The Ex-Wife's Revenge: Rise of the Real Heiress.-Chapter 207: Planned tears
"Beatrice hired a set of investigators from the Black Market regions to investigate who was behind the factory fire. It’s the Eagle Eye group," Justin told Elara through the Bluetooth.
Elara, who was trying on a wedding gown, smirked. She waved to the helpers Daniel had hired to help her choose the dress she wanted.
The helpers bowed respectfully before leaving her alone in the changing room so she could talk to whoever it was on the phone.
"It’s okay. Let them find it was the Nocturnal Hunters," Elara said.
"But she might come for you since this name has been affiliated with you during Sean’s case," Justin said.
Elara hummed.
That was exactly what she wanted to happen. She wanted Beatrice to come looking for her and ask how she had been involved in her destruction.
She wanted to see the worry, panic, anguish, and helplessness on Beatrice’s face that she once wore when she was married to Andrew.
And when she would come accusing her, she would release the next evidence against Beatrice that would blow the world.
Negative PR was a thing, and it was really dangerous.
"Do one thing for me," Elara said after some time.
"What is it?" Justin asked, excited.
Honestly, he was so invested in this that it almost felt like it was his own revenge, and he wanted it to be as dirty as it could get.
"Fasten the process," Elara said.
"You mean I should give them the hints myself?" Justin asked. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Well, you can try," Elara said.
Justin nodded at her suggestion and ended the call after a few more words.
Without wasting his time, he logged into the official account of the Nocturnal Hunters in the underworld that they had been using to warn the clubs and pubs that were doing illegal trafficking.
He uploaded the picture of the Maiden’s burning factory, the unsolicited one, which was taken by Xylon’s men right after it started burning, so it would look like they took it.
Once done, he waited for a few minutes.
Just like Elara had said, the Eagle Eye group immediately contacted him.
He wore his headset before using the voice changer.
"Hello?" Justin said on the voice call, and the man on the other end immediately greeted him. After all, the man was representing that one gang that brought chaos to more than half of the underworld as soon as they began operating again.
"I think all are good, but I am confused between these three. Which one would you prefer?" Elara asked as soon as she got out of the changing room.
"I would prefer you without any of them," she heard the familiar voice and looked up, her cheeks turning red.
She looked to the side where her mother stood, and her ears turned even redder.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, suddenly embarrassed, while Gabriella and the workers fought hard against the smile that was itching on their lips.
"I had some time between my next meeting and thought of stopping by to see how my wife’s shopping is going," Daniel stood from the seat and walked to her before he cupped her neck and pulled her in for a chaste kiss.
Elara melted in his arms, her heartbeat picking up its pace immediately.
"Ahem ahem," her mother coughed, and the two pulled away from each other, her mother’s expression making her blush even harder.
"Please excuse my words from earlier," Daniel said gentlemanly, and Gabriella waved her hand to dismiss the matter.
"Will you stay for lunch?" Elara asked.
Daniel cupped her cheeks.
"Forgive me, my love, but I need to make time for choosing a suit for me, and I would need your assistance in that. For that, I’ll have to skip this offer of having lunch with you. I’ll make up for it, I promise," Daniel said, regret evident in his eyes.
Elara smiled at his words before shaking her head. She stood on her tiptoes and pecked his cheeks.
"It’s okay. Thank you for coming. Now help me choose first," Elara said, and Daniel picked a beige-colored gown that looked ethereal.
"Keep this one for your award show," Daniel said.
Elara rolled her eyes at his words.
"How do you know I would even be nominated, let alone win something?" She asked.
"I know you will. Now listen to me and keep both of them," he cooed in her ears before looking at the workers, who nodded and took his card for the payment.
"Daniel, you don’t need to pay for the dress. It should be from our side," Gabriella said.
Daniel shook his head at her words.
"I am buying my wife’s dress. You can buy my clothes. Everything related to her is going to be bought by me only," Daniel declared, as if it were some kind of honor.
