allowed it to change the trajectory in the mid-air." Lucas tried to explain and make up things as much as possible.
Valentina heard Lucas's words with a serious expression and after careful consideration, she nodded her head as if she caught onto something interesting and said"Thanks, I got it."
'What! She got it. What did she get!'Lucas mumbled inwardly but was too embarrassed to ask what she understood after all he didn't know himself what he said a few moments ago.
Valentina noticed Lucas's expression of disbelief and shock.
She took the staff and raised it and closing her eyes, she started to chant about a spell.
Swishhhhh...
With a swish, an air bullet was fired which rotated around and glided through the curved at a swift angle.
Lucas's jaw dropped wide open as he saw her skills and blinked a couple of times.
If not for being on stage in front of many people, he would have pinched his cheek to wonder whether it was a dream or not.
"See, I got it," Valentina spoke with a lovely smile.
"It's good that you got it. Okay, see you." Lucas spoke and tried to act tough and ran away from her as fast as possible in case his lie would be exposed that he didn't know anything about what she did.
......
In a white room.
Three people were present and on a large screen where various matches of the participants were shown.
Josh stared looked at the record of the Participants and observed their matches.
Out of all the contestants, he had marked 30 outstanding students based on their ability.
The 30 students whom he separated were not based on the grade of their bloodlines rather he took their demeanour, fighting style, combat prowess, and physical awareness into account.
Beside him stood Ami and another teacher who seems to be in his early 40 and like Ami he was also 8-Star in rank.
Looking at the recent battle that happened, he lamented"Too bad, Valentina was knocked out."
"Even with her golden bloodline, she is one of the most talented mages I have seen." The man spoke.
Josh smiled a little and spoke, "It's her bad luck to match against this boy."
"Moreover, this boy hasn't even used his full strength and just used a pretty trick to defeat her. She was unlucky to be caught by surprise by his cheap trick." Josh spoke.
"Still, Principal did you notice any sign of any mage who is qualified to hold the title," Ami asked.
"No. I can't. Even though we have quite talented genius in Horizon, I can't notice any person who can hold the title."
"What were you talking about and what the hell are we looking for?"The man asked.
Josh sighed and rubbed his forehead whether he should tell him or not.
The man was his student.
Mat Ironheart, the boy was quite talented and after graduation his graduation from the horizon, he declined the offer to become a knight and wanted to be a teacher.
Josh saw his talent and thought to train him to take the charge of the school if something troublesome came up and in case he had to leave.
Even that old fogie had acknowledged his talent and decided him to act as a supporting Principal, for now, unless someone else pops up.
" Listen to Mat, since you are a member of the upper echelon, you may have already heard about this."
"Are you talking about those weird rumours that are floating around recently," Mat asked?
"Yes, the rumour about the six talented individuals who will shoulder the world when a huge crisis will arrive," Josh spoke.
" Ohh, those weird prophecies. Aren't those all bullshit?"
"Isn't it..Is." Mat laughed but seeing Josh's and Ami's serious expressions, he frowned.
"What the hell!. That was true. So what are you doing now." Mat asked pointing his fingers.
"The seer who saw the future doesn't have much information about those individuals except one who is supposed to be a mage," Josh spoke.
"The Mage of Destruction."
Mat felt his head spinning and asked"Okay, I got it about the rumours being true but why are searching for them now. Wouldn't they naturally show themselves when the situation arises?"
"Hmmm," Josh spoke and leaned on his chair as he pondered something closing his eyes.
"We don't know what things future hold for us but since there are going to be strong individuals as predicted, people wanted to reap rewards from before."
"They wanted to get closer and use their conditions to set a good image of themselves before they are ripe."
"That's why we need to find those who had a probability to become the pillars and safeguard them from being targeted. Since we knew it, the rumours in one way or another may reach the demon ear sooner and later and if that happens they will leave no leaf unturned to get them and will kill anyone who had the shown the capability." Josh spoke with a solemn expression.
"So, the prediction is more of a pain in the ass than providing relief. If this goes on countless innocent individuals are going to be slaughtered." Mat spoke rubbing his chin.
Ami heard the discussion and sighed, the king had secretly asked to search for such individuals but it is just like searching for a needle in a haystack, no in fact it's like searching for a needle in the vast grassland.
"Sir, Josh so what have you found till now," Ami asked curiously.
Josh rubbed his forehead and spoke, "Nothing, if that old fogie was here, I am sure he could have identified something or may have got a lead."
"Oh! Come on. We don't need to be that serious after all there is no guarantee that the mage would be here or even any of that individual would from our Kingdom isn't it." Mat spoke and laughed.
But stopped as he saw Ami's serious expression and asked"Hey, what's wrong?"
"Wouldn't it be bad, if another kingdom would have given birth to such talented individuals where we have got nothing? Wouldn't our Cyprus be considered inferior when compared to them?" Ami replied with a solemn expression.
"You are right about that." Mat spoke and scratched his neck embarrassingly.
"By the way Sir, I wanted to ask something," Ami spoke.
"Yes, go on Ami." Josh waved his hand.
"Is the sudden change in the dungeon location due to this?" Ami asked curiously.
Josh raised his brows and was lost in thoughts while tapping his fingers on the table.
"It may be or maybe not," Josh replied.
Both Mat and Ami frowned at his response.
"I don't know what goes inside the rotten head of those foggies"
"The Principal and the Imperial Teacher. Both of them had lived more than 300 years and the principal had already crossed 500 years. Even I wondered sometimes, just how this that old bone was able to live so long."
"Even a 9-Star life span wouldn't grant you that much life span. Those bastards are one whole different level and their appearance is enough to intimidate a whole army of 9-Star."
"Living for so long must have naturally made them crazy. So, I think, they may have found something entertaining and wanted to test the person whom they found interesting. But that is just my guess." Josh explained.
"Hey, I think you shouldn't speak ill of them so much after all who knows you would also behave the same once you cross 200 years of age." Mat spoke.
Josh's mouth twitched on hearing his disciple's words and frowned at the thought that one day Mat would be sitting in his position and after analyzing things would call him crazy old foggy.
Josh shrugged and shook away the thoughts.
"Ami, I have found something interesting. I think you take a look." Josh spoke and clicked on the button.
The scenes displayed on the screen changed and it displayed a place, full lf crowds.
As the scene played out Ami frowned as he noticed the things.
While they watched the scene, Josh clicked again and the scenes changed.
After watching the whole thing, Josh spoke with a stern tone"Ami, keep an eye on Wilson, he may go wild and hurt someone like that if he goes on a rampage again."
