The Extra Seeks Chaos-Chapter 243: Beginning of a Nightmare
'Hmm, stronger Beasts, huh? That'll be quite interesting...'
Fang continued,
"Apart from me, and the fourteen of them," she said, gesturing towards the twelve men and two women who were seated, "there are also quite a good number of people who can fight in this village."
Fang paused for a few seconds before she continued.
"Though, most of them end up being injured after defending the village from Beast Tides. Since the rainy season is here, the stronger Beasts will be an issue."
"I understand," Arin said. "Like I said before, we will assist as much as possible."
Fang nodded.
She knew that Arin had said it before, but she just wanted to be sure. After all, she was letting them stay in her village, so she had to also gain something from them.
"I'm glad to hear that," Fang said. "I'm predicting that the Beast Tide will happen in two days' time. In the meantime, the individuals who can fight in this village will keep training in preparation for the Beast Tide, and also in case the Vampires attack again..."
She made sure to mention the Vampires, and she said it in a way that made it sound like she was telling Arin that he and his team also had to help them defend the village against the Vampires.
"Noted," Arin said. "I and my team will also get prepared."
Fang nodded. "Alright. Moving on to the case about the Vampire you questioned, we would like to know what he said."
"And we hope you won't leave any detail out," one of the men said as he stared at Arin with cautious eyes.
In fact, about 5 out of the 14 individuals were staring at Arin with eyes filled with cautiousness.
Arin just nodded in response before he began telling them what the Vampire told him.
A few minutes later, he had completely told them everything.
There wasn't really anything to hide.
And as expected...
"What the hell...? Vampires can now use Mana?"
Their eyes were widened as they processed what Arin just said.
Out of all the things Arin told them, this was the most shocking revelation.
"Yes," Tessa said. "I was also shocked when the Vampire said it."
Both Fang and the other fourteen individuals trusted Tessa more than any other person present, so since she agreed with Arin, they also believed him.
"No wonder they were able to attack the cities at daytime..." Riya said, her shocked expression hidden beneath her mask.
"This will make the Vampires even more stronger than before... I mean, since they can now use Mana, that means that they now have affinities and can use Spells," Leon said, his eyes squinted.
Ethan was just seated, but his shocked expression was also visible.
Fang's expression hardened. "I will protect this village at all cost... No matter what..." she murmured.
Her determination was clear.
The meeting finally ended with them creating strategies on how they would handle the Beast Tide.
They all exited the meeting room and were now standing in front of the building.
The fourteen individuals all left to their different homes to train, leaving Fang with Arin and the others.
Arin and Fang began walking towards the building where their rooms were located while Tessa, Ethan, Leon and Riya were walking behind them, discussing.
"The people in the village are still cautious of you," Fang said, "but don't worry, they'll come around."
Arin nodded. "I hope so. I'm just trying to survive with my friends."
Fang stared at Arin as she whispered, "I know there's still things you're hiding."
Arin smiled beneath his mask. "Things like what?"
Fang scoffed.
"Like your identity."
She squinted her eyes as she said Arin's exact words. "I have a tendency to not show my face."
"You think that was a perfect excuse? I'm not so sure," she added as she raised a brow. "I don't want to judge so soon, so I hope you'll eventually tell me everything I need to know."
At this point, Arin knew that there was no need to even play dumb. It was already clear that she knew that Arin was still hiding things.
But most importantly...
'She's still letting us stay in the village even though she knows I'm hiding things... She's quite understanding,' Arin thought.
Arin finally stared at Fang.
"Thank you for understanding. I'll tell you everything you need to know... Don't worry."
Fang didn't reply.
She just turned back and began walking away.
Arin sighed.
"At least, she's not pressuring you too much to reveal your identity," Seraphine said.
"Yeah," Arin said. "And moreover, I was already planning to show her my face and also tell her about my race."
"Tell her about your race?" Seraphine asked, her tone laced with confusion. "Hmm, I believe you have a good reason for that."
"Yes," Arin said. "It might sound weird, but it'll benefit me."
