Chapter 1633: Chapter 1633: Visitors from Beyond (20)

With Zuo Jiu leading the way, Chuzheng quickly made her way into the core area of District One.

Na Xia scanned the building markers on both sides and soon identified the target: "It should be that one."

From a distance, the building resembled an eagle in flight, labeled as a stadium from the outside.

District One’s facilities were complete, their things were no different from the normal world.

Chuzheng and her group entered through the back door... using Zuo Jiu’s face.

Zuo Jiu: "!!!"

Do you dare let go of me!

One-on-one!

I demand a one-on-one!

Chuzheng looked around the vast arena: "Where is the stuff?"

It looked no different from an ordinary stadium.

Na Xia scrutinized the surroundings: "I didn’t hear it clearly, it should be in here. Na Dong, let’s split up and search."

Having come this far, Na Dong could only nod.

"Your Highness, be careful."

Na Dong and Na Xia quickly split up to search.

Chuzheng leaned against the railing, looking down at the basketball court. It was break time, so it was empty and deserted.

"Miss Chuzheng... what exactly are we looking for?" Brother Hui was confused all along.

-

In certain galaxies, there had always been a legend.

In the vast universe, there was said to be a Cosmic Stone, the power of which was unimaginable, and whoever obtained it could become the strongest race in the universe.

This rumor circulated across different galaxies.

Everyone believed in the existence of the Cosmic Stone and took action, attempting to find it to become the most powerful entity in the universe.

Yet no one had ever seen this so-called Cosmic Stone. It only existed in hearsay.

However, some races frequently found records about the Cosmic Stone in certain universe relics.

With such evidence, people were more convinced of the Cosmic Stone’s existence.

Even the original owner’s race believed in it.

The conversation Na Xia overheard was about the Cosmic Stone.

The Underground City had been operational for so many years, relying on a single stone, otherwise, with the energy they were extracting, the Underground City would have shut down long ago.

Qing Dai didn’t initially think about it this way.

But as more words were coaxed out, the connection to the Cosmic Stone soon emerged.

Perhaps excitedly, Qing Dai slipped up, and Na Xia happened to hear it.

The Underground City’s operation depended on that stone, having run for so many years, it seemed odd, and thus Na Xia told Chuzheng.

What if it really was the legendary Cosmic Stone?

If Qing Dai really got hold of it, they would be utterly defeated.

"Mmmph mmmph!!"

Zuo Jiu’s mouth seemed to be sealed, and he could only make sounds from his throat.

Chuzheng glanced at him: "Got something to say?"

Zuo Jiu’s eyes were red and bloodshot: "Mmm mmm mmm!!!"

Chuzheng lowered her hand, and Zuo Jiu’s sore mouth was instantly freed.

Zuo Jiu exercised his mouth, shock and anger filled his eyes: "You’re here for the Energy Crystal!!"

Energy Crystal?

That was likely the name the Underground City gave to that stone.

Chuzheng turned around, leaning back against the railing, her right leg slightly bent, heel resting against the wall below, her elbow supporting her body, her posture appearing casual and languid.

She slowly lifted her eyelids: "Do you know where that thing is?"

Zuo Jiu was just too angry to think clearly, only wanting to question it. When Chuzheng asked him back, he was suddenly aware.

How did he let that slip out?!

Zuo Jiu’s heart pounded wildly. He immediately turned his head away to avoid Chuzheng’s gaze, and stiffly said: "How would I know, I’ve only heard of it."

Chuzheng spoke slowly: "I heard the Special Action Group only answers to He Jin, you’re not in a low position, it’s impossible for you not to know the whereabouts of that thing."

Zuo Jiu’s face inexplicably darkened, first coldly laughing, then sneering: "If you truly want to know, you should ask Lou Xing, you must have heard of him, the recent reports are all about him. I’m just a temporary executor, how would such information be known to me."

Listening carefully, there was a faint trace of bitterness and jealousy.

Zuo Jiu continued: "But if you want to find Lou Xing now, it’s probably impossible."

The Special Action Group was searching for someone every day, yet every time they found him, he managed to slip away.

Chuzheng: "You really don’t know?"

"I don’t know," Zuo Jiu responded stiffly.

"Alright." Chuzheng didn’t dwell on it: "Then let’s move to the next question."

Zuo Jiu: "???"

What next question?

"What’s the deal with the charges against Lou Xing?" Chuzheng’s calm gaze met Zuo Jiu’s: "Are you jealous of him, deliberately framing him?"

Zuo Jiu’s face first showed surprise, then was filled only with anger, his tone significantly higher.

"You’re saying I framed him for something he did himself?"

"It wasn’t you?"

"Why would I frame him!" Zuo Jiu protested: "Don’t you dare accuse me!"

Chuzheng stared at Zuo Jiu for a few seconds. He was angry, but not guilty.

Chuzheng couldn’t tell if she believed him or not: "Then who was it?"

Zuo Jiu snorted coldly: "He colluded with thieves; no one is framing him, the evidence is conclusive!"

Zuo Jiu showed no signs of guilt, leaving Chuzheng unable to determine if it was truly him or not.

So...

"Ah—"

Zuo Jiu was pressed against the railing by Chuzheng, half his body hanging out.

The drop was high; falling down here would either kill or maim him.

"It really wasn’t me!!" Zuo Jiu lamented that no one was in the stadium, not even anyone to call for help.

Zuo Jiu never imagined that when he finally had such an opportunity to make a name for himself and replace Lou Xing, he would encounter such a woman.

Zuo Jiu’s anger was boiling over.

"Then do you know who it was?"

"..."

Chuzheng pushed his head down slightly.

Zuo Jiu felt the hand holding him could let go anytime, sending him plummeting below, smashing...

"I don’t know if it’s him, I’m just guessing."

He didn’t want to die.

He could sense this woman would indeed push him off.

Chuzheng: "Who?"

Zuo Jiu swallowed hard, then quickly ratted out a colleague: "The other team leader in the Action Group, he had a grudge with Lou Xing. I saw him having secret conversations during that period, acting mysteriously, and then Lou Xing got into trouble..."

Zuo Jiu was just suspicious, without evidence.

"You’re not lying to me?"

"I’m not, I’m not lying to you, everything I said is true, I have nothing to do with that incident." He only wanted to take advantage of the situation and climb into a position.

Chuzheng pulled him back in.

Zuo Jiu gasped, grateful to have survived.

"Do you know where the Energy Stone is?"

"It’s..." Zuo Jiu’s voice halted, his breath also pausing, he glared angrily at Chuzheng.

The next moment, half of Zuo Jiu’s body was out again.

"Where is it?"

The girl’s cold voice echoed in his ear, like a layer of ice shards, chilling him to the bone.

Zuo Jiu: "..."

He must have had bad luck for several lifetimes!
