88 Unusual Favor

His tone was supposed to sound scolding, but if Anna heard right, she could swear she sensed a hint of worry laced in his alluring tone. ๐—ณ๐™ง๐ž๐šŽw๐—ฒ๐š‹n๐š˜๐™ซ๐‘’๐˜ญ.๐‘om

And did he just refer to her as his human? When did she become his??

โ€œHow is it my fault?โ€ She countered back regardless of her own thoughts, โ€œyou said you wouldnโ€™t help me so I had to do it alone.โ€

โ€œI expected you to beg for my help.โ€

โ€œWell sorry to burst your bubbles but I have no intention of ruining my dress.โ€ She retorted and at this point, he was tempted to squeeze her little mouth in order to shut her up.

Roshan finally gave up, it was difficult to strike a conversation with the silly woman without turning it into some sort of argument. No matter how exhausted she was, she always had enough strength to argue with him.

โ€œWeโ€™ll finish this conversation later.โ€ It was a subtle response that left Anna guessing what he really meant by that.

His attention eventually diverted to the person laying on the bed and he strode up to his bedside. ๐—ณ๐˜ณ๐’†๐˜ฆ๐‘ค๐ž๐š‹๐—ป๐š˜๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐™ก.๐‘๐จ๐˜ฎ

โ€œIs this the Mayorโ€™s son?โ€

.....

She reached to stand beside him before nodding in return, โ€œIโ€™ve been trying to get a response from him for about twenty minutes now but heโ€™s not responding, and look...โ€

She pointed at the bite mark on his left arm, โ€œitโ€™s totally different from the one on my neck.โ€

She moved her hair to the side so Roshan could see the mark he gave her and he instinctively lowered his gaze, as though he was unwilling to look directly into the bite mark on her neck.

โ€œHe has up to four marks on his arm, is it possible to be beaten twice, at the same time?โ€

Roshan nodded with a cryptical stare, โ€œyeah.โ€ He crouched closer to examine the bite mark that was currently smudged with herbal ointment.

โ€œThe venom has spread to a limit the herbs unfortunately canโ€™t reach, thatโ€™s why he isnโ€™t responding.โ€ He stated, causing Anna to take a step back as the last hope she had came crashing down like a tidal wave.

โ€œThat means the herb wonโ€™t work?โ€

โ€œNot if I can help it.โ€ He muttered to himself before holding the victimโ€™s arm. As much as he was willing to risk it, he couldnโ€™t let Annaโ€™s hard work go to waste. All he had to do was stay focused in order to find the venom, that way itโ€™d be easier to force the venom out of his system before itโ€™s too late.

Taking a deep breath to prepare himself mentally, he closed his eyes to concentrate on the little energy left inside of him and before Annaโ€™s hopeless gaze, she watched as Roshanโ€™s body glowed in a soft illuminating light.

Her eyes widened in pure fascination, seeing those silver lights move from Roshanโ€™s body and into the Mayorโ€™s sonโ€™s body.

โ€˜Heโ€™s transferring his energy.โ€™ she silently marveled and her eyes shifted back to the Mayorโ€™s son.

A stabbing pain was the first thing Roshan felt as he continued the process, but he was capable of handling it and decided to hold it in for as long as he could. He tried to remain focused so he could track the poison when another painful stab struck his chest.

The red crimson liquid slowly escaped from the corner of his mouth as he constantly battled the pain and tried to stay focused at the same time.

After a few minutes of energy transfusion, the young man resting on the bed suddenly jerked and he turned his head to the side, spitting out blood as he coughed violently.

Roshan finally let go of his arm as he sank to the ground with a light thud, his body shook slightly due to the pain circulating his system and it felt like he just ripped his tendons apart.

An elated gasp left Annaโ€™s lips after seeing the Mayorโ€™s son respond and she instantly hurried to his bed side.

