The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!-Chapter 59: Ankang Biotech!
On the dining table, Su Mo and Yang Qingxi were having breakfast together.
Yang Qingxi originally wanted to bring up the new protagonist who was about to appear, but she quickly noticed that Su Mo seemed distracted. His gaze was fixed on his phone, and even his chopsticks moved absent-mindedly, barely touching the food.
She wondered if he was also thinking about how to deal with that new protagonist.
Curious, she quietly activated her heart-listening function and peeked into his thoughts.
[So the system really sent those share documents...]
[My shares are about 65%. At the current valuation, that’s around seventy-five million yuan.]
[Sigh... what a pity.]
[I’m worth tens of millions now, but I can only look at it.]
[Should I just sell these shares?]
Su Mo’s expression was serious, his brows slightly knitted as he weighed short-term gains against uncertain long-term prospects.
Yang Qingxi immediately recalled that Su Mo had indeed received something like this from his system before. Back then, she had casually instructed Secretary Lin to investigate the company’s prospects.
’What was it called again... some biotech company, right?’
She took out her phone and noticed that Secretary Lin had sent her a message late the previous night, along with an attached document. She had been too focused on news about the new protagonist to check her messages at the time.
She opened the document and began reading.
Before long, her eyebrows lifted slightly in surprise.
’The previous owner was Wang Cai?’
’Isn’t that the man who met He Xiong at the bar that night?’
’No wonder Su Mo found the company’s name familiar.’
Yang Qingxi closed the document and placed her phone back on the table. She looked at Su Mo and asked casually, acting as though she knew nothing.
"What are you staring at? You’re not even eating. The food’s getting cold."
Su Mo finally lifted his gaze from the screen and looked at her.
"Nothing much," he said honestly. "The system gave me shares in some company. I was just thinking about whether I should sell them."
Since Yang Qingxi already knew about the system and its reward function, he didn’t see any need to hide it.
"Which company?" She asked, leaning forward slightly, curiosity flashing in her eyes.
"Ankang Biotech."
"Oh?" She showed a look of sudden realisation.
"You know it?" Su Mo asked, surprised.
"Yes. It used to belong to Wang Cai," Yang Qingxi said lightly, as if mentioning an unimportant detail.
Su Mo frowned immediately. "Then maybe I really should sell them. Wang Cai is connected to the organ-trafficking rings in Jiangnan City. He was also a major client of He Xiong. Once he gets caught, who knows how much trouble he’ll drag the company into? Besides, I don’t believe Ankang Biotech is completely clean either."
Yang Qingxi listened quietly, offering no judgment. This was Su Mo’s decision to make. At most, she could provide information—anything beyond that wasn’t her place to interfere.
"Do you have more details about this company?" Su Mo asked. "Your finance department should be good at this."
After all, Yang Group’s analysts were experts. Even if Ankang Biotech was only a mid-tier local company, they should have data on it.
"Sure."
Yang Qingxi picked up her phone and pretended to send a message. About a minute later, she looked up.
"Alright. Here’s what you want."
"So fast?" Su Mo’s eyes widened in genuine surprise. He couldn’t help but admire the efficiency and professionalism of her subordinates.
Yang Qingxi merely smiled faintly and began reading from the document.
"The company’s core flagship product is called Vitalis-X Cell Therapy. It’s claimed to assist in cancer recovery and enhance immunity against cancer-related diseases."
"Next is AX-19 Injection, which is used in the treatment of hematological diseases."
"There’s also something worth noting," she continued. "They’re working on a project called the ReGenesis Program. According to their claims, it’s a bio-engineered organ-regeneration platform designed to repair severely damaged organs. However, the current progress of this project is unclear."
Su Mo fell silent, staring at her for a long moment before finally speaking.
"...That sounds incredible."
"Of course it does." Yang Qingxi rolled her eyes at his stunned expression. "According to Yang Group’s analysts, the company has great potential. Unfortunately, the previous owner refused external investment and wasn’t willing to part with his shares."
Su Mo thought for a moment, then made up his mind.
"Alright. I’ll keep the shares. As long as I can deal with the company’s problems and clean up its dark spots, it should be fine."
Yang Qingxi nodded, a satisfied smile appearing on her face. It was nice to see him show ambition for once, instead of treating everything as a hassle.
"If you need help," she said casually, "just tell me. I can send some people over."
"Thanks," Su Mo replied without false politeness. He genuinely needed capable manpower, and if Miss Yang was willing to help, there was no reason to refuse.
As for worrying that she might trick him?
Not even a little.
Who was Yang Qingxi? The heir to the Yang Consortium, whose wealth was measured in trillions. Why would she covet a small biotech company? More importantly, to her, Su Mo himself was far more valuable than any amount of money.
"By the way," Su Mo suddenly asked, "where’s Sister Xulin? Isn’t she up yet?"
At that, Yang Qingxi rolled her beautiful eyes.
"Did you already forget how badly you beat her up? She’s taken leave."
Su Mo scratched his cheek awkwardly. "She did break a few bones and lose some blood, but I healed her back to full health, didn’t I?"
"If not for that, she’d be in the ICU instead of resting at home," Yang Qingxi snorted. "Her mental health needs time to recover, too."
"Well... you’re right," Su Mo admitted with a nod. Maybe he really had gone a little too far. Still, he believed she’d adapt sooner or later.
Then a thought struck him.
"Does that mean she’s not coming with us to see the new protagonist?"
Yang Qingxi stood up from her seat. "No. And since you’ve finished breakfast—" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
She glanced at him.
"Let’s go."