Gabriella sighed exasperatedly. Logan would definitely not be happy about it. She thought, hoping for this wedding to happen in peace.
They had yet to inform Hannah and Jennifer, who would be over the moon if they heard the news. She had hoped to tell them only a couple of days ago, so they wouldn’t do anything extravagant and risk exposing it to the outlets.
After shopping, Elara asked Antonio to take her back to her apartment after dropping Toby off at his building.
While inside the car, she received a message from Xylon’s men, who had been patrolling her building, about the stranger’s presence they suspected, and she couldn’t help but smile.
Elara had only stepped out of the car when she heard a loud shriek and barely dodged the hand of the person in time.
"What the hell is your problem, Elara? Why do you keep messing with me?" Beatrice shrieked when she stumbled forward and couldn’t slap Elara like she wanted.
Antonio stepped forward, ready to intervene and teach Beatrice a good lesson for even thinking of harming his boss, when Elara waved her hand to signal him not to interfere.
Elara didn’t say anything, keeping her gaze on Beatrice, infuriating the woman even more.
"Are you deaf? I am asking you something! What is your problem? I know you are the one behind the fire in Maiden’s company," Beatrice said.
Elara extended her palm towards Beatrice, and she looked at the hand in confusion.
"What?"
"Evidence. Since you are so sure about it, you must’ve brought evidence for it," Elara said.
Beatrice paused for a second.
"I don’t need any evidence to accuse you. You are the only one who hates me to that extent. How dare you come for my family?!" Beatrice asked.
"I didn’t do anything. But then again, maybe you deserved it." Elara raised her brows before she tilted herself a little.
"You!" Beatrice raised her hand before she slapped Elara, and her face turned to the side.
"Beatrice!" Antonio immediately held Beatrice’s hand and pulled her away from Elara.
"Let go! I will teach this bitch a lesson! You are too proud of yourself just because Macros signed you, no? But don’t forget I am the ultimate winner. I stole your husband, seduced him right from under your nose, and am even more popular than you will ever be," Beatrice said.
Elara licked the inside of her cheeks before nodding.
"You are right. You are more famous than I am. It’s also correct that you stole my husband from me. I was married to Andrew because I loved him, but you took that away. But must you ruin my reputation, too? I am working hard to rise. Why do you hate me so much? You always said you were jealous of my beauty, but how far will you go?" Elara asked, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Beatrice raised her brows.
When did she say she was jealous of her beauty? While it was true, she never said it out loud. How dare she mock her?! Beatrice glared at Elara and was about to speak when, out of nowhere, she heard the sound of cameras going off.
Elara stepped back before she pretended to hide her face from the paparazzi that she already knew about.
Xylon’s men had asked her if she wanted to do something about them, and for a second, she had wanted to send them away, but thinking Beatrice would reach her anytime, and it might happen at her apartment, she didn’t order them to act.
Luck was definitely on her side since Beatrice indeed couldn’t wait for her to show up at the production house the next day and came all the way to her apartment.
"Hey! Don’t click photos!" Antonio went along with the drama and quickly pulled out his coat before placing it over Elara’s head as he pulled her inside the building.
Beatrice tried to run to her car, but reporters got to her first.
"Miss Beatrice, is it really true you had been bullying Miss Elara?"
"You stole Mr. Andrew from her?"
"Was it all because of your jealousy, or did you have ulterior motives?"
"Did that happen when you were his secretary?"
"Is that why you chose the mistress role for your next role?"
The questions nearly made Beatrice dizzy, and she quickly got inside the car, starting the car despite the reporters banging on her windows to open up and speak.
Elara watched the scene from inside the building and smiled.
"Are you okay?" Antonio asked, and Elara looked up at him before nodding.
"I saw it coming and dodged most of the impact. It was just an act," Elara assured him before she turned and walked to the elevator.
She dialed Justin’s number.
"Do it now," she ordered, and Justin smirked.
"On it, ma’am," he said.
