The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 293: Start Of Change (3)
Chapter 293: Start Of Change (3)
The seemingly peaceful city hid the chaos within. Unlike Arren’s situation, his disappearance did cause the organization’s side to be surprised and even more bewildered.
Just how could Arren leave? After they saw the passage that he used, they became suspicious of themselves. Was there a traitor who helped Arren escape? Otherwise, how could Arren have managed to know that passage?
Either way, the Marquis’ expression sank at its lowest point, giving shivers to his subordinates. Soon, organization forces began to be deployed in the city.
The two forces were destined to clash in this very city.
However, that was not the most important thing at this moment.
Arren really just stayed inside the house while he was looking at Auntie Mildred’s phone, waiting for the alpha to contact him. Although the last time they talked was hours ago, Arren had the inkling that the alpha was already on his way to meet him.
Other than being excited, he admitted that he was also nervous. Just how would he react when he finally faced Spade after his memories returned? Also, his disappearance might have given the alpha a bigger blow this time around.
One thing he was sure of, Arren would hug his alpha so tight to the point that both of them could almost not breathe anymore. He would also tell Spade everything.
This time, he didn’t care about secrets anymore. He wanted to let out all his emotions and share the memories that he had with his alpha.
When it was night after they ate dinner, Arren had already told Auntie Mildred that someone would come to fetch him. He didn’t explicitly say who it was, but Auntie Mildred obviously understood just who he was talking about.
"Auntie Mildred, it’s best if... The kids are already asleep by then." Arren had raised this concern.
He didn’t really want to implicate these kids or even her. Spade was most definitely accompanied by his royal guards and agents. The best-case scenario was to slip out of the city unnoticed, but that only an ideal scenario; the chances of it were zero.
Still, he hoped that nothing bad would happen.
Auntie Mildred stared at Arren and patted his shoulder.
"Go home safely," she whispered.
Auntie Mildred had said the same thing or words that had almost the same meaning to them a lot of times. Because of her guilt, she began to foster children and help those in need and lost, just like Arren.
Still, even if Arren only stayed by her side for about a day, she sincerely hoped for Arren to return to where he was supposed to be safe.
Arren swallowed and nodded.
"We’ll see each other again soon," he said with conviction. His promise to repay this kindness with actions was yet to be fulfilled.
Saying that kids were supposed to be sleeping when Spade arrived was also applicable to her. Although Arren didn’t mind, and Spade even told him he wanted to meet her, Auntie Mildred insisted not to meet the emperor at this time.
Arren also knew that this was her way of not being too involved in the situation, and he understood her. It was not a simple matter to be involved with Arren or Spade, much less with someone without any power like she had.
Arren’s fate was intertwined with danger. That was something he knew about himself. And so he didn’t insist on Auntie Mildred, as he himself decided to wait in the living room.
He was looking outside through the window, and as each minute passed, Arren’s emotions were slowly becoming tense. He was already clasping his hand, which was getting sweaty from the anxiety he was feeling.
That was one of the torturous waits he had, and it felt like forever. When the clock hit eleven in the evening and the almost sleepless street showed signs of peace, one closed truck parked not far away from the house where Arren was.
From the surface, it looked almost as if they were there for a delivery. The driver then climbed out of the truck and, with one other, walked close to the house.
Arren was already observing their movements through the window. They stood outside of the gate and observed the house for a bit before they said something to each other.
The two men didn’t enter the gate, though, and instead, while under Arren’s watchful gaze, one of the men suddenly signaled with his hand.
There was no particular meaning to it, but Arren almost shot up immediately after seeing this!
It only meant they were the ones he was waiting for! Arren and Spade had agreed to a sign to determine the other’s identity once their people arrived, so as not to let him be mistaken by anyone.
He stood up from his seat, but no matter how excited he was, he didn’t leave immediately. Instead, he looked at Auntie Mildred’s room for a bit and bowed his sincere farewell.
As he said, this wouldn’t be the last time that they would be seeing each other. After he did that, Arren slowly exited the house and approached the men outside.
He didn’t open the gate yet, though, and instead swept his eyes around the two. They were wearing casual attire, but their build was obviously not just that of average men either.
Arren was a bit disappointed since he thought Spade would be greeting him first.
"Young Master," one of them called. "His Majesty is already waiting for us," he whispered.
He took a deep breath and opened the gate. Arren also thought that it would be inconvenient for Spade to come and fetch him personally because of his special identity.
Arren was just too eager to see his alpha.
Without saying anything more, Arren followed the two. They couldn’t afford to waste time after all. This part of the city was actually rather peaceful, but in other parts of the area, a raid had broken out from all over the place.
The organization was easily distracted by this, and their operation to find Arren was slightly disrupted, but that didn’t mean they were stopping to pursue Arren, so they were still pressed for time to leave the city.
It didn’t take long for them to get closer to the truck again. One of the men opened the truck for him, and Arren also didn’t complain about the transportation they used.
When he entered, it was dark. Arren looked at the two, but they averted their eyes.
What the hell? Were they going to smuggle him or something? Arre didn’t see the point of this. At least, give him some lights! In any case, she could only grumble inside and enter the truck.
For a second, Arren thought that these two were impostors and that they were actually there to abduct him again, but the moment that he set foot inside the track, he immediately disregarded this thought. freeweɓnøvel.com
It was because there was not only him inside the truck.
Arren was almost frozen where he stood the moment their eyes met. The truck was finally close once more, and when it began moving, a hand supported Arren so he wouldn’t stumble.
He only realized after he finally recovered his wits that he was already sitting in someone’s lap. He was also wrapped securely in the other’s arms.
It was so dark inside that Arren couldn’t even see the face of the other person. Arren was also bewildered as to why there was a need for it to be the case, but he only realized it a few seconds later.
Arren didn’t need to see the other person’s face; he could recognize him by his pheromones alone.
It was Spade, his alpha.
The corners of his eyes instantly heated up, and Arren clung to the other tight. If he saw his face, Arren knew that he would instantly break down right there and then.
His warmth and the way he could feel the alpha’s breathing in his neck reminded Arren that it was real. He was in his alpha’s embrace.
For some time, he only took in this moment, cherishing this silence while he was finally back in Spade’s arms. It felt like it had been a long time since.
He understood that the darkness was a consideration for him, but even more so for the alpha. In fact, perhaps it was more to contain Spade’s emotions than him the most.
Arren leaned into his alpha’s chest and shut his eyes; his tense nerves had finally eased completely. When Spade was there with him, Arren knew that he was safe. He was finally safe.
The alpha’s arms around him also tightened significantly.
The inside of the truck wasn’t the most romantic location he could think of for their reunion after what happened to them. It was, honestly, the opposite.
Even if that were the case, Arren knew the two of them didn’t need to be romantic, and what they had gone through was far from just being reassured by a few heartfelt kisses.
The emotions they had were still inside; they were still boiling at this moment. However, they could set it aside until they were already in a safe place.
Spade would wait until Arren was in a safe place, away from this city.
The raging emotions he had inside, despite being unable to be suppressed, were unsurprisingly contained by Arren’s presence. For him, anything could wait; what was important was that Arren was back in his arms again.
And this was the biggest change in history yet. Spade shut his eyes and hugged Arren, never wanting to let go ever again.