"Hey, Chaos."
Arin instantly turned back to see Riya who was approaching him.
"She's suspicious, right?" Riya asked as she finally reached Arin.
"Yes, but it's nothing serious for now."
"I see..." Riya said.
"Oh... Tessa knows that I'm Arin now, so don't find it weird if the way she talks to me is quite different than before."
"Oh wow," Riya said. "Then I guess you should also reveal your identity to Ethan. The shock on his face when he finds out that you're the guy he pursued in the tournament will be quite entertaining."
"Yeah... I should do that," Arin said. "But what about you?"
Riya smiled as she folded her arms. "Leon and Tessa will be shocked, for sure. Well, I have no reason to cover my face anymore."
Arin nodded. "Alright..."
Riya was about to increase her walking pace, but she suddenly stopped.
"Ah, it's been a while since I saw Roxanne. You should let her come to my room when it's nighttime."
Arin knew that Riya and Roxanne were really good friends. Ever since that day when he left Roxanne in Riya's office so that she could prepare her for the ceremony, they had become good friends.
"Then we can both brainstorm on different ways to cut that long white hair that comes when you're in your Vampire form," Riya added with an evil chuckle.
Arin's expression paled. "You just gave me one reason why I shouldn't even let her come to your room."
Riya laughed as she stared at Arin. "Chill. I'm just joking."
Finally, they reached the building.
It was still morning, but Arin wanted to start making a new Water Element Spell, so he chose to go back to his room.
It was the same for Tessa.
Ethan and Leon had already gone off to somewhere. They probably wanted to explore the village.
As for Riya...
"I'll be leaving you here," Riya said as she turned back and began walking towards the building where the meeting was held.
"I have an appointment with Fang," she added.
"I see... Tell me about it later," Arin said before walking into the building and entering his room.
He dropped the bracelet on the ground, and Roxanne appeared.
She greeted as usual before walking towards the window.
"Alright, time to make a new Water Element Spell," Arin murmured to himself.
He sat down on a lotus position and closed his eyes.
He had forgotten that he was yet to check the upgrade he got from the system.
'Time to increase my strength once again,' Arin thought. 'After all, I have a feeling that I'll be fighting someone powerful really soon... Really soon...'

Greatheart City...
Debris.
Smoke.
Craters.
Blood.
.... Bodies.
This was what Greatheart City was currently filled with. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
And the cause?
The attack of the Vampires.
Greatheart City was one of the five cities that was attacked by the Vampires.
During the first hour of the attack, more than 200 humans were killed.
Immediately, some of the Mages and Warriors in the city began fighting back while the others began running away.
Some whose homes were quite a few distance away from where the attack was more concentrated decided to stay and hide in their homes, hoping that the Warriors and Mages would defeat the Vampires.
But these Vampires weren't like the ones they knew.
These ones could use Magic...
But when all hope seemed lost, the King's Royal Army arrived.
With the help of the King's Royal Army, the Vampires were all killed, but it left a great part of the city in ruins.
And apart from that, about 400 humans died in total.
But yes... The Vampires in Greatheart City were defeated.
This was the same for the other four cities that were attacked by Vampires.
Even though the cities were left in ruins and a lot of humans died, the Vampires were killed.
But while they were happy and sad at the same time, what they didn't know was that there was a greater threat.
********
Zane City.
In a dark alley, a man was pinned to the wall.
His neck was held by a certain individual, but this individual wasn't just holding the man's neck.
"Ah... That was quite refreshing," the individual said as he wiped his blood-stained lips with his right hand.
His red hair fluttered wildly as he grinned and released his grip on the man.
The man's unconscious body fell on the ground with a thud.
"Alright... I can start now..."
The man left the alley and began walking among the other humans.
But at the same time...
"AGHHHHHH!!!"
A chilly scream was heard, making every single person look towards a single direction.
This was just the beginning of a nightmare for Zane City, and the kingdom in general.
Valeric smiled.
"It has begun..."