โ€œHeโ€™s alright!โ€ She happily exclaimed, gently helping the unconscious being lay back comfortably on the bed after the terrible coughing. His heartbeat slowly returned to a normal pace, relieving Annaโ€™s heart further.

โ€œRoshan he...โ€

She turned to tell Roshan the exciting news, only to see the being was battling with a look of pain sheโ€™s never seen in his eyes before and her happy expression slowly dissipated. What caught her attention was the blood that escaped from the corner of his lips.

โ€œRoshan!โ€

She hurried to his side with quick steps, discarding the Mayorโ€™s son from her mind as she quickly knelt on the ground beside Roshan.

โ€œWhat... what happened to you?โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t come close.โ€ He warned after seeing she was about to touch him, โ€œIโ€™m fine.โ€

โ€œYou donโ€™t look fine!โ€ She argued. His face was contorted with a pain he couldnโ€™t hide and she knew he was trying his best to keep them hidden Ashe gritted his teeth.

โ€œItโ€™s just a little consequence I have to face, Iโ€™m alright.โ€

โ€œConsequence?โ€ Anna didnโ€™t get it, โ€œwhat consequence?โ€

โ€œCheck him while I...โ€

He hadnโ€™t even finished speaking when she raised the hem of her dress and lightly wiped the blood from the corner of his lips, as though she was scared sheโ€™d end up hurting him more if she pressed too hard.

โ€œYou claim to be his highness when you canโ€™t even take care of yourself, how will you take care of your people then? Iโ€™m still a maid so the care of his highness comes first, you canโ€™t stop me.โ€

She queried non-stop like a mother scolding her son for being reckless. He didnโ€™t miss the look in her innocent brown eyes and for some reason, he found it difficult to look away.

โ€œYou...โ€ he finally said something, โ€œyou.... never listen, do you?โ€

She noticed the glint in his Hazel-green eyes, causing a familiar feeling to flutter in her heart, but their moment was interrupted when the door opened. William was the one to step in.

โ€œI heard a lady scream.โ€ He said with an alarming look, only to spot Anna helping the annoying man up to his feet.

โ€œWhat happened here?โ€ He immediately questioned. Surprising both Anna and Roshan with his presence. Goodness knows what could have happened if he stepped in during the energy transfusion.

Roshanโ€™s identity would have been exposed.

The soft painful groan behind them caught their attention, equally catching the attention of Williamโ€™s and when they turned to see who it was.

The young man on the bed was slowly regaining consciousness, leaving Williamโ€™s eyes to widen in disbelief after seeing the Mayorโ€™s son wake up from his deep slumbers.

โ€œN_Nicholas?โ€ If he was wearing glasses, heโ€™d have definitely taken it off to be certain he was seeing correctly.

โ€œArghh, my head.โ€ The blinding headache was the first thing Nicholas was welcomed with after staying how many days in bed??

โ€œNicholas, youโ€™re awake!โ€ William couldnโ€™t hold back his exclamation before rushing to his bedside.

โ€œHow are you feeling?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s best not to stress him, he just woke up and his brain needs a lot of rebooting to do.โ€ Anna suggestively explained, drawing Williamโ€™s attention back to her and Roshan.

โ€œHow did..how did you?!โ€ He really couldnโ€™t believe it, they healed the Mayorโ€™s son.

โ€œBut what happened to him?โ€ He asked after noticing a little change in Roshanโ€™s expression.

โ€œHe...uhh... heโ€™s not feeling too well,โ€ she quickly came up with a lie, โ€œitโ€™s something that occurs once in a while with him, but heโ€™ll be fine.โ€

โ€œThen we better put him to rest to show our gratitude.โ€

โ€œCan I ask for one favor then?โ€ She mustered up enough courage to ask, causing Williamโ€™s brow to pull together.

โ€œWhich is?โ€

Anna pinned her lips together as though feeling ashamed to say it, but it was something that needed to be done.

โ€œCan we share a room?โ€
