The Extra's Advent: My Villainess Fiancée is a Yandere-Chapter 17: Everbright Academy
Taking one last look at his handsome face in the mirror, Cael finally left the estate and began his journey to the academy.
In his application, he had clearly stated that he would not be staying in the academy dormitories. Instead, he would travel back and forth between the estate and the academy.
The travel fees were not cheap, but who cares? He was rich anyway. So, it didn’t matter.
Sigh.
However, after learning that Elowyn would be staying at the academy during her academic years, Cael’s mother, Martha, immediately ordered him to stay there as well.
Naturally, Cael refused.
He used Martha’s health as his reason. It wasn’t entirely an excuse. He genuinely meant it.
After arguing for nearly an hour, they reached a compromise.
He would check on her once every three days.
Martha was all smiles afterward. She had achieved her objective.
Cael briefly considered telling her about his cloning ability.
If she knew, he could leave his clones at the estate without worrying.
It would reduce complications if someone ever discovered his other clones in the training room.
Rather than letting someone else tell her, Cael preferred to be the one who explained it himself.
But he still decided not to tell her. Not yet. When he was strong enough, he would tell her himself.
He had already prepared answers for possible questions in the future.
Shaking those thoughts away, Cael stepped onto the teleportation circle.
A familiar sensation of spatial disorientation wrapped around him. When the distortion faded, he found himself in the capital city, Karyal.
There were teleportation circles that connected directly to the academy, but for security reasons, they were currently shut down.
During the entrance examination, he had used direct academy teleportation.
Now, he had to use one of the public circles nearest to the academy.
It was a ten-minute walk from here. Cael didn’t mind walking. He took out his mobile device and followed the directions.
The morning streets were crowded. Students in purple academy uniforms moved in groups, chatting excitedly. Most of them were first-year students, just like him.
As he approached, he saw it. A massive wall nearly two hundred meters tall. It enclosed an area spanning fifty miles. The academy was so vast it felt like a city of its own.
Cael slowed his steps as he read the name engraved across the wall in more than thirty languages.
EVERBRIGHT ACADEMY.
Near the entrance, an attendant was checking student IDs.
"ID, please."
Cael handed over his identification. After scanning it, the attendant returned it with a polite smile.
"Welcome to Everbright Academy, Caelir Vayne."
...
Cael walked forward, observing the academy entrance without much interest.
His gaze eventually paused on a row of transport buses lined up near the gate.
These buses were meant to take first-year students to their assigned dormitories and main venues.
Without thinking too much about it, he stepped onto one and took a seat near the window.
After a few minutes, the bus began to move.
Cael watched the passing scenery. The academy grounds were vast. Training fields, tall buildings, distant towers, and open courtyards passed by in sequence.
Before long, the bus came to a stop. Cael stepped down along with several other students.
In front of them stood a massive ceremonial hall.
"Oh! Right. The entrance ceremony."
He had completely forgotten about it.
Muttering to himself, Cael entered the venue and found a seat somewhere in the middle.
And then he waited.
And waited.
And waited.
’This is so damn annoying.’
Nearly an hour had passed since he arrived, yet students were still pouring in without end.
The hall gradually filled with purple uniforms. The noise rose. Just as Cael was beginning to lose what little patience he had left, a voice echoed from the stage.
"Ahem. Attention, please."
Cael let out a slow breath.
’Finally. The waiting is over.’
...
A tall woman stepped onto the stage. She wore a deep black formal coat lined with silver threads, her posture straight and commanding.
Her black hair was tied neatly behind her head, and her sharp amber eyes swept across the hall.
"I am Vice Principal Seraphina V. Hale."
Her voice was calm, but it carried effortlessly across the entire venue. The noise in the hall died instantly.
"You are now students of Everbright Academy."
"For some of you, this is a dream. And for a few, perhaps merely an obligation."
She paused, letting the words settle. A faint smile appeared on her lips as she continued,
"Regardless of your reasons for coming here, understand this: Everbright Academy is not a place for comfort."
"Our primary objective is simple. We build foundations."
Her gaze sharpened as she took a step forward.
"Foundations strong enough to withstand hostile races beyond our borders."
"You have all heard the stories. Demonized exaggerations. Heroic legends. Political propaganda."
The hall grew noticeably quieter. Her tone remained steady.
"I will not embellish the truth."
"Some of you will die during academy assignments."
Her eyes moved slowly across the rows of students. The words landed heavily.
"No one here is guaranteed survival."
"We simulate war because war is real. We assign dangerous missions because the borders are much more dangerous. If you cannot handle that reality, you should reconsider your place here."
She raised her hand slightly.
"If anyone wishes to leave, today is your only opportunity."
"Once the academy term officially begins tomorrow, withdrawal will no longer be an option."
"Everbright Academy does not imprison students, but once you are formally inducted, you are part of the defense structure of humanity."
Her expression softened slightly,
"That said, we are not tyrants."
"We will not interfere in your personal lives as long as your actions remain within academy rules."
"You may form alliances. Rivalries. Relationships. Businesses. Political networks."
"We encourage growth."
Then her tone suddenly hardened as she continued,
"But we do not tolerate internal decay."
"If any student is found bullying, ragging, or harassing another..."
"They will be reassigned to border duty for one month."
A ripple moved through the hall.
"You are no longer children."
"You are candidates for war."
Her gaze swept the entire hall one last time.
"Prove that you deserve to stand on the same ground as those who defend our world."
She stepped back.
"Welcome to Everbright Academy."
The hall remained silent for several seconds before someone started to applaud.
Cael leaned back slightly in his seat.
’Well... her way of doing things is exactly as it was described in the novel.’
’The Crimson Butcher, Seraphina V. Hale.’
